Wow...I've never seen those large dried shrimp before. Whenever I've made this dish, I've only used "ha maih" (dried baby shrimp). I can imagine that those large dried shrimp impart a stronger flavor and make the overall dish better.
Great recipe! Wish it was possible to get dried shrimp over here. Guess i will be trying it with fresh shrimp instead, maybe adding some shrimp paste in addition to it.
