I'm so excited that you created your own makeshift compass instead of measuring through the whole arc! All the other circle skirt tutorials that I've seen tediously take the time to measure a bunch of marks rather than simply making one easy arc.
My biggest insecurity would have to be my stomach , after I had my son I gained alot of weight & it's been supper hard for me to loose it. So I mask it by wearing cute clothes. & to all the others that have weight insecurity or any insecurity juss know some one out there thinks your beautiful. You weren't put on this earth for no reason. You beautiful & unique & you gonna have haters , juss let them hate. Keep your head up & smile (:
Is it possible to make the skirt longer at the back without ruining the whole skirt? Because I am on the bigger side you know and everytime I bend or something I show a little more than I expected. How can I do it?

I've been overweight for a long time, and currently doing everything I can to lose the weight healthily. I love pretty clothes, but it's so hard to find them in my size, and so I'm now looking at making my own :) that's how I came here, what a great idea - this is ideal for someone who's a bit bigger :) and easy for someone like me! Hoping it will improve my confidence long term, and I'll be happier for it. To anyone else who is miserable due to weight, remember how beautiful you are inside! :)

i have naturally curly hair so i get what youre talking about. but although my hair can get crazy fluffy i always learn to embrace it because alot of people are jealous of it, and i think that is how you should try to think about your hair. embrace your gorgeous locks, because not alot of people have the same type of hair. and also natural hair is soooo beautiful. so rock that hair! :)
i feel the same! i got these midi shorts that are a little longer than short shorts but still short enough and they've been more flattering for my thighs! i suggest you try them :)

I agree, it's not okay to be made fun of for any size. I use to be called a wall for the longest time or a twig because I was frail when I was younger. Skinny people have the right to complain about being underweight as much as anyone overweight. We should all just embrace this because we all have attributes we wished to have. Grass is always greener.
The easiest way to do the circle skirt hem is single fold bias tape; it keeps it from puckering and gives the chance to use a contrasting color for a pop of color when you twirl. It can also be used for the elastic casing.

So happy I found this video, I'm a little behind on watching my videos. My only problem is I don't have a sewing machine & doing this by hand seems EXTREMELY daunting aha. I'll need to find someone with a machine!
I've seen your videos before, and this was my sub-video. I'm also sharing this with my cousin who ACTUALLY sews... she keeps telling me how easy it is, and that machines aren't too expensive, so maybe I'll get one and attempt this! Or I'll ask her to help me! This is my favorite- swishy skirts!
my insecurity is my skin, because of being under the sun for Tennis training, I got tanner and darker. My friend who thinks she's short but yet I remind her that she is an AWESOME dancer, although she always tries to deny it. She doesn't have to worry about her insecurity of being shorter than others but instead face it and show her true potential. I forgot to add that my sister who has been there for me since my twins were in NICU is a beautiful person inside and out. Sometimes she feels insecure about her weight but she is perfect the way she is!

Personally I find monolids to be beautiful! There are many different eye shapes and each one is different. Everyone's eyes are unique and having monolids just adds to your beauty. Don't feel insecure, embrace the gorgeous eyes you have! You are beautiful and don't forget it. Stay confident and work it girl! :) My biggest insecurity is my acne. I have worse than the usual teenage amount of acne and I hate the way it makes me look. However, I've been doing small things to help and it's been better
I have the same problem! Just try to be comfortable in your own skin and be thankful for your fast metabolism! Although I do want to clarify that being skinny does not mean you're healthy. A happy and healthy life is all that matters! :)
i have a huge scar on my neck too that i got from my cat, you shouldn't worry about it though because it doesn't distract from your beauty and its a memory in disguise! :) and if you really want to lessen the appearance, try bio-oil or simply palmer's cocoa butter (also helps with stretch marks!) x
your hair is beautiful, your skin is wonderful some people would kill to be tan but if you don't like it use a strong sun screen, and your hands are beautiful!!!!! Just bring plotting papers or used baby powder.
If you like how you dress then that's all that matters really as long as it doesn't take away from how beautiful you are lol and your sister is perfect too you both are stunning!!!
Thanks so much for this tutorial! I gotta say that my biggest insecurity would be my lack of maintaining myself. I had twins 6 months ago and with nursing and being exhausted I have no energy to glam up like I used to. I don't like it since I would like to look nice for the hubby but twins are a lot of work! I hope that with a fresh new look and wardrobe I can start a new me this year in 2014 :)
Being tall and skinny is awesome! I'm tall too, and I love it! Long dresses are made for long legs, so don't feel bad for what nature gave you... Just rock those skinny jeans and boots girl, and feel good in your skin. You don't need anything else.
i can't believe how many short comments there are! i have a short best friend and she embraces being short. she loves to go shopping for heels and more clothes can fit her.
I love this tutorial. My biggest insecurity is, it's really hard for me to engage in a conversation specially to new people. I always find myself in that silent awkward moment. Really embarrassing some people thought I'm not approachable because I'm always quiet they don't know I was just shy and nervous.
Everyone has awkward moments!! There is always someone out there that has something in common with you. Use that as an advantage!! It's hard to find someone you are perfectly similar to. Strike up a conversation about something you both like and it will run smoothly from there!! If you never know what to say after something, compliment them. It will usually bring up a new topic, and they will like you more. :) Good luck!!
