Sir your name should be called Mr DIY so much skill, perseverance, knowledge, you are a blessing, I'm learning so much have gained alot of confidence ,and you make everything look so easy, I will be going back to pass videos from your channel to gain more skills, can't wait till your next video,
Dang that looked like a hard one. You made it look like nothing. Great job on the line. So where do you recomend me buying a spotter tool to make one like yours from? Ive looked and looked but since ive found some in all different price ranges on amazon am worried to get a good quality one.
Started to build a spotter my self thanks to your video still have it sitting on my table because I can't get it to work like yours😂 great videos keep them coming!
My Son and I did one according to his instructions for a school Science project and placed well! Fix has two versions. The first is the most simplest. Try it that way and hit the weld button for a manual operation with a quick zap, that will get the job done! Good luck, Phillip Hall
I was taking my time working on this thing over the corse of 2 days, but If I concentrated on the task at hand and just got it done, I could have this repair complete start to finish in 3-4 hours
I love the way you work, how you process. very creative for sure. When you say "I need to do this..." and I usually say "how the heck are you going to do that..." and am surprised at your ingenuity when you get it done. Not sure what you do for a 9-5, but i wish you had a shop for your sake 😀😀
Once you get your metal pulled as close to the measurements as possible, have you thought about using a contour gauge to replicate the proper contours off the other quarter panel to get the damaged sections as close to original shape as possible? What are your thoughts on this tool?
Amazing work sir 👏 It truly inspired me more to build my own body and paint shop soon Currently working in japan But im a Filipino planing To start in the Philippines Your videos is truly admirable 😮
Hello Philip, all is well here. Just keeping busy as usual, new projects coming in and I film everything... The old Chevy truck is on a bit of a hold at least until I get through all of the current work... I've been working on the next video off and on, hopefully it'll be out here and not so distant future 😀
I have painted in freezing temperatures before with good results. Usually my main thing that I check for is that it's not going to rain or snow and also no windy or breezy conditions. Go lighter on material as you're laying them down so you don't run 'em.
As of now I do have the puller/ squeezer handle available for sale, later on I may set up some sort of a manufacturing for the actual unit that carries the transformer and all of the control electronics.
Nice work as usual. Glad to see another video, as your videos are always interesting and informative. I'll have to look into making a spotter some century when I have nothing to do, as one of our cars needs work similar to this. At the moment, I'm still setting up my new shop, which is progressing slowly, but taking up most of my time.
Having a shop sure is nice, I am currently in Florida for about a week where wife and I are looking at different areas to possibly relocate to. The place that I would be buying would have to have quite a bit more property then I currently own and preferably already have a shop on site or at least have a good spot for me to put the shop in... Hopefully it pans out!
@@fix206 Hopefully you find a good property that suits your needs and you can relocate to a warmer climate and get rid of the snow. We moved here to Queensland about 30 years ago from New South Wales for a warmer climate, but the winters here are still a bit too cool for my liking (rarely below 35F at night with days rarely below 60F max, but way, way better than where we came from. We have five acres here, mostly bush (woods) and we have about an acre near the middle where we built our house and big shed, etc. Setting up my small shop at the moment and I realized that I need a wood shop as well for my woodwork stuff, so it looks like another shop is on the cards to build once I finish this shop. Then I need to extend the big shed for my car painting shop. It all takes time!!
thank you for all the tips on doing body work im new to this field of work and trully enjoying this channel, also watched the spot welder video; question where can i get the same handle puller that you use to bring the dents out, the black one, 13:26 cause i have only found the slide hammer style on ebay and amazon
I bought that puller from Russia some time ago, and actually worked with the manufacturer to get a small shipment of them to USA which wasn't easy... So I have some available for sale if you're interested
What do you mean my driveaway might not be level. It's a gravel round a bout on a hill. You can't get more level than that. Nice work as always though D.
For me replacing a quarter panel in much more involved then just repairing that wheel arch... Not to mention that you still have to spend $200-$300 on the replacement panel
Job such as this one can range $500-700... It is much more economical than having to spend more money on a replacement panel and still pay the same amount for labor
Fix I had one of your videos bookmarked which always lead me to your channel. When I tried to retrieve it , the heading said it had been removed in violation of community guidelines. Just giving you a heads up incase you didn't know it. Unfortunately I do not remember which video it was. Phillip Hall
@@fix206 Fix I just double checked. I owe you a HUGE apology, Somehow I got my bookmark located out of sorts. That was some other video from some other channel. Sorry for the confusion.. Phillip Hall
