“Showdown” is a training film that was sent to Chevrolet dealers in early 1970. It compares some features of the new 1970-1/2 Camaro to the Ford Mustang, Plymouth Barracuda, and Dodge Challenger. This film was intended for internal use at the Chevrolet dealership to educate the sales staff and was not shown publicly.
This RU-vid video was created from an original filmstrip and its companion 33-1/3 vinyl record from my personal collection. This film was not downloaded or copied from another source.
Be sure to check out the other vintage dealer sales training videos that are already uploaded and subscribe to The Steele Garage.
Camaro, Mustang, Barracuda, and Challenger are registered trademarks of the General Motors Corporation, Ford Motor Company, and Chrysler Corp.

Strange how thay say it's available with 450 hp ( presumably the LS6 454) but it turned out that the 375 hp 396 was largest engine you could get. And no mention of the 426 hemi on Barracuda and Challenger.

I caught that, too. Apparently, the LS-6 was initially planned, but was cancelled, and the HEMI hadn't been announced, yet for the Mopar twins.

Glad you like them! I have many more of these dealer films but I need to find time to convert them into a digital format so I can upload them to RU-vid.

Do you have any for the 1970 Corvette and Chevelle with the 454?

I posted a film a couple of months ago that included the ‘70 Camaro and Corvette. 1970 Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette Introduction - Dealer Sales Training Promo Film (350 LT1 & 454) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wiOMzvt3vzk.html I will look for any films that include the ‘70 Chevelle SS. If I find one I’ll try to do it soon because that will appeal to a large audience.

Yes i watched that when you posted it originally. Really enjoy your channel. I used to own a '66 Chevelle SS396 and also a '74 GMC Jimmy that was a full convertible. Would love to see films on those

I have several Cheverolet dealer training films for the '67-'69 Camaros. I've never taken them out of the box so I look forward to converting them to a digital format so I can see them for the first time. I think I'll do them in chronological order, starting with the film introducing the new '67 Camaro.

The mustang looks like a fancy falcon, which is all it really was anyway, compared to the Ferrari inspired 2nd Gen Camaro. No contest.
