The girl in the video was the real-life girlfriend of the late lead singer of INXS Michael Hutchens (spelling is off probably, sorry) Her name Helena Christensen I believe
You women are absolutely cracking me up! I spit my drink out from laughing so hard. It's funny, though, I was going to comment to our host that pretty much every woman of the time had a monstrous crush on Chris Isaak because of this song. Thanks for sharing the comment!
i hear you, i've seen him 4 times already in concert over the years.. great great concerts, great great entertainer him and the entire band... my favorite current male singer.. personal favorite is "can't do a thing to stop me"...
The video, back in the MTV days was a black and white scorcher to watch. Lots of people thought the song became popular based on the video ( a model with Chris ) . But as you can tell it was and is a great song.
I love seeing you so pleasantly surprised after your initial jitters about reacting to an artist you never heard before. This really is a gorgeous song.
Ooooohhhhh...YOU REALLY HAVE TO WATCH THE OFFICIAL VIDEO OF THIS SONG, FILMED ON THE BEACH, WITH MODEL HELENA CHRISTIANSEN ...and CHRIS ISAAK...TO REALLY GET THE FULL EFFECT OF THIS SONG...!!! ROMANTIC...❤❤❤
Chris is also an actor. He was on the show Friends as Phoebes boyfriend. He gets her to play and sing at the library for children. This was an actor role...no singing...quite a talented guy.
Great song. The music video back in the day in 1989 features the beautiful supermodel Helena Christensen and Chris Isaak frolicking on a beach in Hawaii. The video was filmed by famed photographer Herb Ritts (who also shot Janet Jackson's music video for "Love Will Never Do (WIthout You)" from 1990, another great song that I recommend. :-)
This is one of my fave songs eve! His voice is so beautiful and haunting! I was so excited when I saw you reacted to this bc I knew you'd love it! You really need to react to "Roy Orbison- Crying or Only The Lonely" live. You will love it!!!
Chris has never done a bad song, his voice is so unique & his guitar work is great. Recommend "Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing", "Somebody's Crying", "Go Walking Down There", "Graduation Day"
the studio version of this is probably the sexiest song ever created. definitely on my playlist along with a couple others for when i got female company around 😉
Definitely check out Chris Isaak's Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing for another one of his big hits. Very different vibe from this one. That one features the low range of his voice.
Don't be scared about the popular song recommendations. Most of them have survived the test of time in many listeners' ears. Trust in the votes. Even if the occasional one isn't your flavor, the majority probably will be to some extent. Great reaction vid, btw.
Big hit for Chris after the song was used in the 1990 movie Wild At Heart. I remember the video was all over MTV which featured supermodel Helena Christensen rolling around on a beach.
It’s an older song, and it was played a lot back in the day. Chris has a beautiful, haunting voice. He does a similar thing with his voice as LeAnne Rimes in “Blue.”
Chris Issak has so many great songs yet this seems to be the only one anyone ever goes to. Check out “Blue Hotel” “I’m Not Waiting” and “In the Heat of the Jungle” or literally anything else by him. He’s so great!
That's one of those songs with atmosphere! I remember the official video..Chris & some model rolling around in the surf, on the beach. Pretty steamy stuff, especially for someone like me who has a thing for the beach & the ocean. Perfect setting for the song. I agree with others, you need to hear his "Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing".
Man this usually isn’t my kind of music either, but I’ve never turned this song off when it comes on.Its actually a pretty beautiful song.It could almost be soft rock, country, or R&B,whatever it is it’s great stuff. My playlist goes from Zepplin,Metallica,Pink Floyd, and to ones like this.
Hey JB, I enjoyed your honest reaction... It doesn't get better then any Song sung by Chris. And! He Wrote This Song Himself, as he told in an interview a few years back: A gal who was playing that 'Wicked Game' on him, telephoned him late one evening, back in 1989... She demanded too drive to his place that night, even though he was aware of her game! So she did, and, in the time it took her too drive to his place... He Wrote This Song! Now That's Talent!
Chris is quite popular in Australia. Great singer, guitar player and highly entertaining and funny in a live show. His voice can really soar (Let me down easy/Don't leave me on my own), but he can rock too (Blue Hotel). Quite an original artist in my opinion.
Chris Isaac came through Stockton, CA (before he blew up) and my dad's friend said his friend's cousin Chris was playing at a house party. He didn't attend. He told me he wishes he could have met such a great artist looking back at a missed opportunity. He also got to see Jewel when she was in San Diego at a coffee shop. She was from Alaska and was homeless until she got her hits.
There is also a 16 year old girl that recently did a cover of this named Diana Ankudinova. Probably the most unusual beautiful female voice I've ever heard. Highly recommend.
JB don’t be scared man you’re heading down a great path, I enjoy listening to all types of music, but I think 60s and 70s you can’t go wrong with that music no autotune no computers just pure talent and instruments. You tune in to different types of voices try listening to one of the great all-time 60s bands Creedence Clearwater revival, Great voices and instrumental skills, tons of hits,I’ll give you a few, Born on the Bayou, I put a spell on you, proud Mary. Any comments that you may receive about Creedence Clearwater Revival songs you won’t go wrong listening to any of them.Enjoy
It’s weird how im 58.. I only first heard this a few months ago… and it’s been out for better than a decade… how does that happen with such a fantastic beautiful song
The memories that this channel brings back to me is amazing so much music i have forgotten over the years. It is great to see someone else enjoy it as much as i did and now still do. I have watched so many of your reactions and you never seem to fail in your choice of artists. Your channel is very much appreciated and thank you for time and effort in creating these reactions. Cheers from dublin ireland from a long time subscriber slainte.
I wanted to nudge you to say “no worries, mate!” I knew before I opened the clip that you were really, really going to enjoy this one!! I’ve seen him in concert ; he wore a suit made of “mirror balls” mosaic tiles! Most Excellent!!!!
No u didn't!!!!. I honestly fell in love with this song when I was 15 and I'm not going to tell you how many years ago that was! Dude you're fn killin it!!! I want to adopt you! And then add a few extra!!
i love that i know how your going to react when you hear my generations great music. im 64..a 70s rocker chick.. great music is great music, doesnt matter when it comes out, but hell, we had it great! lol
He's so amazing. If you like Elvis and Roy Orbison you'll surely love Chris Isaak. He's such a smooth dude. Every live performance is absolute perfection.
Dude never be afraid of the music lol great reaction for a great choice. This song came out and my oldest son who was like 2 at the time would stand in front of the stereo or t.v. everytime it came on and would harmonize with it on the long notes it was really cool and he turned out to be the kid who played piano and trumpet when he got older, always think of him when I hear this song...♡
wow...... powerful song.... love, love. love your reaction as it was obviously out of your comfort zone at the beginning. well done on giving it a go, you found the beauty and passion at the end
I haven't followed you for long, but I have a feeling you would really like Simon and Garfunkel. That's where the original "Sound of Silence" comes from. Paul Simon's lyrics are beautiful.
Simon and Garfunkel are iconic. Love them! He has already done a reaction to Disturbed's version of "Sound of Silence": ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Z0DsWnnq1g0.html
@@kaseythompson4670 that's a fantastic version and the video is great. I've seen a few reactions to this now, and most don't seem to realize who wrote it. Our man here would surely appreciate its history. I keep pushing Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave, phenomenal lyricists both.
