► WTF Is... - Mad Max ? 

This still is a nice little part of the internet. The man may have passed, but the value, and message, remain.

Here we are, 2020, still convincing me to give a game a shot. May your content live forever.

I appreciate this style of review, giving something like a game an arbitrary number is a little silly. I felt like this explained the game without any spoilers and let me make my own personal decision on whether or not to get the game.

Pretty sure that WB's bundling this with the Mad Max films on Steam is also a first too...

RIP...im playing mad max now in 2019

Even today, when I feel like going back to a game, I find myself asking “WTF would John think?” And then I find myself here in the bastion of consumer advice that he built, and I mourn that another stone will never be added.

I bought this game at release specifically because of TB's videos on it. I had never been aware of the Mad Max franchise until that point, so I looked into the movies and am now a huge fan. I just last week finally finished the game, 100% (aside from completing all the races to unlock the full vehicle collection). It took me a long time, and towards the end, I got nostalgic for this video. The criticisms of the scrap reward system aren't unfounded, but as TB so rightly points out, it makes sense in context of the game, and towards the end, I had more scrap than I could ever hope to use. Yet I still felt compelled to loot all of the scrap locations, because every, single, one, FEELS unique. There are common repeated ideas, but each one feels like a new discovery, either a bit of world-building, or puzzle solving, or a surprising combat encounter like from the dudes that pop out of the sand. It's small touches, and I can see how it might be too repetitive for most people, but I really appreciated it, the game was FUN, so DOING the tasks was more rewarding than the rewards themselves. Thanks, John, for convincing me to get a game that has ultimately become one of my favourite games of all time. Rest in peace

I love this game, the post apocalyptic setting. A portent of similar things to come.

I absolutely love this game. Finished it 100% on ps4 now Im doing the same on Steam :) If you are Mad Max fan you need to try this ! Best movie based game in my opinion. I have two music tributes of this game already.

Unlike your typical Ubisoft sandbox where you do alot of side mission for useless upgrade (For example Watch Dog) Mad Max reward you more for doing side quest, stay out exploring You feel stronger in fight, earn more Your car feel stronger, faster and better handling You help stronghold collecting stuffs and watch as it changing, more people, better living space, people attitude change "But it is tedious doing the same thing over and over!" But people doesn't complain playing outpost liberate simulator Far Cry, how hypocrite You would think that the open world of the sandiest sandbox game would be boring, but no Each territory have a different look to it, it is still post apocalyptic Australia (the sea bed around Australia to be more precise, all ocean dry up xD) Each enemy camp is different, giving you a different layout to explore This game is amazing Oh and i actually buy the game after i finish it via crack version to play even more

The "thunderpoon"? That's one of those names that they either didn't think through at all or did knowing full well the implications such as the bad jokes made at the name's expense like "Thunderpoon? Oddly enough I knew a girl in high school with that nickname. She was very popular with the football team for some reason."

I refunded cyberpunk 1month ago. I think current state Mad max is very balanced. In fun and challenging the player do stuff.

man..just one month after this video was uploaded, he learned he had inoperable stage 4 cancer and 2-3 years to live. so sad.

I bought this game because of this review and he was right. I enjoy it, but I can understand why people find it to be a chore. I thought the game was atmospheric enough to make it feel like I was role playing as a wastelander in a way most RPGs fail at.

Listen i have OCD and this game is perfect for me.....over and over and over and over and over etc.......Also you say the panorama looks great.....thats the big nothing, and maybe you should know that its actually real and not rendered....wanna go there? Be near the edge of the map when a storm hits and head out into that great expanse......then realise that the sheer size of the game was supposed to be x 10 bigger than we eventually recieved. If you adore being out there like i do....stay away from the perameters of the original map cos the death zone will kill you. There is an edge to the game which is literally miles away.....but if you fall off its down to the salt flats, and that goes on forever......

I didn't realize the different body's feature different qualities, ❤️️ this game! I haven't been able to stop playing for about a week! Got if free off PS4, it's just fun! get the suspension and Harpoon max! I grew up on these films, you feel like you're Mad Max! 💥 💥 💥

Love forever

Volition ability increases how much scrap you get. Also having cleanup crews makes collecting scrap easier, just bash and blowup cars and continue, and the scrap would add up. When you interact with an unfinished project, it will mark are the locations for you, so you really don't have to run all over to find the project parts.

You know whats funny this game also having the same problem as the just cause series exactly the same problems ... its when the board of ditectors is making a game and not the develipers... it has the exact same plus and minus points as just cause fun but soon repetitive and to much chaos in fights

painful to watch you trying to conquer that bridge against flamethrowers when there is just a ladder on the middle pillar. talking to the purple marked guys is actually worth for info like that^^

really not big on that kind of combat (arkam like) - Never really been. tried it in shadows of modor, but it's really fucking dull - it's basicly something telltale games could pull off -.-' "Press X! Yay - you pressed X!" woopdifuckingdoo......

I feel like Mad Max is a bad Arkham Knight
