Some weird terminology usages on my part : Buster “looping” : I guess since the NP itself doesn’t refund its not quite the same as arts and quick looping I used “refund” in place of “np gain” multiple times when referring to face cards which is inaccurate.
A thing you also didn't mention: 30% chargers with a 5 turn CD can also buster loop without oberon, but with a K-scope and a double 20+ charger(waver, reines, castoria) Turn 1 Kscope Turn 2 30% from self 50% from koyan, plug used koyan for waver, waver 10+10 Turn 3 Koyan 50%, Self 30% Waver 30%

Though I'm already well and truly familiar with Koyan, DKS, and Her Best Friends In Crime, I still greatly appreciate this vid on her. Always nice to get back to the basics every now and then, no? I just love the balanced take you had on her, as well as not being afraid to address her weaknesses and those she leads to teams including. Girl might've saved Buster from the dredge heap of viability, but she ain't without her flaws or hurdles.
The one apparent problem she has is that she's as strict as Quick System in Regards of Farming Requirement if not slightly Less but provided better milage What she fell short is that Majority of the Buster Reloader needs a 50% Charge and Koyan in all frank, only provide one Type of Buff compare to Skadi and Castoria But all in all, she did excellent elevating Buster
@@kun25881 Buff that's applicable through majority of the fight. Outside of Enemies that are within Morgan's Nuking range, S2 is only good for the Crit Stars it gives for the 3rd Wave and 10% Charge. Man is common to run into but they're not a Universal Attribute that everything in this game encompasses As opposed to Castoria who provided a 70-100% Buff and Skadi's 85% of Multiplied Buff
One thing I love in buster looping in farming and such is you don't care about irregular nodes. Which is helping me a whole lot right now that I'm trying to clear free quests.
I recently rolled on the Morgan banner on NA and I got Barghest and Morgan (Morgan was first in 14 tickets and Barghest in 3 multis after) but I got not one copy of Cu Caster and he was a 3 star on rate up
I liked how you touched on the 60% CE. The anniversary CE paired with a 10% append is a good workaround for poorer masters trying to buster farm with 30% charge servants
I think Koyanskaya's buster crit buff package isn't talked about enough for farming because everybody hates facecard gameplay. It's possible to get higher CE bonuses for not too much difference in turn count, and the specificity of the star absorb to buster makes more hand combinations work. The star bomb is also separate from the buster crit buff package, which allows greater flexibility regarding when that massive buster crit nuke is happening, and more possible buster crit turns if the servants being supported have their own starbombs such as the Artorias. Crits are inconsistent, but they're also relatively cheap compared to recharging whole NP bars. Facecard + NP teams also shine in the mixed 90+ node context against single enemies that can be bursted with a single buffed crit facecard instead of needing some costly combination of battery supports and Mystic Codes. It's Koyanskaya's crit buffs, NP battery support, ability to be a substitute damage dealer with good crit gameplay facecards herself, and cooldown mechanics with a downside that spurred my interest over the one-trick offenses of Castoria arts looping (the system that's way more unforgiving if you can't loop). Koyanskaya feels to me like a fun and technical servant even without the buster looping servants, and I know from my personal time borrowing her from a friend in JP that I'm going to enjoy my triple append, L120 Koyanskaya very much.
This honestly. When i was still doing triple dps with battery CEs, Fran NP into 3rd wave so Arjuna Alter can NP and perhaps crit the big boy to death if they're still alive was a fun strat that worked 100% of the time. Crits help take care of things if nps arent enough after
The only issue with relying on crits is card RNG when it comes to automated farming that you don't do yourself, you have fga do it. If you yourself are doing a node over and over it's possible to rely on crits with someone like Gorgon who if there's a single enemy in multiple waves can do good work critting for you versus having to go double Oberon + Koyanskaya to make her loop since her only battery is NP refund like Artoria's, but much less.

one fun team comp that I like using is have Douman pair up with double Koyans. Douman's NP damage is not much to write home about (even on high np levels), however the instant kill effect is very powerful, even against class advantage, and both Koyans benefit from the 50% crit damage up, as the whole team is evil aligned. with a bit of extra help DOuman can NP 3 times, and the crits can finish the waves off even if some stragglers remain alive. it can be a surprisingly effective AND fun comp! also they hate each other and i endorse their toxic workplace environment

A fun trick for Chen Gong users. Koyan can use her Battery (+Atlas 3rd) on Castoria. This will reset all of Castoria's skills, allowing her to not only donate her battery, but also her Mana Burst. Edit: On turn 3
This just solidified my plan to get koyanskaya. I do have a few buster servants that will work well with her and a lot of supports to use alongside her for the plugsuit setups. Highly appreciate this video.

I think you should mention EMIYA as well, since he's a really odd one that, despite doesn't have any battery, could still 3T with Koyan unless first wave is Berserker or Assassin.
IMO he's one of the *best* Koyanskaya loopers if only because you can use him with Black Grail and you're *way* more likely to have multiple copies than you are with any of the other premier buster loopers other than Caster Cu (unless you didn't roll the LB6 banners) and Avicebron such that for a *lot* of accounts BG AAB Castoria/Vitch Emiya is going to be your highest damaging Vitch combo. Mine hits harder than my Morgan against anything but Man enemies.

I don't think you mentioned it on the video, but something nice about buster looping is that as long as they have the damage any looper can 3T any weird wave comp like 3/2/3. If you want to do this with a quick or arts team you would need really specific loopers.
It's useless considering 99% of Buster needs starting gauge to work. Give the same thing to most top-tier Arts stuff and they can do the same too. In fact, Spishtar and her clones can all do anything below 1/1/x with CC0 and without needing starting gauge which makes them better in general.
@@GS_CCC hmmm, most of the time Im farming bond points on Sun King's Temple (gives highest amount of Bond points in the game), can Caster Cu deal with the last wave though? If he can, thats a great news for me!
@@GS_CCC The flat +50 bond points is the best outside of borrowed teatime or the 10% of lunchtime on most nodes is better as long as the node is giving 510 bond points or more per run (not sure how rounding works here if some node gave 506 bond per run.) The flat 50 is just the best in really early nodes in part 1 though, particularly bone nodes where bond points are basically scraps and +50 is insane considering the tiny ap cost of the nodes. Flat 50 only becomes worse when it's some event node that gives over a thousand bond points per run because then 5% of that is 50 or higher bond.
Great video as always. But little nitpick about your videos like this where it is mainly for EN people of FGO, avoid using footage from later boss fights that's not been released in EN yet since it's spoiler territory already. I still watch these kinds of videos but the whole time I avoid looking at the footage since its boss fights that are not in EN yet. (And in my IMO, other fights are good like new enemies, but bosses and mini bosses and any important fights are spoilery for me.)

Another Cú Caster setup that doesn't require appends (but does require Atlas mystic code) is Cú, KoyanLight + Oberon. T1 use Cú's S1 + S3, Oberon's S1 and Koyan's S1 to get to 100%. T2 use Atlas S3 for the other 2 turns of cooldown reduction and fire off Cú's skills again. T3 finish with Oberon's S2 + S3 for big damage. This team's damage is much better on wave 3 but slightly worse on waves 1 + 2 compared to the double Koyan + Mage's Association team, but you still get to avoid the fiddliness of plugsuit swaps (though plugsuit setups will still generally win in terms of overall damage, since you get to add a whole extra support's worth of buffs). I use this a lot on JP since I have my own Koyanskaya but no Oberon, and sometimes you really need that big Oberon NP damage buff to clear a tough wave 3.
@@lu70lo That just means you havent tried everything. I farmed at least one 90++ with her even before I got my own VVO system. All I had was Dark Koyan and borrowed Oberon. Ofc she wont be killing any last wave in one go but in a double dps situation, you can easily leave it to the ST Dps to take care of the chunky HP boss
wasnt gonna roll for her until I started clearing the losbelt for the upcoming LB6 and realized that outside of merlin: NO BUSTER SUPPORT FOR ME. Sure I'm whaling on Oberon but might as well try for her too.
got one question about her kit: Does the 10% Charge when attacking with a Buster Card stack (i.e. give 20% per Buster Card attack)? I've been playing around with ideas for Suzuka TAs and this might come up depending on the supports I bring. Edit: love the infocharts in this video btw, makes it immediatly obvious how the comp works given that you know the basics (which are explained in this video too)
For someone who has a developed roster and Q+A meta supports, without going into details, oberon would be an obvious choice. I'm not even a fan of any tamamo renditions (but don't hate her either), but somehow I want KL more than oberon. I just like the option of having multiple servants of color that I can abuse (hehe), and I really want to see god arjuna scorch the battlefield like there's no time for armageddon. Anyway, I'll try for both and I hope my luck will net me both KL and oberon.
Bonus info: Its also possible for 20% battery servents to buster loop with koyan and double oberon, tricky in term of skill order and damage but still possible, and yes thats important to know for ppl who likes some 20% servents xD
So yesterday, Koyan took 500 SQ to summon including the 1 SQ = 1 summon addition. Then today, I just for fun use the 1 SQ per day = 1 summon and I received a 2nd Koyan :O I am wondering, should I NP2 her? Or should I also max level the 2nd Koyan to replace Waver in the backrooms.
The game doesn't allow you to have two identical servants on the same team unless one of them is from support. You can either NP2 her or keep the other one for e-sporting some challenge quests, if you can afford it. If you don't have taunt CEs for low level Koyan just NP2 her imo.
I don't know about Oberon given the issue with him is that you can only rely on him for the 1 wave in the hopes you'll get the 1 hit kill. he's not the kind of servant you just throw in for every fight regardless if he's the support or damage dealer. if they took away the putting everyone to sleep permanently effect then he'd be vital but he's not. he's just a glorified 1 kill wave at the expense of your best damage dealer if you're out of luck and what you tried to kill somehow survives the NP.
Which makes him really really good for planned out challenge quests and especially those 90++ nodes when farming but yeah is role is in farming, nor casual content.
He actually is the kind of servant you throw into any fight. The perma sleep doesn't matter when everything is dead, and if you know how broken BG is, you will know that not only is his third skill desirable, it's very frequently necessary for any kind of DPS unit (not just Buster). Calling him a "glorified 1 kill wave" is laughable when the fights in this game ends when the last enemy is dead. So using him to guarantee the kill on the highest HP enemy in a node is excelent for both farming content (either to help low damage servants like Summer Abby, low NP levels or to help against high HP enemies likeve level 90+/++ nodes in events) and for min turning challenge quests.
any 3 turn clear he will always be the 4th plugsuit servant. besides some cases with triple skadi but then again quick farming is way worse than buster and arts. he's literally almost necessary for 90++ too.
@@LokiLiesGod No, it ain't. He's certainly useful in farming but unless you're minturning stuff it's practically stupid to waste a slot on a servant that is useful for only a turn.
Caster Cu you get for completing fuyuki, and can loop only with a waver(which you can get from SSR ticket), a friend support koyanskaya and Atlas Mystic code
@@GS_CCC how may I ask is Morgan better for 6 slot farming when she cant even equip a BG even with Koyan? If you're talking abt the dumb 3 dps strat, it only works well for lvl 90 and below. In that case, might as well just use the usual double support setup instead, arts is easier to do 6-ce slot for 90 and below nodes.
@@GS_CCC yeah 2/3/3 is easily done with with just your normal double castoria setup, so you don't need Morgan at all, if anything bringing her is just extra handicap since she does so little dmg (for a berserker) compared to your double Castoria buffed looper. That's why it's dumb. You're advertising for her subpar ability to farm these nodes that can easily and more efficiently be done by normal loopers. Who made you think she was so godly that she's more valuable than a freaking meta support? Her DPS is rather sad ngl for a zerker, unless she hits her mods
@@GS_CCC srry heat of the moment, forgor how to read. But if you worry abt Castoria bond, why not just use a bond key and get the SQ instead. It's way more efficient than using Morgan, with how low her dmg is. And looking at Lucas' 900 SQ stash, he might be aiming for only one copy, in which case Morgan is absolutely useless outside of the unkillable comp.
@@muratticugaratti1571 looping as traditionally designed for quick and arts requires np refund. looping is not the act of firing off an np consecutively, be achieving a np using a the np recharge quick and arts nps give. as opposed to "busterlooping" with koyanskaya systems that simply just use a lot of battery skills to charge a unit up. this has always been possible, its just now we have a servant that is actually viable and good for it. as has been coined by those in the community, this would be more like buster reloading. furthermore while castoria lets just about anyone loop, most koyanskaya teams desire a servant that can battery others for 50% like waiver, and a servant that can battery themselves at least 50%, which is not absurdly common with buster units. cuz otherwise with a superscope you need to front 50%np from another servant on top of the two koyanskayas and waiver and superscope. we would not consider double koyanskaya teams loop teams in the same way we would not consider someone looping in the same way we would not consider a super scope kintoki, two castorias, and a plug suit waiver to be looping. thus we would not consider buster looping possible due to busters innate inability to gen np. i hope that explains what i meant.
@@muratticugaratti1571 yeah and koyanskaya is like, really good, except is not akin to a buster castoria, shes technically as limited as someone like skadi when it comes to their farming accesibility, the key difference is that actual output and efficiency of about equal investment in buster reloading is much greater than that of quick looping. as opposed to castoria who by nature of arts works with a lot of servants.
