While it might not seem like a big number, when contextualized as a percent (%) of all NYC for-hire vehicles (FHVs) that qualify for Uber’s luxury (or premium) service offering (Uber Black (Uber Comfort)), the Cadillac LYRIQ has gained significant traction. In fact, a recent Bloomberg article stated the LYRIQ was the “only bright spot left in the American EV market”, outselling models from Mercedes and BMW. (Link: (www.bloomberg.com/news/articl...) )
In this video, the AutoMarketplace team reviews a NYC TLC-plated 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ. We rented the LYRIQ from a former fleet customer and long-time NYC TLC driver who transitioned from a gas-powered 2019 Cadillac XTS to the all-electric 2024 LYRIQ. Our team conducted an extensive review over a three week period, including logging over 200 NYC Uber (TLC) trips.
As we go over in the video review and discussion, although the LYRIQ’s all-in price tag (MSRP) is typically north of $65,000 and full coverage NYC TLC insurance ☂️ can cost ~$10,000 (👀) per year, it’s one of the few EVs that (1) qualifies for Uber Black and (2) meets traditional NYC driver and passenger expectations 💎 of what an Uber Black vehicle should be (no offense to the Tesla Model Y 😑, nice car but luxury?! 🤷‍♀️).
We hope you enjoy the review!

IT IS THE SAME MILE LOSS IN GASOLINE VEHICLE IN WINTER - But folks are not aware of it, Because of the luxury of frequent gas stations all over the place, is like there is a perception that it is safer ridding on a motor bike/car compared to flying in an airplane, & airplane is the safest way to travel from point A to B, FACTS VS FEARS👍🏾👍🏾

WEATHER AFFECT GASOLINE VEHICLE TOO -- The same laws of physics affect both EV'S & Gasoline vehicle, there is a perception that traditional Gasoline Vehicles are perfect, they also loose range in winter & also while you start to toe any vehicle, plus it is much cheaper to install an EV station than a Gas station👍🏾👍🏾

Lyriq charges up to 190 kw. You never said anything about pre conditioning the batteries. If you use the pre conditioning on the battery before you go into charge it will warm up or cool down the battery so it can charge the quickest. It will use battery power to do this but the charging should be faster. Happy driving!

Hey, I just got my 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Luxury 3 and will be doing Uber / Lyft on the side. Did you notice better tips on the Lyriq what was the average? Also I wanted to give feedback to help others you can easily get the Lyriq to accept over 150kw at super chargers and to charge to 50% in under 20 minutes is placing it on the preheat and charging under 10% to 50% when completing city trips and to 80% if you feel you need it. Charging from 50% to 80% is up to 10 times longer to charge and 80% to 100% up to 20 times. Just wanted to give feedback and tips with charging with the Lyriq.

Apologies for the delay. We've gathered some feedback from the NYC TLC driver who we rented the Lyriq from. Are you based in NYC? Or are you doing Uber / Lyft somewhere else? He did say customers generally love the car and it's resulted in some private clients even (which is a sort of tip essentially). He even said some people were considering buying the Lyriq after sitting in it. Thanks for the great tip re. charging! How long have you had the Lyriq for?

Ev should not be taxis, worse investments ever!

At this point we mostly agree with this sentiment. It's really hard for many EVs to function as NYC taxis for 4+ years. On luxury side might be more doable, but still expensive! Might change in future, but right now it's very difficult

Interesting comment, currently it’s very hard / not possible to get Chinese auto brands in America (ie BYD)

Depends. We would say if you don't have access to a home / exclusive charger it's tough right now in NYC because the infrastructure isn't built out yet. NYC TLC (Uber/Lyft) drivers are constantly spending 45mins+ of their time charging every day, which is essentially a cost as well

@@yahayatawradoukijera3808 here's the weird thing, already answered your question that you posted on another one of our videos. You seemed to have totally disregarded the answer. That being said, let's provide a more fulsome answer and hopefully you can stop spamming our content. Our fleet's name is HFW Fleet. We focus on Uber Black-qualified drivers (hence *this* LYRIQ video). We are a smaller, niche fleet (
