Last week I had a comment that said they felt that Malaska contradicts itself one minute the club goes steep to shallow in the downswing but he wants you to be steep in the downswing. It’s all about using momentum to swing the golf club. This video (I hope) explains it in a little more detail.
Thank you for your support please like and subscribe to the channel.
I’ll catch you next week.

It’s terrific to hear another interpretation of the Malaska move. Especially from a certified instructor

I first saw the Joe move explained by Mike a few years ago, it didn't make sense until I tried it, stand it up, it's the balance point, yet within 50 balls i was not only hitting it further but way more consistently, it's a strange sensation at first, hands in, club head out, basically the swing is all over as you start down as the club levels out and you feel no effect whatsoever. Very easy on the body to which is important for everyone. Especially for a senior like me.

Definitely, it didn’t make senses at the start mainly because it was the total opposite of what was being taught by fellow pros. For me tipping the club swings the club for me and the club just floats through. Most won’t try it but they really should. Thanks for the comment.

I've watched a tin of mikes videos but the way you explain it is much easier for me to understand. I think you do the swing a bit quicker and it's in real time, mike goes very slow and it's hard to understand how does the club tip over. Very well done sir!! Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Thank you so much for your explanation of Malaska Move. By the way does this apply to all kinds of clubs?
@mattbakergolf

It can do (may be not the putter 🤔😉) just depends on your current swing. Thank you for the comment I appreciate it. 👍

Hi, I’m available for lessons at a Studio called The Loft in a town called Ramsbottom in Lancashire. I’m also available online via Skillest. I will be hosting in the future clinics also around the country. 👍

So from top pull down towards right foot ,hands roll over? One instructor had me point butt at ball in downswing, help.

Definitely don’t roll the hands over (Flip) if you hit the corner on the left side you will swing the club and body in sync. In other sports eg baseball, tennis etc you would never lead the handle to hit the ball, you’d miss it. Your hands swing in a path inside the ball and the racket/bat swing out to hit the ball. It’s the same in golf this drill demos that perfectly splitting the hands shows how the hands work inwards so the head can swing out otherwise you can’t get the bat onto the ball. I hope this helps 👍

Does that go with the driver also ? Thanks

Definitely 👍 the swing weight of the club increases in the golf swing so momentum needs to be redirected onto the correct swing arc.

Yes, it can be used to give the swing intention eg swing path also can help to remove tension.

Just make sure with longer clubs you are straightening your left leg and rotating around it, like a tetherball, staying behind the ball.

I honestly feel like instruction needs a different word besides shallow. So when you are demonstrating the club being over the hands so to speak and then you were saying it's shallowing in the downswing. Would there not be a difference between shallowing and flattening? The reason I ask is because shallowing would be on the ark not on the plane correct? So what you were doing was flattening on the plane not shallowing on the Ark by dropping the club down. I'm just confused why so many people use the same word for two completely different things that are happening from a physics standpoint.

Couldn’t agree more, in golf there isn’t a defined dictionary of words and it’s throughout the golf industry. The thing is not even all the Professional Golf Associations in the world have come up with a definitive definition of each word. The key to this video is it’s actually my arms that swing on a flatter plane what we don’t want is the club shaft “as taught by some” to be flat doing this gets the momentum of the club behind the hands meaning you’ll have to roll the hands through impact. So you spot on, I would suggest checking out my coach Malaska Golf he uses correct language or words as he also feels the same as you.

seems like the opposite of every instruction I've heard?
@mattbakergolf
@mattbakergolf Месяц назад
You can play both ways but from experience and years of trying to flatten the shaft in the downswing it’s hard to square the face and time. It worked for Jack Nicklaus, it’s worth a try. Thanks for the comment 🙏
