Not many people had Yarde ahead on points at the time of the stoppage but some how two of the three scoring judges did .

@gregtimms9051 that's fraudulent, points should be deducted for that. We have knockdown counts to give chance for opponent to get back on their feets but guess what? that comes with point deduction, so why should spitting of mouth piece go unpunished.

I don't think he spat the gum shield out. He was gassed and fighting with his mouth open and it was knocked out after jabs. The scoring however was something else but he did well, gutted for him really

Don’t believe that beterbiev just likes to wildly just trade punches he’s just good at not getting hit while doing it. When it came time to fight joe smith jr beterbiev definitely wasn’t just going to go in guns blazing he backed up and timed all his punches

@@dantemariscal8679 yes I agree with you in that is the objective but other than someone like Floyd (what a master he was) it’s just unrealistic to hit and not get hit. Just using Tyson Fury as an example I hated the period where he thought he was being slick with that awful backhand jab and constant feints? The day he reverted back to inflicting damage against Wilder in a classic example of handing out more damage than he received was the moment I was back on boarding. It’ll be interesting to see how Bivol fares since Beterbiev does seem to be able to make slick guys like Gvodzyk start trading with him

I think Yarde has more of a durability issue as opposed to a stamina issue. He has proven to go 12 rounds and still be light on his feet against non heavy punchers. He just doesn't have the punch resistance to hang with the elite.

The only lion was Beterbiev, who got the job done before he was robbed on points by bent judges... Yarde looks good against euro level fighters. He got beat up tonight tho by the better man. I could see that the Russian was breaking him down round by round & and beating him up whenever he trapped him on the ropes.. the ending was inevitable.. Most English people know Beterbiev won quite comfortably. We just think Yarde did better than expected. You watch too much media and commentary and assume all English people feel that way. From what I've seen, its maybe 10-20% of English people saying it was very close. Most of us know the truth
