Really appreciate the lesson but ..Over the decades i’ve noticed many guitar teachers show the "set up" to leads slowly in detail with repeats..Then when they slide up, rush through the difficult parts with quick repeats. ☹️
Excellent lesson, Colton, thanks!. Love the way you breakdown the arrangement, explain all the licks, positioning. Nice work. Also loved the tip about picking behind the bridge pickup. it's a rare good player who can teach as well as you do. -tom
Absolutely amazing. Just picked up my tele today and already learning this. Great job teaching. Live your style. Coming from exclusively acoustic country campfire strumming you made this transition easy. Thank you so much.
I just subscribed and wanted to say thank you for taking the time to show others how to play guitar. This Dwight Yoakam lesson was great since I'm a big fan of that honkey tonk style of playing. Eddy Shaver, the son of Billy Joe Shaver played some in Dwight's band and I loved his playing big time. I wish someone would do some lesson of him playing, Shaver, fast train to Georgia, or any of the great song he did while playing with his dad. thanks
Wish I could like this 1000×. I play this...and I do a good job...but it's never been quite right. I never got the last series of licks right. You demo'd this perfect.
Great job on this Colton just starting to learn the ropes of Country Love it. Could you possibly show me /us how the intro lead and lead for "Heart Aches by number" by Dwight Yoakam is done as well. I love that song to. thx
i havent been able to find any good brake downs on country style picking all these frazes "Chicken pick-in box's ? that make country music country music thank you so much
Man what a help. Thank you! Thank you! Trying to get serious about my Tele playing. Fingers are sore from those bend downs. I know it's not that hard for you to play but me...it's hard as f@*!.
This a song I would never probably play live but I love the main riff in guys do it all the time by Mindy mccready can’t get it and if you would cover the solo also thanks I love your channel been a great help to me
Jen Kirkland I actually just heard that song a few days ago, and I seriously thought about posting a video of some of the guitar parts! That’s a great tune!
Good job but the entire song is in a. Most of your notes on the solos are in the relative minor of F-sharp. You bend the C&G up sharps which makes them fit. Because nothing you played is outside of A B C# D E F# G# A. So that is definitely the correct notes but the theory is incorrect
