“How do we recognize the power of the Holy Spirit?" asked The Rt. Rev. Mary D. Glasspool, Assistant Bishop of New York, in her sermon on Pentecost Sunday. “The Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth, not deception. It brings unity and understanding in the midst of diversity and dividedness. It does not construct barriers,” she preached. The Holy Spirit cannot be bought or sold or possessed, but works in and through us to support life in its fullness. “The Holy Spirit is God’s gift to us, if we will receive it."
