I just put Progressive springs into my forks removing the stock HD ones. I was playing with the idea of going for the Intimidators - love the DKC tech, have their Transformer EBS, 828 air cleaner and tank mounted wind deflectors installed - but opted to use 10 wt fork fluid instead. The nose dive is gone and the bike corners very confident. Intimidators are expensive. Great video, as always thanks a lot for sharing, boss. 🙏🤙👍🇺🇸

@@sikbaggers I did the front setup and used Progressive 944’s in the rear. Complete game changer. Especially for the weights that were on my ride. Even had issues with the 944’s and they fixed it no problem. Instead of shipping the shocks back, I waited until Daytona and they serviced them for me. lol.

I watched the video on the Nexgen shocks . I have the twin adjustable Bitubo shocks on the rear of my bike purchased from DK Customs . These shocks were a huge improvement over the stock air shocks. I think I will put on chrome lowers when I decide to do the front suspension. Don’t know if I will attempt the job or get it done .

Great video Steve! I have been curious about this product for a while. I ride a 2020 RGS with Legends REVO As in the rear. I want to upgrade my forks and had planned on Legends in the front as well. Do you feel the Intimidators with race tech combo is comparable with the Legends cartridges? I definitely like the price of what you are showing compared to Legends. I have no frame of reference for upgraded forks as I have always ran stock in the front. Thanks for any guidance you can provide. Please keep these videos coming. You help us DIY guys have confidence in our projects.
@sikbaggers

well either one will be superior to the stock set up...The progressives are pretty good but they are still kind of one size fits all, they just work better than stock..this set up is more customizable to you and your riding and costs less...so i think this set up is superior to any brand of "drop in" cartridge.

What do you think about being a HOG member? I have been one ever since I bought my first Hog and tried to use the membership at different Harley Davidson across the states and the one I bought my bike at. No-one would honor the membership. What good is it and the only thing I get out of it is a patch, a pin, and a magazine that I don’t read. Have you had any luck with it? Nice video on the front suspension.
@sikbaggers
@sikbaggers 4 месяца назад
I have never purchased it because I wouldn't use any of the stuff they offer...if i remember right, I think the only thing I would have benefited from was the roadside service and I have that with my insurance so wouldnt use that either..id say if no one is honoring it, I would drop it like a rock..what is it now? 60 bucks or so a year?

Awesome freakin' video man. Thank you so much. How do you determine your preload?
@sikbaggers
@sikbaggers 4 месяца назад
the preload will be based o what spring you get and they will tell you when you order. On this set they didnt include the info or I didnt receive the info so I had to call them and I told them what I was putting it on and they suggested staying in the 2 inch range so it may be different for your set up

Very informative video Steve, thanks!! How do the Intiminator valves alone compare to the Pro-Action Fork Kit (which includes springs)? Will PA springs help much over stock? I am 210 lbs.
@sikbaggers
@sikbaggers 2 месяца назад
thank you tony...well those two things kinda of do the same thing but in different ways..however with the PA kit you have to run their modified fork oil...I would be interested to see how tey work together but with this you are supposed to use standard fork oil..so i dont know how that would work
@TonyDL
@TonyDL 2 месяца назад
@@sikbaggers I don't think the PA kit requires "their" oil, but they do specify 20wt 'high quality fork oil' whereas the Intiminator uses lighter oil at 5 or 7wt. Lighter is better for temperature stability. I kinda like the simplicity of the Intiminators, but a bit concerned about using standard damper rods and standard springs. If I'm gonna tear into it I'd like to do the best mod for the least $. Guess I need to do more research! Thank you!!

I have a question Steve. I have found that coil over shocks to me ride better. I have Legends Revo A on rear. My forks are due for fluid change. I was thinking about installing the legends in front. Will this suspension perform better than the legends? I’m not asking for you to say one brands bad or something like that. Just asking for your opinion. I live in central Illinois and you know how the roads are. I do ride to southern Illinois quite a bit just to get some hills and curves. Thanks for the great video.
@sikbaggers
@sikbaggers 4 месяца назад
Hye Edward...this trike is actually from central Illinois and he loves it..we did a lot of research before doing this mod for him. The reason we went with this set up is it is more customized to you. When you buy them you will need to answer a few questions based on your riding style while the drop ins from any company are again just kind of one size fits all...but they both are better than stock. So either way you go itll be better than the stock suspension.

Hey Steve, hope you're well! I have a 2020 HD RG SPC and hasn't been on the tuner I rec'd with the bike since I bought the bike in '20. Do you have a video on doing it yourself? Just checking fuel mixture etc...Thank you! Ron
@sikbaggers
@sikbaggers 4 месяца назад
Hey ron I do not have one specifically tuning your bike..I have covered in a few videos but I use the DynoJet tuner...I dont know what stage your bike currently is so its hard to give to much advice now on it..but if its just stage one you can get any tuner and download their basic stage 1 map and itll be fine but with the dynojet you can easily run auto tune after that and it will learn your riding style as you go and adjust.
@ronwolf4688
@ronwolf4688 4 месяца назад
Hey Steve, sorry, my bike is a '20 RG SPC Stage IV 131...It runs absolutely great and after you placed the video on replacing the plugs, they looked a little lean; so since I have the tuner the bike came with, I thought it would be good to make sure it running to absolute efficiency and power, I just would rather do it myself instead of paying the dealership, but then I don't think I want to mess with the mapping either, your thoughts, Best, Ron

Looking for a little advice before I trailer my FLSB to Harley. Did a bar job (Fat Baggers 12 inch) and replaced the top brake line. Bled the brakes after but I can't build pressure. Fluid comes out clean at the caliper bleed nipple, no air bubbles. I'm thinking I either have air trapped at the master cylinder banjo bolt or I got air in the ABS lines. Bought a vacuum bleeder and will try again this weekend. What do you think (air in the ABS lines?) before I eat humble pie and put the bike on a trailer and take it to my local (hated) Harley dealer?
@sikbaggers
@sikbaggers 4 месяца назад
Weird..I dont think the sport glides have the RDRS on them so that's not it...defentily try bleeding with a vacuum first before taking it to harley. If you were just pumping the lever and releasing the bleeder it probably wont get any air out as the stroke is too short to do anything. You can also try bleeding from the bottom up with a fluid extractor syrnge ...air goes up better than it goes down. I would try those things first.
@christinejorja
@christinejorja 4 месяца назад
@@sikbaggers Thanks for the reply. No RDRS! Will try again with the vacuum unit or a reverse bleed. Ultimate last resort... taking it to Harley :(

I tuned in because my wife has a 2009 Tri Glide and its getting time for shocks (Front and back), after watching this, im convinced im just going to over Legend shocks for the back and Legend cartridges for the front, i did that for my 2021 Street Glide and they are awesome. This product from DK Customs is not something i would be interested in buying, seems like too much work
@sikbaggers
@sikbaggers 4 месяца назад
Hey man thanks for checking out the video...just keep in mind that any drop in cartridge requires the same amount of work as these...you still have to completely disassemble the forks either way. This one requires you to cut your pre load spacer, as many do, and that took about 3 seconds. And those, from any company, are still "one size fits most". Yes it will give you a way better ride than stock but thats not saying much when stock front suspension sucks. This method is set up for you based on your answers when you order. I'm not affiliated with any of these companies...just giving you some things to think about before you drop your hard earned money because there is quite a bit of price difference. Either way you go sir, it'll be better than stock. Thanks again for checking it out man..much appreciated.
