Thanks Desi, your channel is very helpful. We have downloaded the VOA forms & will have them pre-filled before we land in Phuket. Hopefully this will save some time on arrival and avoid mistakes, we will be frazzled after long flights. Thank you again from down under. ☺
@waynejill Earlier, I accidentally pasted a reply I had written for a viewer from India. Since you are from Australia, you get a visa-waiver for travel to Thailand for 30 days. You don't need to fill-up this form. After landing, go to an immigration counter where they will stamp your passport permitting a stay in Thailand upto 30 days, including the days of entry and exit. Carry a passport valid for at least six months, sufficient funds, confirmed hotel bookings for the entire stay, and return or onward journey air tickets for travel within 30 days. If you need to stay longer than 30 days, then take a sticker visa before travel.
@@desiyatri no bro i haven't seen video with such detailed information. And can you tell me how many days the passport validity should be if we are going for on arrival. Is it 30days or 6 months?
Bro how Bout permanent address for someone who is living abroad for past 4 years but is indian ? Does it need to match the address on passport or can it have current residential address
Hi. Your current permanent address can be different from the address on the passport. I myself had a passport with my Chandigarh address on it, but in the VOA form I used to write my Bengaluru address which was my new permanent address. You may write your current address, it need not match the one on the passport.
Hi. Generally, in a visa photo they expect both the face and the shoulder. I have not seen any specification as to what percentage of the face should be in the picture. They are flexible with the photo but only face and no shoulder may not be right. If you have time, get a proper photo before travel. An emergency photo in the VOA area will cost 300 Baht.
Thanks for the info . One more q, do i need to give exact 2200 baht in the visa on arrival counter or if i give 3k baht , the visa officer will give me change of 800 baht?. I got bahts only in thousands from money exchange office today and I am going this Saturday. Please advise.
Hi. In the past, I have done a lot of search in this regard. Any official Thailand government source that deals with visa on arrival does not specify the background color of the visa photo. However, when it comes to Thailand sticker visa, to be obtained from VFS Global, the color of the photo background is specified as white. Taking a hint from that, I have come to believe that the photo background color should be white, even for VOA. You can take a chance with a different background color, but if they reject it, you will have to pay 300 Baht to get an instant photo in the VOA area. My suggestion is, carry a color photo in 4x6 cm, with a white background.
Hi. They are flexible with the photo size. I have seen them accepting passport size photo. Just know that if for any reason your photo is not accepted, you will have to get an instant photo there, which will cost 300 Baht.
Hi. No, it is not necessary. They are not going to match your signatures. In case of doubt, you may like to sign your full name on the visa application form, regardless of how your signature on the passport looks.
@ashimphukan356 Thailand has offered visa-free entry for Indian passport holders up to May 10, 2024. As such, no visa form is required. After landing in Thailand, you can go straight to an immigration counter. Please watch my related video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qnGYiwdVOOg.html
Do we need hard copies of return ticket and hotel booking or just soft copies. And do we need 20000 baht in cash of partly in forex card will also work.
For air tickets and hotel bookings, hard copies are needed. About the currency, logically speaking, partly in cash and the rest in a Forex card should be accepted. However, at Thai VOA counters, they intend to push tourists (mainly Indian tourists) towards the priority or express counters. At these special counters, you pay THB 2200, which is THB 200 extra, and then you get VIP treatment. Immediate visa processing, and no questions asked. Otherwise, if you go to a normal counter, they may ask you anything under the sun. If you are carrying a currency other than Thai Baht, they may ask you to change your money into THB inside the visa/immigration area, which will happen at horrible exchange rates. Or, they may just refuse to accept a valid forex card as a proof of funds. Sometimes, miracles happen, and a forex card may be accepted at a normal counter, but miracles rarely happen. My advice is, whatever you do, go to the priority counter and get your visa on arrival without any troubles. Later, when inside Thailand, you will get plenty of opportunities to save money and recover that 200 Baht extra you paid for the visa. I tell this to everyone, avoid any shopping in Thailand, unless you really need anything during your stay there. Everything is cheaper and better in India. Also, use public transport as much as possible, and exchange your money at the recommended money changers. Please see my money exchange videos for help.
@@desiyatri thanks for detailed information. Where should I go for currency exchange in patong. Also do phi phi Island tour and James bond tour can be booked by using forex? As I am thinking how much in forex n how much in cash from 20k
If you can decide on the dates of your Phi Phi and James Bond Island tours in advance, the best place to book those tours will be on the Klook mobile app. When you register on the app with your Indian phone and address, etc., you can pay with an Indian card in Rupees. It is also possible that once you are in Phuket, you can book any tours on Klook and pay with a Forex card. About changing money in Patong, I will request you to wait for two days. I am currently working on my video on money exchange in Patong. It should be out by Wednesday morning. If you need info right now, please let me know.
Hi. I had this experience in October 2022. I went to the regular VOA counter and tried to convince them that I had money in the bank and I would withdraw from an ATM once I crossed immigration. They said no, and asked me to show cash. At that counter, the visa fee was 2000 THB. I went out and spoke to a visa staff guy there. He suggested that I try the priority counter where the visa fee was 2200 Baht. At the priority counter, they did not ask me anything, and my visa got processed quickly. Later in Bangkok, I withdrew cash from an ATM. So, the moral of the story is, they want you to pay 2200 Baht and take your visa from the priority counter. Logic does not seem to work at Thailand VOA counters. Another thing, the 10,000 Baht requirement is in addition to the visa fee. Better carry cash (USD or other convertible currency is ok), or go to the priority counter. Also, avoid taking INR to Thailand. INR exchange rate is really bad.
My passport photo doesn't looks like me as my passport is 8 years old, I have lost my hairs and have face full of beard. I don't wear spectacles now as I had Lasik surgery last month. Does it cause any problem
See, this passport thing is equally relevant even when you check in for your flight or clear immigration at the airport of departure. What I can say is, if you are able to depart with that passport, then you will clear visa and immigration in Thailand as well. One suggestion, if you still have your old spectacles which you wore in the passport photo, carry those along.
@marijo202 The original comment meant that the applicant would be taking a visa on arrival and wanted to know if their kid would also need a visa. I responded to that. But yes, visa rules are different for citizens of different countries.
Hi. Transit visa for Indian passport holders can be obtained before travel from the official agent, VFS Global. The fee is Rs. 1900, and depending on the location, a service charge of Rs. 500 is to be paid in addition to the fee. I am not allowed to post any links here, so Google for "Thailand Transit Visa for Indian Passport VFS Global". You will see the VFS website in the search results. Visa on arrival can also be used for transit purpose.
@spreadthelove82 If you all have Indian passports and are arriving into Thailand on or before May 10, 2024, there is no need for a visa or visa form. Here are the details: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-84iZ-Y8zJAs.html
For a couple or family, it is 20,000 Baht in addition to the visa fee. If two people are traveling, the total requirement is 24,000 Baht for normal visa queue and 24,400 for priority visa queue. Money can be carried in Thai currency or USD etc. Visa fee has to be paid in Thai currency only. Avoid carrying Indian rupees because INR exchange rate is bad in Thailand.
Hi. I was just reading online that citizens of Myanmar are eligible for a visa free entry under a bilateral agreement between the governments of the two countries. However, there is a condition. The exemption applies to Myanmar citizens only if they arrive at an international airport. I got this information from the website of the Royal Thai Embassy, Yangon. You may verify the information from there. I am not allowed to post any website links here. Now, if this information is correct, you do not need a visa to enter Thailand when traveling by air.
They have specified this: Any type of employment in Thailand is prohibited on tourist visa. However, I think, if you are just searching, and not actually working, that should be ok.
Hum 5 people ja Raha hai with mummy papa but unlogo ko English nehi ata to hum help kar sakta hai ..single karke kuch puchta hai kya ohi soch Raha hu ..aur up down ticket and hotel voucher agar mobile PE rahaga to koi problem hai kya
You can all go to the visa counter together. You will need prints of tickets and hotel vouchers. Better go to the priority counter where the visa fee is 2200 Baht but they will not ask anything. At immigration counter, they don't ask questions but only take thumb prints and photo.
Hi @Rags1982 The Singapore visa photo size, according to my experience when I applied for a Singapore visa the last time, was 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm. The photo requirement for Thailand Visa on Arrival is 4 cm x 6 cm. Hence, not the same.
@Rags1982 I have seen them accept Singapore size photo. They are not strict. But what they expect is that everyone opt for the fast track visa. I suggest you do the same for a hassle-free experience. At the document verification stage, when you show them your documents, also show 2200 Baht cash for visa fee. That will mean that you intend to take fast track visa. They will be happy. At the fast track VOA counter, they will just see your passport, application form, return ticket, & 2200 Baht cash. And you will have your visa in under 10 minutes. This has been my experience so far, and I am sharing it with you as a fellow traveler.
Hi. When two people are traveling together, it is ok to have only one name on the hotel reservation. However, it is helpful if both the persons carry copies of the booking confirmation.
Anytime, my friend. I have a request for you. Please subscribe if you are yet to do it, and ask your friends to do the same. Thanks for your continued support 🙏
The normal visa fee is 2000 Baht, but at the priority counter it costs 2200 Baht. Priority counter is better. Please see my related video for more on Thailand VOA: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-s3lmBtdWKwM.html
Visa on arrival allows 30 days' stay if the tourist arrives in Thailand before the midnight of March 31, 2023 (Thailand time). After that, it will be 15 days. These are the current rules.
@Lajterica If you are staying at a friend's place, you can write his address. But you will need to arrange for an invitation letter from your friend. This letter will have your friend's name, address, phone number, and residence status in Thailand. The letter will also have your name, address, passport number, and dates of stay in Thailand.
@woodstock5841 I have personally taken visa on arrival at the Poipet/Aranyaprathet border crossing between Cambodia & Thailand. So, it is possible. When you are planning your trip, at that time verify that VOA is available at the particular border crossing which you will use.
