A great player and a great man off the court too. You won't here many people say a bad word against him. Played in and competed on a level playing field in the best era that we'll ever see. We don't know how lucky we've been to witness the Big 4 generation
@@itiswhatitis8875 I know and I'm glad you agree. I hate it when I see people who think they know what they're talking about saying, "There is no Big 4. It's only the Big 3. Andy only won 3 Slams and so did Warinka." Drives me mad. Stan himself has said he doesn't consider himself part of it as he wasn't consistent enough. Yes they have the same GS but Stan's appearances were few and far between. For a good number of years the final 4 in the majority of tournaments were always Roger, Rafa, Novak and Andy. Hence the Big 4. They probably don't even know that Andy was in 11 Slam finals and even more semi finals. Not to mention his 14 Masters titles. It annoys the hell out of me when people play down his achievements. Give the man the respect he deserves
So loved the ride Andy! Such a rollercoaster of emotions whenever I watched you. I think we all remember exactly where we were when you won Wimbledon in 2013 & 2016. Back to back Gold in the Olympics - what a match in Rio!! Davis Cup, never forget that lob to win the tournament. Classic! World number 1 for 41 weeks I think, which considering the achievements of arguably the best 3 players ever was some amazing feat! Your passion & love for tennis never waned. Enjoy retirement, richly deserved, though I’m sure you would have kept playing for longer if your body hadn’t said “enough now”. Thanks for the incredible memories Andy❤️
Oh my god I don'r know what to say! only thing i get remeber is that 2016 roland garros runner up speech. Even after loosing side he gave a best speech. that's class. and finally I realized that how fast time has gone. we're old now.
OK where to start, he won two Olympics back to back, Wimbledon, American open and was number one in the world. You made tennis worth watching, listen to the young players, listen to your friend Dan.....coach these new upstarts. You chose Ivan that was the best thing you ever did
He's the 4th best player to ever pick up a tennis racket. Just considering pure skill level. And the only one who's peak form was at the same level as peaks of all of the big three.
He did become THE best. When they're saying he was the best in the world, when he was World No.1 for nearly a year in 2016/17, Djokovic agreed. He said "Andy is definitely the best player in the world now." And at that point the injuries kicked-in, and put an end to it all. Who knows what he could have gone on to achieve ...
@@thegroovetube3247 Yeah, I think that season was when he cemented himself as one of the best ever. The level of tennis he was displaying at the time was just as high as Federer's in 2006, Nadal's in 2010 and Novak's in 2011. I wouldn't say higher, but just as high. No other player other than these 4 has ever crossed that line of beyond human tennis. Although Alcaraz and Sinner seem to be on a good track.
@@Jansen97You've got Borg, Sampras, McEnroe, Laver, Lendl, Agassi etc to take into account. I do think Murray is definitely a top 10 player of all time though.
Gordon Reid (in this video) and Alfie Hewitt another Wheelchair tennis player are *criminally* under the radar. Reid has 25 Grand Slam Doubles, Hewitt has 8 grand slam singles and 20 odd doubles titles (many with Reid) and they both have sevela Paralympic medals too.
@@katieeggleston5299 and yes, don't get me wrong, big Murray fan. He's amazing but at some level, I suppose, there are orders of magnitude fewer wheelchair tennis players and perhaps the odds are in your favour to win more often compared to able-bodied athletes (but I'm making excuses here), Hewitt and Reid should be way more recognised.
Wot a guy.... remember Wimbledon so well. Maybe radancanu could look at this and stop feeding off the 10 mill sponsorship and start playing to her potential
