Hi Jon, I'll be doing that in the description on future videos, thanks for watching! If you look through the comments below you should find all the info you are looking for.
I bought a ranger a week ago on the strength of your reviews, it is truly an epic bike and green is certainly THE colour. Cn i ask you a favour? i have a grin satiator charger, excellent piece of kit. However it wont charge my ranger as my battery has zero volts at the charge socket on the battery!! As a result my charger cannot 'see' the battery and commence the charge cycle. If you have a moment could you stick your multimeter on your battery for me and let me know if you have any voltage at the battery charge socket...
Hi Mark, very happy to hear you like the bike too! I had to sharpen my meter leads to get contact with the tiny little connectors in the plug, but I do have voltage at the charger port on the bike. Any way you can connect directly to the battery leads?
Hi Barz. I bought that bike after seeing your video. I have a slight problem tho, i m fairly tall (6'4) and my back hurts due to the low position of the handlebar. Do you think a handlebar riser could be used on the bike? Would you know the size that would fit the bike?
Hello and thanks for watching my video. I think you made a good purchase with the bike, I've been very happy with mine. You are very tall at 6'4", but fortunately the bike is huge and can be fit to you quite easily. Bike fitting is a whole science, so bike manufacturers "average" out dimensions in the hopes of putting together a bike that will be suitable for the majority of owners. Your height requires that you make a couple changes though.... I'd start with an adjustable steering stem like item # 234056160676 on ebay. You will need a stem that is for a 28.6mm steering tube and for 31.8mm bars. I'd suggest that you go with a long reach such as the 110mm version ($18). This will give you a bit more room in the cockpit area and the angle adjustability will allow you to make changes to see how it affects your comfort level. You will also need a longer seat post as the one that came with the bike is on the short side and definitely not allowing you to have the leg extension that you should have. You need a post that is 31.6 mm in diameter and at least 400mm long.... look at item # 334261056175 on ebay ($20). There are a million youtube videos on adjusting the proper seat height so follow a couple of those so you don't end up with knee pain. The third option (and can also be used with the adjustable stem) are handlebars with more rise. Again you're looking for bars with a 31.8mm center dimension. The different rises are pretty infinite. But, I'd go with the adjustable stem first and see if that's all you need. Good luck with the fitting and let me know how it goes! Cheers, Tom
@@lifebehindbarz60 Thank you so much for taking the time to write that very detailed and helpfull answer, you really made my day, Tom! All the necessary spare part are now ordered!
Have you had any problems with the battery? I test rode 2 demo bikes this past weekend and the metal connectors on the battery started to burn on one bike and melt on the other with more miles on it. The connection is poor and the metal is arcing and getting hot. I contacted Cyrusher and showed them a picture and they claim it could be a faulty controller? I want one of these but I don't trust the batteries to not fail on me down the road.
Hey Nik, interesting, thanks for the heads up, I'll definitely keep an eye on those connections. I don't see any difference on the connections on my battery with those of say the Aventon or the Quietkat. I suppose all would have the potential to get loose if you removed and reinstalled the battery over and over. I've only removed the battery twice at this point to make sure no moisture had gotten in during my mud / snow rides. I have been and plan to just leave the battery in the bike and charge it there. Cheers
Hello for my headlight project on the ranger, I am thinking of attaching myself to the upper part of the fork tubes, what is the diameter of the tubes so that I can order special fork tube fasteners? (with the dimensions of the original fork!) thank you in advance for your answer cordially sylvain
Hello, I really love my Ranger and feel pretty confident in recommending it to others. I've ridden a number of ebikes and it is by far my favorite! I did my 1000 mile tune up / clean up / inspection this morning and just took it out for a ride, it still rides like new. Have fun and ride safe!
You bet, happy to do it. I can honestly say there hasn't been any disappointments with this bike. (not a paid endorsement) Little things like grips, pedals, seats are often a place where manufacturers cut costs, so I fully expected to replace those items when I got the bike. The grips are actually fine... I'm good with what came on it. Cheers
Hello, I bought the flat out product, impossible to find in France, but how many Oz should we inject into the inner tube of the FatBike 26×4 tire? Thank you in advance for your return cordially Sylvain
Hello, you will need just one bottle of the flat out. That will be enough to do about 4 wheels. Yes, just remove the valve stem and push the right amount into the tube. Cheers
Hello, I test rode a few bikes at the local shops before I bought this one. From those test rides I decided the torque sensor felt much more natural to me and definitely delivered the kind of performance I was looking for. I have some other videos where I talk a bit more about this subject. Cheers
@@wrongbro112 You bet! The torque sensor is so much nicer out on the trails. With it the bike gives you a variable amount of help, NOT just a flat response that is based on what pedal assist level you have chosen, like a cadence sensor does. I believe all the manufacturers are going to torque sensors over the next couple of years in place of the cadence sensor. Cheers
Hello Rick, I use the pedal assist mode everywhere I go because I want to get exercise. I am able to choose from the 5 modes how easy or hard that pedaling is. The battery life is quite good on this bike, If I use a lower power mode I can ride close to 50 miles on a charge.
Keep getting error 21 on this when I ride it fast, any idea how to stop this error from coming up? (Usually fixes itself by turning the bike off for a while…)
Hi Harry, I've never had an error code of any kind come up. The manual says 21 is a motor speed sensor issue and to unplug the motor at its connection (big plug just ahead of the kickstand) make sure everything is clean and dry, then reconnect. If that doesn't clear it up then contact customer service so they can send you a replacement part to fix the problem.
Hello, I just reread your responses to the comments and I believe that the cyrusher advisor was wrong, he told me that the seat tube was 31mm and you say 31.6mm? And what inside diameter is the saddle clamp if we want to replace it with a clamp without quick release (risk of theft), thank you in advance for your answer cordially
Yes you'll want a 31.6 post. Here is the ebay item number of the one I bought 392923345949. The outside of the seat clamp tube is 38.32, so you can probably get away with a 38 or a 38,5 clamp, there is some flexibility there. I've also seen people just remove the lever on the stock clamp and replace it with a stainless bolt/nut. Cheers
Hi, Nice video. Thanks for your review. Please enjoy your amazing ride with the Ranger! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us! Cyrusher bikes
Hi Felix, I just started having a binding issue with the forks (5-1-2023) , they are "sticky" and the coating on the stanchion tubes is wearing off. Any suggestions? Also, if I take them apart and clean and grease them do I void any kind of warranty? Thanks for any info! Tom
Thank you Felix, no problem. I just received a message from customer service that they are sending me a replacement fork so all is good. Thank you very much!
@@Magicgeorgelee Felix, while I have you here, does Cyrusher have a release date for the new NITRO? What is the retail price expected to be? I'd love to get my hands on one of those, it looks amazing! Cheers
Interesting, I hadn't heard that before. The brand was new to me 3 months ago and I really don't know the history of any of their bikes prior to owning this one. I can't imagine this super beefy swingarm on my Ranger ever cracking, it is completely over built! I'm confident that the frame on the Ranger will be the last thing to cause me issues, I'm sure I'll bend a wheel, burn up a motor or controller or wear out the forks before I break this frame! I'll be very interested in seeing the new Cyrusher Nitro mid drive reviews this summer! It should be released around July! Cheers
Thanks for watching, the battery is a 52 volt 20ah , quality cells, not off brand. I did a range test video recently and using pedal assist 2, averaging 22mph the entire trip, got 47 miles from one charge. That was from a 100% charge down to 20%. If I had been in pedal assist 1 or had run the battery all the way down (it is recommended that you not discharge the battery all the way as it will shorten its life), I'm sure I could have easily gotten the 55 miles that Cyrusher claims it can get. Check out the video to see what kind of terrain the test was done on. Cheers
