Jexus has a synth in his skull. This allows him to talk to other synths on a level others cannot. These are sounds I could imagine an alien would create if he had a pro 3. I LOVE my pro 3. I’ve owned a few Dave smiths and this synth is another world all to itself and Jexus is the perfect integrated sonic orchestrator. The most creative sound designer I’ve ever encountered. It’s as if the synth in his brain has the ability to give any synth a split personality
I love my Pro 3, the only thing it needs is better choice of envelopes contours. Kind of bugs me that sequential don’t have Lfo fade in as well, sure it’s not that hard to set that up using an envelope, but such a common mod would be nice to have it hard patched. Love to see the Take 5 or Nymphes get a seeing to.
Yep, that's what I mentioned in my write-up, that I had to kind of "create" my own envelope contours in the mod matrix sounds-for-synths.com/sequential_pro3
I read a similar comment about the evolver, and the workaround is to use recursive modulation on envelope. You can route the an envelope to affect its own attack/decay.
Hey Jexus! Big time fan, first time commenter. What’s your favorite monosynth? I have a Korg MS-20 which I like for experimentation and exploration. However, I’m loving the sound of the PRO 3, Matrixbrute and Subsequent 37. The PRO 3 seems to have the best UI and most versatile sound.
Hey, welcome! I'd agree the Pro-3 seems to sound most versatile, but as far as the UI goes, I'd say the Matrixbrute is a true knob-per-function synth and that makes its interface the best / easiest. The SUB-37 sounds most "traditionally synthetic" out of all three (if you know what I mean... many people say Arturia sounds "metallic" or has an "organ" sound to it and they hate it for that).

While the MS-20 is a great device for experimenting, I can’t help but feel like adding a synth with presets would help workflow a bit.
Jexus, my comment disappears for some reason, maybe because of a nested link to the Sequential forum (?), I have already removed it. I read your review about the Pro-3, and you mentioned the Pro-2 and its oscillators. I haven't played Pro-2, but I have a Prophet-12. As you know, they have the same architecture, except for the filter and sequencer (the P-12 has a customizable arpeggiator, which is essentially a real sequencer). You really should try the Pro-2/P-12 because of its very flexible oscillators. Shape Mod on each of the digital oscillators gives hundreds of new waves. I made a graphical table of waves and spectrum of Prophet-12/Pro-2, it is on the Sequential/Prophet-12 forum, giving an idea of the abilities of 1 oscillator (and there are 4 + FM, AM, sync). These are not all the waves that can be obtained, but I have depicted 248 unique waves that are least similar to each other. If you ever buy a Pro-2/P-12, I hope this table will be useful to you, and my information will push you to buy a Pro-2/P-12. Thank you for your videos!
Thanks for the info! Yes, I want to try the Pro-2 and the Prophet 12 and every other synth out there but I feel like a lifetime is not enough to do this! 😅
Currently on my second Pro 3. First one was an SE and suffered from the flickering LEDs (flickering where they aren’t supposed to), and now have the regular edition and it’s frozen twice, occasionally buttons become unresponsive, and the screen has frozen twice. I don’t know… it sounds great but I’m not very confident in the electronics. Will likely return it before that’s no longer possible.
Unfortunately, "Made in USA" was never really a quality feature when it comes to electronics. I had comparable issues with my gear from Moog and Sequential as well.

I wish you'd make a preset bank for the Behringer DeepMind. I have many analog synths and it's still one of my favorite, like the true successor of the Roland Junos.
Hi. I don't see any of your comments in the "held for review" section. Your last one (from 1 month ago) was held up for whatever reason but I approved it.
I had a Wavestate for a year. It's a nice machine but it never sounded anywhere near as warm and dirty as this. Never mind the overwhelming sequencing and layering architecture which just lead to sound design paralysis - you never get anything done.
Are you deaf????? Is it a joke? Seriously. It would be great if you could visit an audiologist. Maybe your insurance will pay for it, you never know...
