Hey thanks for the video. I want to connect my smart TV to Express vpn. I already have a Wi-Fi router at home for the internet in the house. When I connect the LAN wifi router cable to the Expressvpn WAN is that how this Aircove gets access to the internet? So for my tv, I will need to switch the internet connection to that of the expressvpn aircove?
What router would I use to hook up Comcast coaxial cable to? Or would this just piggyback my current Netgear routher (that doesnt support VPN) I'm having a rough time figuring out what i need to purchase in order to get VPN services for LAN gaming on a ps5. Not streaming tv or using it as wifi.
Would this fix the NAT type issue that gaming consoles are experiencing when not being able to play online multiplayer games? ie playstation has NAT type 3 and Nintendo switch has NAT type D as strict NATs
To hear it’s the first of its kind is making me have some hope for my project. Sir may I have your expertise on it? I am trying to change my location and ip on my PlayStation 4 via expressVPN and i was wondering when this router comes and I LAN it to my PlayStation and with the necessary other requirements will my attempt work and my IP will successfully show from another region?
Hi there, I appreciate its an old video (great video and info btw) I wanted to ask if this router will also allow me to VPN onto my home network so I’m effectively on my home network? Many thanks
Hi there! I found this video very helpful . I have a company issued laptop that uses their own VPN. Would this router be able to offset the VPN installed on the laptop?
Hi meaning my company uses Citrix … if I am over seas and log in to this VPN And I have to log into Citrix to access my companies network… will they be able to determine my location?
Can you please provide a more detailed speed test ? For example, to connect a PC over Ethernet to the router and then do the test with and without VPN enabled. Or test it with a phone that's connected to WiFi, but somewhere where you're hitting your (almost) max speed, so I can actually see how much enabling VPN cripples your speed. Thanks
I understand your desire. Know that this was my max ISP speed given the gateway location. The wifi was not what was limiting the speed. So this test is representative for someone getting ~50mbps download speeds on their ISP. I will do more speed tests though.
@@NaterTater Thank you for your prompt response. I understand. This is last bit of information I want to know before buying. Other routers that I tried didn't have AES hardware acceleration and for that reason connecting via OpenVPN resulted in 95% reduction in speed. I hope they chose the right hardware to rebrand, one that doesn't slow down their speed drastically, but i can't find any speed tests because the router is so new
Hi great video, I have a dilemma. I am from the UK and currently completing a 3 month contract with a big 4 consulting company. I have to leave for America to finish my spring semester (so another 8 weeks in the US). I have a work laptop, is this router a good option for me?
Hi there, I got this for my vacation home in Mexico. Unfortunately it was not "plug-in play".. when I enter my "activation code" it gives me an error. Would this be an ISP issue?- as I am in Mexico VPN works fine with other devices, just can't activate the router :( Cheers 🙌
Hello. I have mine in mexico too. I had some issues with setup and did the initial setup in mexico. I reached out with technical support via chat. And I was able to get it started. It just took time since I reached out to them on my phone internet bc the wifi was down. Once it was up. I have had no issues. Love the switch.
I want to travel oversees and I am currently working from home. Would this hide my location? As I intend to take the Job with me. Or does my employer have a way to tell that I am using the VPN router. Also they gave me a CPU in order for me to log in to access their system. it kind of has its on IP in it. Will this still hide my location so they can't tell that I am not where they hire me to be?? Thanks in advance.
That's a loaded question...what I will say is VPN's in general do mask where you are physically located and instead "the internet" sees you as being located at whichever VPN server location you're connected to.
@@NaterTater thanks again for responding to my question. I was just a little confused whether this would work or not. But you remove some of my doubts.
@@MrZManny17 Yes and No. Yes because we were able to choose an IP for any desire location. But we were not able to lock the IP meaning if you were to disconnect the router or turn it off it would not give you the same IP. And No because we found out that the CPU had a tracking device installed in it, so even if we had a VPN they would have known if we move the CPU overseas. And lastly even though you have a VPN router you still need to pay a monthly subscription to have the VPN service. So we decided to returned the router because we had no need of it. But I will purchase it again if I get the right Job.
I bought a used router and it has this vpn firmware. I cannot remove it 😫 i looked up the original firmware for it and installed it using the vpn router settings coz the netgear one doesn’t work. And it still doesn’t install it, it just updates but doesn’t remove the vpn firmware
I am going to work in UK with my US work from home job, and after i create the account, I just select US while in UK and it will automatically have my location in US? (Seattle)
@@macxfly for anyone planning this I recommend doing it like 2 months in advance and keep being connected to that location via vpn . Never change when outside us.
