Edited from the 1976 motion picture and original soundtrack--“Car Wash”--a movie scene dubbed with the album track, “You Gotta Believe.” "Daddy Rich"--Richard Pryor still makes me laugh.
This movie spoke volumes, and the cast was perfect. I can't believe they did a remake, that sucked. This movie is a classic. Richard Pryor as always was perfectly funny... and what can we say about the glamorous, always harmonious Pointer Sisters, they came, they took us to church and SLAYED those vocals like only they can..
RIP to the lovely ladies of The Pointer Sisters. Bonnie, Ruth, Anita. Also to Richard Pryor, as well as one of my favorite comedians of all time, Mr. George Carlin. 🙏
My apologies, I've just learned that Ruth Pointer (the youngest of the sisters) is actually still with us. My mistake. Rest in peace to Bonnie, June, and Anita. 🙏
The Pointer Sisters are phenomena talents. So soulful. My condolences to this talented family on their losses, including Ms. Anita who just passed on. God bless y’all.
This movie is a classic that had a star studded cast of legendary actors and singers R.I.P to all of the Pointers Sisters who are longer here. They were the best female black sister group along with Sister Sledge. ❤❤❤
I love the pointer sisters! Those ladies can sing!!!! This is one of my favorite movies! It came out before I was born I'm a 80s baby! But I use to watch it with my dad. We still watch it from time to time!!
I saw the movie Car Wash when it was released and loved it. This scene was a fantastic bonus. That night I went to a dance party and the dance floor went wild when the DJ played the soundtrack. Good times.
The Pointer Sisters were always on point. That's when all 4 sister were together. I'm from Detroit Motown. But I live here in the Bay area California. And their music was on point like Motown. I remember this movie when it first came out. I was a kid. That theme song was popular via 'Rose Royce.' The 70s were a good and fun time, where music was a major part of the movie. Especially with Motown being behind a lot of it.
Great Movie. I love the stars & especially this song. Holds a lot of meaning even to this day. I gotta believe in something. Take the chain off your brain.🤔 Car Wash was a great movie. Had it going on back in the day.
After the boss insulted Duane (Bill Duke) in this scene , Duane left the car wash and joined the military. He became known as Mac and joined an elite team of Commandos. Years later he came back to town and ‘took out’ all the people who pissed him off. Sadly the next year he was lost in the jungle fighting an alien Predator.
Well, I always feel like this DIVINE piece of funk (a FUN KEY!) goes by too fast, so I slowed it down to .5x and wow, was that hilarious. Pryor sounds drunk, or, you know, like he had a stroke. The song itself slowed THAT much is a little strange, but still enjoyable, and the faces everybody makes are funnier. But so then I slowed it down to .75x (3/4 time, like the incarnation of the Sisters post-Bonnie, 3 out of 4, perhaps?) and VOILA, fucking magic, it's exactly how it should be, in my opinion. The original 1x song is still more danceable, but the .75x version really seeps into your ears and soul. But, so, anyway...why not? Why not believe in June? Why couldn't she be God? THE God, the MOST HIGH...and when you think about it, who else has ever been higher? The woman smoked enough crack to kill 300,000 manatees. Anyway, I believe in her. And I believe in me, now, too. I suppose I'm the Pryor-figure, the preacher, the messiah-figure, whatever. I am what I am, as Popeye said! 🤷🏻♂️
Happy Easter to you too, Paul. Now, about your request, “Volare” was what I started next. However--another in progress--I left yours to work it . . . sorry. Done and uploading, I’m back on yours--exclusively--it’ll be my next upload.
Thank you, Paul. And yes, I was actually going to start it right after the Sly and the Family one, but this one was so easy I just to had knock it out real quick. Anyway, you're next. Sorry I haven't even checked your previous comments on your last request--my bad (and see, I go naggin' about you not responding to them. 😂
