I dont believe Jay cared much about Pimp not liking him. It was business for him at the end of the day and being culturally progressive. That said, besides Dipset, Jay was one of the first mainstream artist to bridge the gap between the north and south. Yet there are southerners who try hard to discredit him for whatever reason. @@cookedeggs Bruh I'm sorry but that's ridiculous. That might have been the situation at a few plantations but definitely not the whole of slavery. I have the actual documents and diaries from my family during the time they were enslaved in North Carolina from 1816 to just after the civil war. It was brutal in the extreme for most slaves especially after the Haitian uprising when white people got scared of what might happen to them. If it was just a contract, what reason would they have to be afraid? Also, you really think the entire northern half of the country would be willing to fight a years long war to get black people out of bad contracts?? Bruh come on.
