Tom Hollander is one of my favorite British actors since I discovered him in the "Pride and Predjudice" movie. He stole every scene he was in. He could not help himself.
Longtime admirer of Tom Hollander's many theatrical skills here. He does comedy ( in "Rev" the Brit TV series, particularly ) he does drama ( "Baptiste" ) he does everyman down on his luck. Tom Hollander is a brilliant actor. Has been for a long, long time. I haven't seen him play Capote yet but I look forward to it, some day. Glad to see him getting some cheers on this side of the pond, at last.
Every day my children are older, I am happier. I love hearing about their observations. I talked to my babies constantly. I got so used to talking to a child constantly, now I can't stop talking even if the child isn't there. 😂
4:07 I can relate to his crucial part of this statement completely...except, I have no human loved ones anymore (& I'd never bring one onto this planet for my personal benefit)...so it's a perpetual struggle.
Has anyone watched Rev? Classic & beautiful Tom Hollander (also he’s a writer on it) whose wife is gorgeously played by the astonishing Olivia Coleman. Other great British actors in it. So funny, sad, inspiring. Highly recommend.
This is why Mr. Colbert has become a really good interviewer. Both this interview and Kirsten Stewart, he's prepared to let the subject just be themselves & the result is charming and individual as you would hope in an entertainment program.
But his is filled with love and he knows he is doing baby talk for a baby-and he wonders when his son stares at him that the little fellow might think he’s an idiot.
Mr. Hollander seemed uncomfortable and unsure of himself in the late night talkshow format. Stephen Colbert with great skill and an innate kindness was able to get him on a topic, his son, that allowed him to become comfortable and open up.
I recently saw an old Johnny Carson show from the 1970's with Truman Capote as one of the guest stars. Tom Hollander has nailed the personification of the author Turman Capote 👍
Heavens to Betsy. Tom is 56, Naomi is 55 and they have a 6 month old baby! ? Alrighty then. I was 50 when my son was 8 and people called my Grandpa at times....get used to it Hahaha
" Us" on PBS is one of the best looks at marriage I've ever seen. Funny, too. Hollander is terrific in it as well as Saskia Reeves. " Rev" is also very good. This gùy is a hard worker.
What a charming guy. I was someone who wasn't excited about Feud: Capote before I saw it. I assumed it would be a shallow Ryan Murphy telling of the tale. But I was so instantly taken by his astonishing performance, and how it has developed over the episodes. A master actor.
Tom's Capote is so good I couldn't recall what he looks like or sounds. I had forgotten that he was in the latest White Lotus. Such an outstanding actor!
Wow I have seen a ton of Capote clips but haven’t watched it yet. He truly transformed into that role. I loved the way Stephen called it a harem of women.
Seeing the movie clip, I immediately thought: this guy sounds right, but he really doesn't LOOK like... Philip Seymour Hoffman. :D I guess that's true greatness - when people have a better recollection of the movie guy, than of the guy the movie guy portrays. (like Val Kilmer in The Doors) ...and I guess there's nothing harder than to play that same guy again, for another actor, after such a landmark performance. We miss you, Philip.
@@l.a.3479 I know, but that's not the point. Hollander even looks more the part, than Hoffman. The point is: I see Hoffman, when I think of Capote - not Capote himself. :D
Massively underrated talent. In Pride and Prejudice (1995) I remembered being so annoyed at that sniveling fiend, Mr. Collins, I vividly recall looking up the actor. Never forgot him.
❤️🔥✨I so LOVE this MAN! His KING GEORGE, made me a Fan many, many moonS ago and have enjoyed his works since. Your TRUMAN C. is delish 🥰✨🎉CONGRATS on your Baby Boy! ✨🙏🏽💞💕💞💕
I've been a fan of his for years. He captured Truman Capote in Feud. Like uncanny. My acting mentor worked with him on Feud for a day. He told me he was very kind and warm. I was like oh thank goodness. He's got an intensity to him while acting but so charming and very funny so I'm very happy he is a gem in person.
