I mean I guess it's good to talk about the general vibe of the comedy industry and how it feels unsafe and exclusionary. But Louie CK is a fucking hilarious dude who worked on being funny and got a head writing gig for Conan because he made short films and developed a reputation as a creative guy. I just feel like these documentaries suck you in with empathy for women and then it's just dehumanizing to men. Louis CK is not a predator. Btw, if you're a woman, and you were hurt and scarred, and you use the word predator to describe someone, that's okay if you acknowledge that you're venting and opening up and healing etc. But you don't get to decide what Louie is as a person. He's a human being and he did not rape or target women or stalk them. It fucking pisses me off that we need to state the actual facts again: he asked a bunch of women if he could jerk off in front of them, and if they said no he wouldn't do it. This is not predatory behaviour. Please shut the f**k up. You can go ahead and have a discussion about women's safety all day long, but this documentary is not that. This is a "Fuck Louis CK" documentary made because Louis CK is still famous and doing comedy to his own fanbase that he built up by starting his own website, making films and shows, and crafting multiple high quality comedy specials that he sold at a reasonable price.
Now where is there a Monty Roberts to INFORM Americans about what slaughter houses do to horses in Mexico, where over 200,000 of "our" horses go each year?
If they didn't want him to do it, they shouldn't have given him consent in that hotel room. There were two grown women, they could have said "No". He has never been accused of assault. He's not a violent man. I gladly give him my money.
"Hey we are absolutely failing at this comedy thing because we're not funny, let's blame it on that guy that masturbated in front of us over a decade ago. You remember, we laughed and joked about it with other female comedians.... Let's just pretend we were traumatized by it now and cash in. It doesn't really matter how many people we hurt in the process."
And let's do this with our children too, rather than believe somehow they are out to do wrong. A key of good management: manage to reflect your expectations of that person (or horse)!
these youtube comments are sad - louis ck doesn't need you internet losers to come to his defense, he's doing fine and making tons of money lmao i think you can understand the influence and importance of louis ck's work while also understanding he's done a lot of fucked up stuff, it doesn't have to be this scorched earth / black or white mentality excited to watch this doc!
It's funny I crolled so far and this is the first Anti Louie comment I saw. But why does this make anyone here a loser for taking Louie's side? Do you think what louie did means he should never work again? Was anything illegal?
@@DarrylEbanks “do you think what louie did means he should never work again? isn’t that what this documentary is trying to wrestle with? i am someone who really really enjoyed louis ck’s comedy but i have never felt the need to defend someone who has actively harmed people in the comedy community, ESPECIALLY the horrible things he has done to women my other thing is…he IS working. he continues to make money. he SOLD OUT madison square garden. so what are people really defending here? a man’s right to sexually mistreat women? i don’t know what the "path back to normalcy is" - and i am actually of the belief that there HAS to be some way to come back from “being cancelled," because people make mistakes and they should be allowed to learn/grow from them but i don’t know, sometimes the way people are defending what he definitely did and has admitted to doing instead of defending his “right” to come back feels icky, man
@@kennyparkyi “the horrible things he’s done to women.” Bro he asked grown women a question and they said YES. Is it a bit creepy of a thing to ask? Yes, but that hardly makes him the predator he’s said to be. No one is giving him the right to sexually mistreat people, but for what he was accused of people didn’t see that as a means to cancel the man. Yes he “IS” making money, but he DID lose millions and his social status went flat. What he does now is self produced, so he doesn’t need to depend on companies that did “cancel“ him. Sounds like you wouldn’t be happy unless he and his family are locked off from any monetary gain and/or should off himself.
And I thought the police and prosecution in North Colorado and Southern Wyoming was beyond incompetent and corrupt..... Sgt J. Bpd And some Gpd (Colo.) Along with some from the WY state line?!?.... Should write an instruction manual.
She doesn't look or sound like a man. Before anyone gets rage-baited, I'm talking about the deaf woman who you all assumed her gender. On the other hand a trans man is a term to describe a woman with gender dysphoria.
Thank you for all the algorithm support & fan behavior from the hogs! Glad Elliot is pursuing more stories like this as he mentioned when I went to his book talk. 🏳️⚧️ One love 💙
The bank manager comparison isn’t a great one. Presumably these things didn’t happen in the clubs, it was hanging out after hours, right? Hanging out, drinking / toking, etc. If banker offices were like that those jobs would be in higher demand. Not defending what he did but I’m not a fan of eliminating gray areas with false equivalencies. It makes me less likely to watch this. Sometimes these docs don’t know when to trim the fat because the want the prestige of being “feature length” when an hour or so could probably cover a subject this limited just fine. I’d give this subject no more than half the time it took Spotlight or All the Presidents Men to put their stories across. Is there really more to say after the endless coverage online? The issues remain relevant but the Louis thing feels exhausted of new angles.
It was pretty ridiculous. Meanwhile there’s people like Chelsea Handler who actually need a documentary about them. This was just treading old ground. I think most people besides a few really fringe vindicators have moved on.
You wanna talk about women being treated shitty and THIS is what you come up with? Put all this effort and money into this film? You are lunatics. You are so detached from reality. Shame on you.
Me clicking the video “They made a shitty atrophy again…I thought his new film or sth was about to come out and felt excited…I might as well rewatch Louis on his website until I die…”
"You've been socialized in this world where men get to treat women however they want" Man, that sounds like a fine place, can you point me in the direction of that planet? Drop me the star charts? 👌😆👍
