I had to pause in the middle of the video earlier, and I'm now watching the end before bed. I just wanted to say that I love all of the artwork in this; the inspiring sketches and the beautiful finished painting. So many subtle colours and details in that painting, it's just gorgeous...and there's nothing wrong with being a Slow Artist! Let's embrace it. :)
I too am a slow artist. Aint no stressing! You still create beautiful artworks. Not everything in life requires ruthless corporate efficiency. Some things are much much better slow grown! ❤
Thankyou Kriksis I so enjoyed watching your slow painting. I am a slow painter too! The pace and filming, the colours in your interior are just lovely 🌟
Loved each day of sketching ...I'm actually a fast artist and your video showed the beauty of slow art....it's actually very intentional and mindful ...I'm going to slow down too ❤
The new layout makes your studio feel a lot more spacious than before. Very comfortable for a slow artist.😁 Could you please leave a link for your 'One sketch a day' journal? Thank you
Slow artist,I love how the robin tapped the window like he was trying to get your attention.I re-arranged my studio space as well at the start of January and it's motivating to my creativity.I love that the girl skating with the fox and wolf is based on a story from your mother.I think as an artist you find a pace of working that suits the way you like to paint, that gives you time to really create the image you had in your head The oil pastels worked really well for the bird sketches.Draeibg every day is a great way to get better with your work it's an ongoing learning curve with each new sketch, ands it's great to achieve a creative goal each day.I love the painting of the girl painting the pigeon and that the idea was sparked from your everyday sketching.I think your bird book is going to look amazing.(Matt)P.s I love the idea of ice skating foxes! I also work really slowly it just suits how I create my art
Hello Matt! Thank you for your kind words, I always look up to your comments and appreciate them. Thank you for sharing that you rearranged studio space as well to motivate creativity. So true about how our daily tasks play as inspiration for upcoming artworks. :) I am happy for the support on my channel and that I can actually do my own picture book, I think having personal projects is something every artist must have, even if for a little bit. Have a good day!
@@kriksis I like you when I go into my studio to work, light a candle and an oil burner to help create a calming working feeling so I can work. I always make time each day too work in my sketchbook,it helps me crustalise ideas but also gets my creativityy going. I have set myself a major project to do this year as well..(matt) P.s an ice skating fox/wolf would make a great little sticker design....
Slow Artist 😊 I enjoyed watching this video Kriksis. I watch Natasha Newton and decided to check out your channel. Your studio is so lovely, what wonderful inspiration with all of your bird friends visiting.
you have such a beautiful unique style. i really love that last picture with the girl drawing the pigeon. that for sure should become a print. and i love the new set up. it makes the space look bigger and the view from the window is super nice. xo
slow artist….i always stay till the end. your videos are so interesting and cozy to watch, i look forward to seeing them because i know i will be fully captivated and relaxed. keep it up blooome xo
I bought my first Moleskine sketchbook in Jan 2023 and it’s now my fav sketchbook for mix media for sure. really solid choice. My other fav sketchbook is the Midori Cotton. They both compliment each other. Great effort putting all this video together!!!!❤
Thank you Kriksis ❤ Beautiful video. SLOW ARTIST. Yes, I think I am also a slow artist. I love being outside and sketching quickly, but I also enjoy the process of revisiting a sketch or building up a drawing.
Slow artist. Your studio looks beautiful after the rearrange! I loved peeking into your sketch a day book. This video was so lovely to watch, and the feeling of calm and inspiration it invoked.
I just discovered you, i love what you do. Thank you for sharing, you are inspiring. Ihope my message is translate well...I'm from Quebec and i don't speak english very well ☺
Hello Karine! Welcome here, happy you found my Chanel and found it inspiring! Also no worries about language.By the way English is not my native language as well. :)
Dear kriksis, you inspired me so much. I loved the idea of making art every day and after your video i want to challenge myself to success like you. I usually give up because im also slow artist too. Wish my luck. FYI i love your new wall :)
Thank you for this lovely, cozy, slow artist video. I love the skater with foxes most, but everything is charming. A piece of wax paper or glassine will prevent the oil pastels from smearing. I like that you are challenging yourself to try new things and look at things in a new way. It is always a pleasure to spend time with you and your art😘
Slow artist ❤ me too! This video showed up in the new for you feed… and I’m so glad it did! Subscribed and I will now go back and watch your others. I’m a big fan of textured watercolor paper for the depth and details… and I love the smoother options for line work. I haven’t found a happy medium yet so I often use both too but it’s nice to hear other artists mulling these things over. See you next time!
Lovely inspiring video. I loved the atmosphere in your painting corner and your color palettes. I also love painting birds and I'm also a slow artist. Well, more a mother and wife these days with my art supplies at the kitchen table while peeling potatoes for dinner.
I’m a slow artist too🐢it’s nice to know one painting a week is other artists speed as well. I’ve started combining it with daily sketches as well to experiment and develop more ideas
You’re a thoughtful artist rather than a slow artist. Your paintings and sketches have a strong atmosphere with the very distinctive colour palette that you choose. Thank you for sharing your process. 😊❤
Did you knit your sweaters? (this is the first of your videos I've watched...) Looking forward to watching more an dmore of your gentle painting videos...
Your birds are so beautiful. Your skill and artistry...oh so fine. The attention to Art every day will allow you focus on new subjects, techniques ,art mediums, etc. What a lovely video!! I wold love to subscribe and watch your progress.❤ Keep going, you're already a talented artist!
Thank you Linda for your kind words! I'm doing one-sketch-a-day project this year and working on bird book that will self publish in this summer. I will keep updates in my upcoming videos. :) Thank you for coming to my channel and watching the process!
Slow artist! Lovely video Kriksis ❤. You may be slow but your work is enchanting. Have you moved out of the little cabin you were staying in and into somewhere more substantial? I do hope so. Happy New Year.
This is such a lovely video, Kriksis, thank you. It’s a good reminder to us. So often I don’t make the time to do any art and then wonder why I feel a bit flat. Creativity is king. :-]
I love working with watercolours and I love how you are intuitive with your process taking time slowing down for your artwork being patient all matters for those it matters for I always take my time it's really important to me ❤
I agree there is definitely nothing wrong with working at a slower pace or being what social media would consider a slow artist. I am definitely in the slower paced category. I love the illustration of the pigeon so far!
I love your foxes...do you use a reference photo or ...just from your head?...thanks...love to know the paints you use for your pigeon and skating paintings...thanks...your studio is nice now...with the window to the side...Janis
I’m loving your art, being a slow artist shows in all the lovely detail you put in. I was fascinated watching you build up your layers, that’s something I struggle with but I’m going to keep trying until I get it right. Xx
Slow artist too and loved to watch process and sketches and watercolour illustrations ❤...so nice to see your beautiful work so heartfelt with birds and animals...has inspired me to not destroy images in my sketchbook where I tried something outside my comfort zone... thanks for sharing. It's late and I'm off to bed in Canada. ❤😊❤❤
Slow artist, I watched till the end! Lovely video, I love watching art process videos - much more interesting than art haul videos. Great art work. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Kriksis..Greetings from Canada!! .I'm new here!! I just want to say that I am enjoying your muted colour palette. What brand of paints do you use? Do you have a video about how you selected your palette? I love the two paintings that you did in this video. I like how you have styled up your back wall, but I think it would be even better if you were to do an a collection of images that inspire you or even a collection of your completed work.
This was such a pleasurable and fabulous video to watch. Thank you so much. And I don’t know how to spell that word you said to write if we watched to the end. Soratoh? 😂
Thank you! I used pith supply oroblanco sketchbook to finish it (and do winter art compositions) Started A4 moleskin art sketchbook with oil pastels For one-sketch-a-day used one-sketch -a-day visual journal To sketch pigeon sketches I used sketchbook from Natasha Newton shop(I think she is not selling them anymore though) Papers for final illustrations Arches 300gsm Coldpress for winter scene. Hotpress for pigeon artwork.
Hello, I just found your channel and I love the calm, and simplicity of your art, yet it does say so much about. I love it. In one of your videos you use what I think it was a copy , scanner ?, can you do a video showing how you safe your art in the computer or what technical devices do you use to print and help you you with your are?, is the scanner, or device for transferring your work to the computer. Thanks.
Thank you so much for your kind words! Yes I do use scanner to scan pictures to order art prints. Scanner I use is - Canon Lide210, it's quite compact and in A4size. It can get up to 600 resolution.
