I'm currently building a 12x16 shed and I've learned a lot watching your videos. I'm very impressed with your work. Like you, I'm doing it alone, so it's slow going. One suggestion for future projects. A router with a flush cut bit works wonders for cutting out doors and windows.

I have a router with a flush cut bit and never thought of using it...great tip!

When framing out your upper doorway in loft area, use the king stud, and Jack stud method

It's coming together well! You're a pro at doing carpentry! I'm a remedial carpenter.... Can't wait to see it done!

I'm far from a pro...but good enough to make this stay together for a while

Dang I wish I seen this before I built my shed! I just got done sheathing the roof and doing the siding in the gables. It would be nice to have access to my trusses for my snow boards and gun cases! I might be changing my design

Hi Rob, Enjoy your content, your shed is shaping up good. Looking forward to your radio content. Do you have any plans to install a dipole or tower someday? Thanks, 73 Jon

I have a dipole up now but plan to rebuild it in the spring. I have no plans for a tower in the foreseeable future

Coming along great there Rob. If you get into building more sheds you might want to invest in a saws-all or a router and a flush cut trim bit so you can just put the siding up once and cut your openings out later. Thumbs up!

I have a saws all but can't cut a straight line to save my life. I think this will be the last shed I build...too much work! I saw your post on hitting 146,520 miles... congrats on the milestone!

Any reason for no Z flashing between sections of panels? Just curious.
@SevenFortyOne
@SevenFortyOne Год назад
No reason other than I didn't think about it when constructing this. As I said in the video, I'm not a carpenter.

@@SevenFortyOne like I said I was just curious. I’m building a shed now and like to watch videos to ensure I’m doing “best practice”. Your shed looks great, I have watched a few of your videos!
@SevenFortyOne
@SevenFortyOne Год назад
No worries...I did the same before building mine. I also checked a local shed place and didn't see any flashing on their sheds either. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to add it, it will just add some cost to your build

Though your method will probably be ok, the other method is more structurally stronger
