Dr. Alessio Fasano, MD presented "How Nutrition Can Impact Microbiome Composition-Permeability-Immune Response Triangulation in The Gastrointestinal Tract Dictating the Balance Between Health And Disease" at the SCDROCKS Conference 2023 hosted by the Specific Carbohydrate Diet Association at Bellevue College.

A pediatric gastroenterologist, Alessio Fasano, MD is head of the Mucosal Immunology and Biology Research Center at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and professor of nutrition at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. In 2000, his group discovered zonulin, a protein associated with gut dysbiosis that regulates intestinal tight junctions. His basic research focuses on bacterial pathogenesis, gut microbiome composition and function in health and disease, the regulation of gut permeability, intestinal mucosal biology and immunology and SARS-CoV2. He is director of the Center for Celiac Research and Treatment at MGH and widely sought after as an expert in celiac disease, intestinal permeability and autoimmune disorders. Dr. Fasano is the author of Gluten Freedom and co-author with Susie Flaherty of Gut Feelings: The Microbiome and Our Health, published in March 2021 by MIT Press.

Excellent talk by the Italian researcher. I didn’t want the presentation to end. He’s great. Thank you for doing these videos. I think you guys need better search engine optimization because in the years of me searching these topics, I’ve never found these videos, and this channel is excellent. I happened to find a link that someone posted in a Facebook group and that’s the only reason I was able to find your channel. This is very useful information that a lot of people need right now.

Are also the gamma delta t cell presents in skin, lungs, brain tissue, ovaries, intestinal tract and thyroid ? What are the difference between alpha beta and gamma delta t cell ?

Is also the obesity associated with metabolic syndrome ( lipidemia/thyroid issue/insuline resistence) ? Since metabolic syndrome (pre diabetes) is associated with Bipolar/schizophrenia/depression is then the Atp (aminoacid syntesis) repsosnible to endocrinology diseases ?

Are the oppiods released by gluten and casein responsible for the Theta waves ? When Il 15 is overexpressed ( non rrsponsive celiac disease) is also Jak2 activated and if yes how ? Are Jak1 Stat3 involved in the development of autoimmunity such Diabetes mellitus 1/Celiac disease ? Does each Stat and Jak promote different interleukins pathway ? Is the Jak Stat through the gamma delta T cell, responsible for the microbiome ? Is the mthfr mutation triggered my mitochondrial dysfunction or are we born already with this mutation?
