So Tony, my husband and I did our first visit to Spain on a tour. We did LOVE Spain and plan to return again to see the places we didn't see on this past trip. Thanks to this video we knew to look for the tomate de pan. We had it every day at our hotel desayuno. We have tried to find a similar tomato to have since we have returned home in America. A strained dices tomato is pretty close. So delicious! We loved our brief time in Spain. ❤

Hi Elizabeth, we didn't mention any times as it can vary enormously from one place to another, but expect to find them any time between the bar or restaurant's opening time and 10 or 11 am.

Thank you for such a great quality video! I made today pan con tomate for breakfast for the first time and had it with cafe con leche. While eating, I decided to check a video about it again (to make sure I know the best tips) and found your amazing video about Spanish breakfast! Hi Tony. I'm curious, do people ask for flat/tap water at restaurants in Spain? That's usually what I get in the U.S., but I know in some places they will have sparkling water. Thanks!

Jennifer, up until recently it was not common at all to order tap water, but a recent law has made it compulsory for restaurants to serve it to those that order it. You need to ask for it.

what you say is cafe cortado is actually cafe manchado. cafe cortado is cafe con leche but with less coffee

thank you for video im going to spain and portugal this weekend by myself and little bit scared, cause I don't now how will I start, from booking a hotel and transportation especially from Madrid to Portugal. But why do you show us hotel for 500eur for 1 night? In this case is normal that desayuno is much more expensive then in hotel for 50eur :)

That is precisely the point, to show the extent to which prices for breakfast can be absurd. Budget hotels do not tend to serve breakfast. At mid-range hotels, the price will go from 8€ to 15€, way above what you would spend having breakfast on the street.

Just go to a local bar. The bars in Spain or little Cafes are not like the ones in the States. They are clean and serve delicious coffee, tea, drinks, and food. In fact you can have a 'Menu de dia' in them and they are cheap.

It depends on whether they serve breakfast or not. Could be any time between 7 or 8:30 till much later.
