Stand up isn't even remotely close to being the regional manager of a bank. Wtf is this reporter going on about?

What are you gonna do? Shame me into not supporting my favorite comedian? Good fuckin luck.

Yea he paid the price, we've all moved and don't care. I want to see him on stage again.

This kind of makes me want women out of comedy entirely. Unless you think regional bank managers are really hilarious

It infuriates me that they are trying to basically compare him to Weinstein or Epstein. I hate these people, I really do.

1:20 This example moved me. She is entirely correct about the bank executive scenario. But those industries are not a close parallel. The entertainment industry is not in any way like the banking industry. People get naked backstage all the time... sometimes onstage (Hi Burt, Hi Natasha :). If you can't handle seeing genitalia, maybe the entertainment industry isn't your cup of tea. I hear the banks are horing. I mean hiring. (yes that was an honest typo... one of God's Little Jokes?) Also they weren't employees. A closer parallel would be: the CEO of Exxon or Toyota met the CEO of a smaller company, Conoco or Hyundai at a convention and they went to a hotel room...and didn't have sex. If CK had propositioned, somebody said no, then he pulled a Weinstein and tried to end her career in retaliation (BTW that happened to me), then I would say thats heinous, pretty sure illegal, likely I'd join a boycott. AFAIK no one has accused him of that, certainly not charged/convicted or presented convincing evidence in investigative journalism. So I don't think thats what happened. AFAIK LCK did something that is ethically problematic [awkward flirting w someone who has less power though not an employee, maybe taking it a step too far w/o consent] though common and not illegal. AFAIK it was a long time ago and he got the hint, apologized at the time, took some steps to both make amends and reform his private behavior long before it ever went public. Theres no claim of anything like that happening in over a decade (two decades?), so it appears he really did learn his lesson. Beyond that, its unclear what is wanted of him? If there was a demand, perhaps it could be met. But dragging it out w/o any possibility of resolution, just perpetually shamed regardless, just seems like milking it. Even if you murder someone, at some point you get out of jail and can vote again. He did a somewhat bad thing, said sorry and accepted responsibility and stopped doing it and paid a hefty price for it. ok. Why is that not enough? I won't say I'm sorry these ladies got a payday out of this (hey, public figures do sign up for the arena). I just don't see what other goal there is, that makes sense. I'm open to new info though!

The bank manager comparison isn’t a great one. Presumably these things didn’t happen in the clubs, it was hanging out after hours, right? Hanging out, drinking / toking, etc. If banker offices were like that those jobs would be in higher demand. Not defending what he did but I’m not a fan of eliminating gray areas with false equivalencies. It makes me less likely to watch this. Sometimes these docs don’t know when to trim the fat because the want the prestige of being “feature length” when an hour or so could probably cover a subject this limited just fine. I’d give this subject no more than half the time it took Spotlight or All the Presidents Men to put their stories across. Is there really more to say after the endless coverage online? The issues remain relevant but the Louis thing feels exhausted of new angles.

It was pretty ridiculous. Meanwhile there’s people like Chelsea Handler who actually need a documentary about them. This was just treading old ground. I think most people besides a few really fringe vindicators have moved on.
