This pyramid (ascending then descending) rep scheme can help with the mental game: just get through the round of 30’s, then each round is shorter than the last. Break early and often. Don’t go to failure. Keep rests short and get back to work as quickly as possible.

“My approach today was slow and unbroken, which I was able to hold throughout the effort.
Deadlifts take it out of me, even at this light weight. I started each deadlift with my eyes closed so I could focus more on feel and form and be internal with the movement. For some reason, I find that really helps reduce the suck, too.
I do love box jump overs, but they seriously spike my heart rate!”
