The stigma around aging is so upsetting! I'm 22 and I look at my 60 y/o mother with AWE. Her wrinkles show strength and happiness. Her grey hair is SEXY AF and it makes me so sad that she is self conscious about it :( Women (and Men if we're being real lol) age like fine wine! I can't wait to go grey 🦾

I dyed my hair silver years ago and it was so gorgeous. Now I am back to make brown but I also cant wait to go grey ❤then I won't have to dye my hair anymore

Men exfoliating might help with aging, but the hair probably also protects them from the sun AND the way their hormones change through the life course is far less drastic. And their skin is oilier and the collagen framework is different than women

I'm a current DTR (Diet Technician, Registered) and talk to people all the time about supplements. So here's my PSA for today: If your doctor does not say that you need a specific supplement/vitamin, you don't need it. The FDA does not regulate these and some can interact with medications or send you to the hospital. If you really need a vitamin look for ones that have been evaluated by a third party: USP, NSF, or Consumer Labs. If you do not see those 3 organization names on that bottle you have no idea what's in it! Please be safe and careful, save your money guys.

Taking unnecessary vitamins is just gonna make the pee expensive, if not anything else. It's better to track what we eat and try to increase our vitamin intake with the help of food. And if there's deficiency, consult a doctor

Piyu Sarkar it makes expensive pee out of the water soluble vitamins, but the fat soluble vitamins can actually build up in our fat cells and cause some major problems. I think it’s great Joslyn is taking a prenatal but honestly I think the hair skin and nails vitamins (especially expensive ones like halo) are a scam and definitely not needed. I think most of the “benefits” are a placebo or are happening due to other products

I am 70 and love skincare. i believe women in my age group are forgotten by the industry and most of us have the most disposable incomes of any age group to spend on quality skincare. I am proud to be 70 and feel the need to make the most of my skin that I can.

GH Yes, there is a lot of skincare that is labeled “anti-aging”. However, most of those products are preventative. They are targeted more for people in their 20’s and 30’s so that they will look younger as they age. There is not a lot of skincare or information targeted towards those who are older to help them manage and improve what they currently have. I believe that is what Carrinn and Lawrence are talking about. People who are older are just expected to, “Botox already” and forget it, or just live with it.

12:30 so little bit of science for those wondering if you don’t have enough salts in your body your body won’t hold onto water so you need to take in more electrolytes (which is a salt) so your body actually takes in the water and you don’t just pee it out of your body it’s the reason why athletes drink Gatorade after a game or hard training season and the reason you should be having lemon with your water

I kind of disagree with all this hold on to the water story. My urologist told me to drink a lot so I can pee a lot because what the kidney are doing is, they are "cleaning" up the toxins in the body so by drinking and peeing you clean your body, not from holding on to the water.

Andreea Toma you guys are both right! The kidneys get rid of toxins through urination and we don’t need electrolytes for that, but our cells also need water. Our cells send electrical signals to each other using water with electrolytes in it. If we don’t have enough electrolytes but we keep taking in water, our body will get rid of it because without more electrolytes it can’t really be used effectively. Most of the time, we get enough electrolytes from our food intake, but if we are drinking a ton of water, we may need to supplement electrolytes or else our bodies can’t effectively use that water. I hope that all makes sense

So my husbands hands were always dry and crusty. Just gross. No amount of lotion helps. Until he began drinking a boat load of gatorade daily. I buy the powdered kind and he makes it up at home. NO MORE DRY HANDS! The reason why he started, his doctor gave him a hot tip to drink up those -iums. Sodium, potassium, and (there is one more I forgot). It helps so so much.

Cotton is a plant. It's also biodegradable. I don't think it's a big deal to use cotton pads every day, the Earth will make more. I wouldn't rub my eyes with a washcloth, they're too rough.

I have a question: If we're putting an oil on our face at night or even an oil based moisturiser. Does washing it with just water in the morning get that layer off? Is it effective then to put skincare on your face?

The reason drinking a lot of filtered water actually dehydrated you is because water must have naturally occurring minerals for your body to absorb the hydration. When it has no minerals or electrolytes, it is actually flushing minerals and vitamins from your body. No bueno. My brother ended up in the hospital with dehydration for this exact reason. Adding lemon to filtered water helps because it remineralizes it, to an extent. But it is better to drink natural spring/mineral water when possible.

What do you do about smile lines? Besides botox I am wondering cause no body seems to talk about them and what you can do for them . I wonder because I have one side that's really annoying and my makeup sits weird on that one side.

Heather sargent there’s almost nothing. And Botox isn’t gonna do anything for smile lines, you’d need filler unfortunately. Now I do really love those dissolving needle patches. with medication to help soften them. I think those work. They also have this laser pen, where you make tiny dots on your face and it help tighten and take the lines away even stretch marks and scars. If deft try that. Plasma fibroblast treatments

Because „combination” doesn’t mean anything. It’s just a marketing buzz word. Everybody who has skin has combination skin, unless they are extremely dry or oily, which is rare.

You made me feel a lot better about my dermaplaning. I have a hairy face even with pasty skin and red hair and I love doing it. I do it about every 10-14 days.

Why dose using oil cause you to have exfoliate more?
