I have the xf650 and I have 400 miles on it, only thing I would say is that it's a big bike and quite heavy, also the tyres are very noisy for road use. As for the hand throttle and power restrictions, they are east to overcome and it's very unlikely that anyone will notice. Electric bikes are great fun I love mine. Great review Mark.
I would like to see how you derestrict it and how it rides with a throttle, like they seem to do everywhere else but backwards Britain. No wonder we are falling behind everywhere else. Great vlog Mark, as concise as ever.....
E-bikes are the same in terms of restrictions all over the European Union. They are limited to 25kph after which the electric motor assist cuts out. You can buy unrestricted ones but they count as an electric motorcycle and will have to be registered etc as would a ice machine.
@@stevetaylor8698 I don't doubt that's true, but in Spain hire bikes seem to be generally unrestricted and are usually throttle operated. It's probably illegal, but that's Spain for you.
I don't know any ebike users that actually use 250w legal ones. My area in south Wales is extremely hilly 250w is absolutely no good unless I want to travel everywhere at 5mph. My 1000w bike does those same hills at 15mph, 20 if I'm helping the motor out as well by pedalling.
@@JudeTheRU-vidPoopersubscribe I'm using a 250 watt mid drive derestricted ebike, cadence sensor, and I am fed up with it for being so slow. Mind you I am used to riding high powered motorbikes... And don't like being overtaken very much... Changing to the Ranger most likely.
Thorough review, thanks. I haven't seen what the front and rear suspension travel is. The rear pivot looks beefy as hell, looks good. The front axle dropouts look a little sketchy with the smaller bolts holding the axle in place. Overall, it appears to be very well made and the handling looks impressive, from what I've seen.
Hi Mark a very informative video thanks alot you helped me to decide in buying one , how long did it take from ordering to delivery ? i,m in the UK also :)
Doubters should try one, e-bikes are amazing and you do get s good workout as Marc said. Good review Marc but when talking about individual fit the distance between the seat post centre and the bars centre is as important as seat height. That body stretch can become very uncomfortable on a long ride if for example your reach is too stretched, sore back and wrists are the result. But they are crazy expensive.
Thanks...I've been e bike converted for years...I got my first e mtb six years ago and people were like oh that's cheating etc ...but now nearly every other bike off road I see is an e bike Best wishes mark
I'm liking this Mark could have some good fun on this one these are going to catch on big time especially if like most things they get cheaper like most things tend too. Interested to know what an unrestricted one would be like ,so do you have to keep peddling then to have the power ? And dose it recharge when going down hill ?👌👍good review .
Hi unrestricted is like night and day Yes you have to keep pedalling but very lightly...no this one doesn't recharge downhill some do like engwe bikes but it's negligible Best wishes mark
I like the orange and white 🤍, tell us, did you fall off it 😂. Looks a great bit of kit, pricey though, you didn't say what the weight was except 'heavy', I think I prefer the last ebike you trialed....was wondering how to get one on the ride to work sceem...(can't spell)... My thoughts overall on electric stuff, great for Hoover's , cycles and scooters...not much good for motorbikes 😆 definitely not cars 😜😆 great review Mark as always 👏 x
Nice bike but I think I can make one up much cheaper and to my specs. The more people like you & Dude Stuff etc on RU-vid helps give the rest of us the knowledge we need. I'd like to make a sleeper ebike so to most people it looks old and rusty so it's less likely to be targeted by thieves. I couldn't lock this up iny area and except it to be there when I get back.
Save yourself £1200 and buy the Shengmilo MX03, I have put 2500 miles on one of these, with just a replacement rear tyre, the front and rear shocks on both these bikes are not up to any serious off-road use, but that's not what they are about, you would go for a mid drive bike with quality components if that's what you want, but for road use with some very light trails, they are very good, but £2600 is too much for such a bike, incidentally the comfort commented on is due to the tyres.
@@markpulling12 I notice the question of derestricting the motor has come up, I get asked this at least once a week, for those interested the bike I refer to the MX03 will do 28 mph without you peddling, using the hand throttle, this is obviously going to get you noticed, restricted it's approx 16 mph, complying with UK law, when you can travel 30 miles, the thing to remember if you want assistance, and particularly if you have hills on your commute, the torque from the motor derestricted will still have you at the top of those hills with very little effort.
It's been a decade since I was into mountainbiking but I see the manufacturers are still shady even when the bikes are the price of a kidney. Don't get me wrong, it looks nice but for that money they could've put a decent kit on the bike... the rear derailleur is second to worst (last) out of 8 total shimano mtb groupsets (or out of 10 depending if you count Zee and Saint) for that price it should have at least been SLX. When I see things like that it makes me wonder about the quality of that (unbranded?) rear shock, front forks definitely, the brakes, etc. I might be a bit cynical but for 3 grand it is prudent to have a bit of a cynical thorough look at a bike.
Most all other of these fat tire ebikes on the market have it way worse with 14t to 32t 7 speed Tourney derailers with 44t chain rings, and the cheaper over the grip thumb shifters. So the 11-32 9 speed Altus with a 52t chain ring is a big improvement over the others in my opinion, but then, the other bikes don't cost as much.
I just received mine, indeed the pedaling assistance with the torque sensor is great, but it's such a shame that the throttle grip is clamped at 28mph (32km/h) and that it is impossible to unclamp (disconnecting the wire from the controller and modifying the speed in the settings does not change anything)
Hi that's interesting that your getting 28 mph in throttle...I've read on the Facebook pages everyone is getting 20 mph on throttle alone ...maybe it's different for other countries Personally I'd be happy with 28 mph as it's a big heavy bike Thanks for the comment Mark
Great review Mark, dipping my toe in these ebikes and like this one a lot. I've noticed their website says 2 versions, a 250W and 750W motor, I believe the 750 would be illegal for UK roads but how much slower is the 250W in comparison? Thanks Si.
Hi Simon when you order the 250 w version it's ACTUALLY the 750 w motor but just electronically capped with simply one wire on the controller which is inside the frame at the bottom ...it still goes very well in restricted form Best wishes mark
@@simonfaulkner2670Cyrusher are presenting 2 new models in the US shortly which might lead to some offer on the Ranger when the season kicks in here in the UK.
I love this bike but is it worth the cost increase? That is the only thing that is keeping me from pulling the trigger. It is $1000 more than their other 26" all terrain bikes.
It is amazing to ride with a huge battery the range is better than the xf900 ...I'm sure the price will come down soon ...I'd say it's much better than the others ...it has better suspension Best wishes mark
Two things. What pressure or psi have you got the tyres set at as I’ve got mine low with a bit of give. The next is can you do a short video on the best way to setup the shocks please. 16:24
Hi Andrew I ride on and off road so I've set mine at 15 psi but that's personal thing ...to set sag get on the bike ..with the blue ring pushed up to the top of the shock ..sit on the bike gently and it should sink about a third of the travel...add air or preload to adjust Cheers mark
@@markpulling12 thank you. I slightly remember doing the same Ona set of air shocks years ago. Would be great to see a video as not many people do them about this these days.
How does this compare in power with the 6k-10k ebikes? outside of those being way ligther which i dont care about, im rly curious on gettin ur opinion. Im riding a focus jam 2018, which im thiking about upgrading to either this or something else, tho ill proly go to someone to unrestriet it before actually buying smth new
Hi mark. I’m looking for something similar to this but with a 400lbs load not 330 I’m 6.5 ft. Uk road legal just to get to work no off roading. But also don’t want to snap the frame going off a six inch curb lol. Cycle to work scheme under 2000 any help would be great. I’ve looked all over found himiway zebra but they don’t work with scheme I found others but not uk road legal. Thank you I’m desperate to find a good reliable brand
Hi ..I think a lot of the main brands like specialised , haibike, trek may be over your £2000 limit ...does the cycle to work scheme do used bikes ..? ... failing that...other brands that come to mind are ADO , engwe , decathlon or Halfords...the cyrusher xf650 is under 2 k Good luck and best wishes mark
Hi Mate I keep getting error 21 on my display when I’m riding. It’s usually after ragging out about for 15 minutes. Any idea how I can stop this error from happening, and how to fix it when it happens? Usually I’ll turn the bike off and leave it for a bit then it’s fine
Hi Harry error 21 is motor speed sensor...check the cables etc ... failing that email crusher or put a post on crusher owners Facebook....glen Orpheus from crusher is the man Best wishes mark
Great review, thank you. Presumably there must be considerable range anxiety on a bike this heavy? Pedalling home a bike weighing 35kg without any assistance because your battery went flat would be unpleasant.
Hi James you would think so wouldn't you but not really...I'm getting 38 miles from the battery using the power as well which is very good ...I'm always happy with 30 miles from an e bike But yes you need to keep an eye on the battery for sure Best wishes mark
It's a great bike but the uk sites only sell 250w motors. Where did you get a 750w from. Ideally I would like a 1000w bike restricted to uk specifications so that I can ride it legally and if I want I have extra power to use if I'm on private land. And even if I never use the extra power it's nice to know it's there if needed. Hope you can help. Thanks!
Hi even though it says ,250 w it is far from that :). It is a monster 750 w motor restricted with a simple wire on the speed controller which you unplug ...best wishes mark
@@markpulling12 I thought the UK law says it has to be 250w, don't get me wrong if it's a 750w restricted to 250w and that is legal then I think this is worth a purchase, like I said at the beginning I thought the motor could only be 250w tho?
@@markpulling12 Oh good, it's just a friend told me he got pulled on his ebike and the first thing the police did was check to see the motor was labelled at 250w or it was getting taken, last Q from me but can you recommend any ebikes on the market that has huge range, I have spent time looking but wondered if there any bikes that come to mind, thanks
@@slimbo689 the cyrusher have 250 w stickers on them lol 😂 Massive range try the engwe x26 x20 with dual battery...but they are a little powerful lol 😆 The cyrusher ranger will give you about 40 miles which is good 👍
I really like this. Just a few improvements for me to make it perfect: 1340cc engine, upgraded brakes, full exhaust system, bigger wheels and tires, full TFT, with 'Hayabusa' stickers on the thing.....
On the Cyrusher website there's a section where you can input your inside leg measurement with a slider to see if you fit the bike. It's a big bike, you may be fine
