First of all, congratulations on your little blessing!!!❤❤❤ Secondly, you did great on her hair. THANK YOU for bringing up hot oil treatments. All of this no oils nonsense kills me. Hell, I started using Blue Magic again and my hair is thriving!!! 😂 I can't tell anybody what to do with their hair, but MINE will always have access to oils and butters.

I think because people are confusing oil with moisture. Oil is a sealant, it has nothing to do with hydration or moisture. It’s sole purpose is like a shield of armor to the harsh environment, over manipulation etc. I promise you, every person that has long thriving healthy hair has oil some where in their regimen.

Hot oil treatment saved my hair a few months ago. I thought my hair was thriving but but just felt dry. I decided on a hot oil treatment and it was fully transformed.. I couldn't believe it myself. So juicy and silky now.

There is nothing like a head full of dehydrated hair. Hot oil treatments are essential for our hair. I still give my hair a hot oil treatment to this day. Great job, and her hair looks very thick and healthy.

I never stopped either and my 4c hair is doing so well. I only do then as needed though and i think thats the main difference. Too many people were overdoing it with the oils that then the figured they don’t need to use them at all.

Oil does not hydrate hair. It moisturizes hair. There’s a difference.

@melaspink2535 Год назад
@@cornellcornell1no. Oil doesn't moisturize at all actually, water does, but oil acts as a great sealant to keep moisture in, which is why its important
@cornellcornell1
@cornellcornell1 Год назад
@@melaspink2535wrong. Learn the difference between occlusives which moisture and hydrators (humectants) Water hydrates. Oils generally seal as they are occlusive (though there are some oils which are small enough to penetrate the skin). Your skin is moisturized by sealing in the water with an occlusive such as oil

I'm glad you're talking about oil treatments again, i'm not sure why people thought it was ok to just walk away from what worked. we didn't arrive at those oil treatments out of the blue, our mothers and grandmothers used them effectively. people just be doing too much these days.

@@KrissypooHairViewMy gut feeling told me I needed a hot oil treatment on my hair. I, on a personal note, don't mind the frizz, I just wanted more volumous and bouncy. I recently took the same steps with brushing my hair as I was washing it and drying it and I made a neat style however it didn't have a bounce or I couldn't shake it even though I was able to run my fingers through it. Do you mind telling me where did I go wrong? 😮

@@paigeturner7513hey you hair may have excess buildup on it which prevented to effectiveness of a treatment your hair cannot absorb water (real moisture) if there’s buildup so try clarifying your hair and shampooing at least 2 times before conditioning and doing hot oil

Love how you styled her hair. You didn't comb the curls out at the end. The curls will eventually fall down naturally and it will be even more gorgeous. So many stylist play with the hair, constantly running their fingers or comb through the finished style. I get afraid that they'll ruin the style by doing that.

Thank you for this info. I’ve been doing a lot of silk presses recently as a stylist and I’ve had a couple clients with that frizzy fried look when I finish..I will definitely start doing hot oil treatments for these clients!
@KrissypooHairView
@KrissypooHairView Год назад
Facts❤️, because as a person that does silkpressing all the time, you’ll have clients that will get the hydration and moisturizing treatments buts it’s still not enough, like you perfectly stated, it looks dried & fried over time, especially if you’re a straight natural. It made me really look back and understand why the old school stylist use to do hot oil treatments/ cholesterol treatments back in the day. We have gotten so far away from oil and scared of it and making it the enemy to where we’re not using it at all and it has to be a balance. So by that fear we are now seeing the affects of not using oil at all as a treatment base.

I'm happy I came across this vid- I do a oil treatment before I wash under a cap few hours while I work and then proceed with my shampoo session, I was thinking I was doing it wrong because people say you shud do it on clean hair, so I'm glad to see it's OK before shampoo. I prefer to roller set hair and maybe blow dry every blue moon, seems we as a whole have gotten away from that but I Do understand in a shop it can take up alot of time but I truly feel rollersetting has helped keep my hair healthy. I get over it when I go get my ends trimmed at the shop quarterly- No shade on beauticians ijs I wish we could get back to that ❤❤❤
@KrissypooHairView
@KrissypooHairView Год назад
Yep 😊there are some stylist that don’t like roller sets but to me they are an amazing go-to for styling the hair in a safe way, as well as it lasting longer because of it being a wet set style. A lot of people can give their take on how to use oil but I feel like as long as you’re not going over board and drowning out your hair and scalp with oil, as well as really listening to what your hair really wants and likes, that’s what’s most important and all that matters. So your doing the right thing 😍❤️

I’ve never done a hot oil treatment on myself. I imagine that I’ve had some done when I used to go to a hairdresser. Before the pandemic, it was easy to find my Jamaican black castor oil and I would apply that with my conditioner, saran wrap my head, wrap a scarf and go to bed. Of course, during the night the heat from my body would warm the oil and I know that made a difference with my results. Obsessing over my ends and taking vitamins regularly now, my hair is longer than it’s ever been in my life! Congratulations and may you both be healthy!!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

What’s the difference between a straighting or silk press? The oil u put in the hair…..
@KrissypooHairView
@KrissypooHairView Год назад
A silkpress is the same as a straightener, they just recreated a name for it in my opinion. When a lot of women started going natural and then started getting they’re hair straightened, they noticed how silky it was compared to when being relaxed. It’s like when something goes viral they recreate a name to something that’s been around for decades. For example, when the Solange braids were popular and back in the day they were just called dookie braids or something else, depending on where your were from. The links to the products used are in my description box of the video

My hair is hair is relaxed and healthy. The right Oils are great for the hair not the scalp. I still do hot oil treatments and baby the hair is soooooo conditioned and silky after washing it out.

Thank you, I was wondering about can I give myself a hot oil treatment with natural 4c hair because my hair is still dry. I really want a really good silk press. I love my natural hair but I would like to try something different and a new look. I don’t want to relax my hair… just a smooth silk press. So, once again I thank you and I’m definitely going to try this.

Oh yes 🥰❤️, and make sure that you’re doing your hydration (allowing your hair to receive water, or I would say, watering your plant😊), and deep conditioning as well.
