Great video. I have a question about the spacers. My 02 Fatboy needed a new tire. I'm wondering if the spacers are the same for all soft tails ? Where can I find a diagram of the rear wheel spacers? Thanks
go to this link and finish selecting your bike then you can choose to open each part of the bike and it will give you a detailed breakdown of the part and the part number. partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.com/ronnies/showmodel/16/harleydavidsonmc/2002
They already have hard bags and rails for the softails now..I did the videos on this bike when I first got it...we put lowering fairings on it, a tour pack and hard bags.
yes sir...before I had those bags I always wrapped them in towels with some painters tape lol...whatever it takes because you dont want that banging your fender for sure.
@@sikbaggers You just love them bags- they give you great memories, and I can dig it, man. I can dig it.-Yeah, I just drudged up my best Dennis Hopper. N'UCK N'UCK N'UCK is my best Jack Nicholson. Time for a beer, I've talked too much. Later!
So when you got back the rear wheel from DNA was it still not true? Just wondering because I plan on ordering from DNA for my heritage 21” front 18”rear but I’m keeping stock fenders
There is a slight offset to the rear wheel but not in direction that they offset it the first time. running an 18 just makes it worse becasue you are so close ot your fender now that it is obvious. I went with Sinister fat spoke wheels in the end and I went back to the stock 16 in the rear and 21 in the front and no issues at all now.
They look awesome! Quick question, why Diamond spokes over Twisted spokes? Personal preference or does one look better than the other going down the road
This is the last video I seen from you. Okay, I need your advice…I went to check my oil and the top of the cap came off and the dipstick stayed in. How can I get it out so I can replace it.
The top cap is just that...its just a cap and it held on by 4 little prongs...can you pop it back it on or did it break? If the cap broke you will need to replace the cap and snap it back on.
HEY NICE VIDEO WHAT SIZE ARE THE WHEELS FRONT AND REAR AND WHAT BRAND ARE THE TIRES. AND WHERE CAN A BUY THESE WHEELS AND HOW MUCH ARE THEY. IM READY TO CHOLO OUT MY BIKE. I HAVE THE 2008 ROAD KING CLASSIC I THINK THE REAR WHEELS ARE THEY DIFFERENT.
all of the links are in the description or but here is the link to these wheels...you go through the drop down menus and build your wheels and it will give you a total. sinisterwheel.com/product/all-chrome-with-diamond-cut-spokes/ 21 front and 16 rear.
Can you give me your thoughts on the Fueling vented dipstick vs. the Trask vented cover? I have a 2021 Tri-Glide Ultra and want to and one for preventive maintenance. Both seem to accomplish the same results. Thanks.
yeah it does look better but man what a pain in the ass getting it all lined out and not rubbing....doing air ride on this one so the 16 works better for my needs.
Thank you for checking ti out Steve...im loving them..getting tons of compliments on them too..they really catch the sun which is what I was hoping for.
Thank you Tom...the sinister wheels are really a high quality upgrade compared to whats out there...we had a couple of different wheels on this build and stuck with the sinsters!
Great Video, my 2019 deluxe ready to change to 21(3.5) front and 18 (4.25) rear from DNA coming this week, point of view I have a clue what I have to do because of your video. Awesome
Those rims look awesome appreciate the video😎 change the fuel filter in the RG. OMG that some bitch was filthy at 40,000 miles. I’m glad I seen that one that you did appreciate your videos.
Sinister!!!!!! There from and in my hometown. Turlock CA. They have been in business for years. They started back when Toyota trucks were lowered and painted like punky Brewster wardrobe. Excellent family owned Buisness
I have a 2018 Street Glide and I noticed the front wheel spacer has been installed incorrectly. The lines are on the inside instead of the outside. Has this damaged anything that I need to be worried about. I never noticed it until I seen this video. Makes me sick to know I've been riding with it on backwards. Please advise. Love your videos!
You're fine. Some models, usually older ones had a chamfered end on them and that side went on a specific side. If you notice on your spacer it is the same on both sides. however the service manual still says lines go outward away from wheel. Its just a good habit to get into in case you ever run into one. Just remember lines out and youll always be good.
cush drive hubs are rubber pieces found in the rear wheel of the touring class motorcycles that are designed to reduce stress on drivetrain components during gear or throttle changes. Softails do not have them.
Great video and information as always. I have a belt tension gauge, wasn’t sure I was using it correctly. Your explanation on use made it clear how to set the belt tension. Thank you.
I've been wanting to do a 21 conversion on my heritage with the fat spokes but on a fixed income who can afford it but it sure does look good great job
Hey Michael...yes wheels and tires can be pretty pricey. One thing I have learned about wheels, not just spokes, is that you really do get what you pay for on them. Its easy to buy some cheaper wheels and you will undoubtedly have issues. I really hope thee last!
yeah well these do too and they are from sinsiter...that was my goof in the video before I realized I had a spacer in the box...and I didnt edit it out...but the pully goes with the recessed holes facing up and the washers fill the spaces.
thank you! I use the Apluslift...you can get it on amazon here but I would call them before making your order to make sure they can deliver to your residence. amzn.to/3NODSrD
These are so much better quality than the DNA wheels...The dna wheels are a good budget wheel. If you have them side by side you can really see the difference in the quality
Hey that is great! Im glad you dont have any issues. Like I said it was super close, not touching but close..too close for me ..thanks for checking o9ut the video! Be safe!
Thank you Jesse! Honestly it comes down to astethics...which one do you like the looks of better? Nothing really different about the 2 types other than looks. I prefer the fat spoke as they are easier to clean and in my opinion just look better.
Lots of companies make them just google your year, model and you will find them in chrome or high polished ...I got these from Sinister but your local HD has standard and chrome versions as well. Honestly they arent that bad priced from HD.
These are tubeless wheels..which is another reason I like them so much. They have a protective layer that is applied to the spokes on the inside that stops the leaks.
yeah if you look at the clips I had it mounted upside down before I knew there was a spacer in the box..then I clipped in the spacer and then reused the old clip from tightening it down lol..its installed correctly but yes I was back and forth while shooting it LOL...it was along day...good eye though!
They are a double torque bolt...lots of stress on those bolts after torquing them...its kind of like head bolts in your car/trucks engine..one time use. They just recommend to replace them so they dont loose strength in the bolt after torquing and removing
@@sikbaggers double torque bolt-never heard of it, but then, I never worked on engines or Harley Davidson's before. The 1st time is always the most frightening. After that, you're almost a pro.
