Ahh hmmm.. not to take away from this guy. He literally passed a grip of history from Marion Ave until he got to JHS 45. There is no Columbus statue there, it was moved in the 90s to a park by saint barn.

I love this so much. I went to Christopher Columbus High School. I was a small kid growing up in the Belmont section of the Bronx in the 90s & I remember how different it was even then from what it’s like now. Thank you AK. This was a nice tour of my old neighborhood.

I’m really enjoying this video, Mr. Mancuso is so knowledgeable about the neighborhood I guess because he’s lived there. What Is it about mothers, when he was talking about his mother calling him my mom was the same. I swear mothers know how to make their voices be heard for a long way.

Good old days and it was heart warming to see him seeing his old friends he haven’t seen for a long time. If I go back home I’ll cry I feel it I have to go back to East New York Brooklyn. And that church omggg sooo good that things are still there. It was upsetting to see that the wall with the flag for peace is gone but I do wish this was live I loved this video.

As a kid I lived in east treamont and the concourse and used to walk with my dad to Fordham road abs back and what’s funny was we were walking by Fordham University once and since the campus is so big I thought it was a park and tried to get it and was stopped by security Funny how decades later I graduated from there ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Born and raised in the Bronx and now live out of state. Soundview, Lambert and Co-op city., Rice High school. When me and my best friend who was Puerto Rican would go through Little Italy to meet our other friend who was Italian, This is the late 70's. We would get stopped all the time and have to give his name before they would let us continue. Good times in NYC. Thank you Ak

Oh lawd, remember shopping at Alexander's and Dollar Savings Bank and the Paradise movie theatre. By the time I moved to the Bronx, the movie theater was already closed. Good times! Sears was at Fordham & Webster Ave. Used to shop there to.

Ak, love the stories from these old timers, you could turn it into a series. I met an old timer once in central park and talked to the gentlemen for about an hour, he had a lot of great stories from the past about manhattan and central park, I really enjoyed the talk with the gentlemen.

Appreciate that you make the effort to be inclusive by bringing a diversity of viewpoints to your channel. Oh my gosh I remember Fordham, I was born at the Bronx and I had some young memories when I was a young child living in the bronx back in the early 90's and I remember shopping at Fordham so much discount store and also I have family in the Bronx from my father side of the family, which I'm not connected with them anymore but now I live in New Jersey and rise in NJ NOW!

I also graduated in 1975 from high school. My dad who was from Brooklyn was born in 1927 used to tell stories about Brooklyn all his life. Much the same as Rich. I enjoyed this vid. Even when he got some things wrong it was right. It is always good to see the world thru someone else's eyes.

I grew up in Fordham. There are so many positive comments I have about this video . The one thing I will comment on now is. That you said at the end of this video is that Arthur Ave was a safe place, and the locals were protected. Yes, they were, my grandmother lived on Hoffman. She told me how the locals were safe and trouble in general just did not happen there. You could go out late night or early morning not a problem you were safe. Great video.

I moved to the Bronx because my husband was raised here. I loved this video and i love this borough. Btw, we mexicans joke about the fact that there are so many of us in Little Italy... we say it is because we saw the italian flag and thought it was the mexican flag lol. Thanks for the video.

Absolutely loved this video. Rich was a great guide. I just wanted to add that RKO was demolished in 1987. I remember the last time I went to the RKO on a regular basis was 1983. Also, I realized that he didn’t mention Woolworth’s on Fordham RD. I moved out of the Bronx in 1991. What an amazing blast from the past for me. Thank you!

It’s a new decade and a new generation so of course things are gonna change you have to get with the generation. It feels like home to this generation like how it felt like home in your generation.
