Hey Chris thank you so much for your updated video, tried your first one but wouldn't connect, I bought a toshiba fire TV a couple of weeks ago found that even with all the timers disabled, when on home screen and apps on pause TV kept switching off after 10-12 minutes, your tip has worked brilliantly left tv on home screen and pause on apps, gone past 2 hours it has stayed on so thanks again as I was on the verge of returning TV, keep on doing what you do we'd be lost without you 😊

I found an old circa 2010 Galaxy Note4 and followed your instructions. It works perfectly. No more sleep mode. We're using this display in our business with Amazon Photos, a 32 inch Dell display and a brand new FireStick lite. Its a very cheap electronic sign now with no monthly fees. Thanks so much!

Thanks! Glad I found this video. I can confirm this is working on the latest ver 8 software. I now have Ambient Mode with a 2 hour shutoff. EDIT: Maybe not. After it shut down after the 2 hours it reverted back to the original timeout once it powered on again. I'll keep messing with it.

Chris, if I set this up at home, made the changes, and then moved the Fire Stick to another home with a different WiFi network, would this feature still work? Or does it only work if it’s connected to the same WiFi as the Android device even after the setup and changes? Essentially, once you set it up with the new instructions you created, is it permanently set up regardless of where it’s placed? I’m hoping that’s the case so I can install it at home first, and then just take the fire stick to work and leave it there.

It worked perfectly on all my Firesticks, but the problem is partially resolved in my case. Even if I can block my Firesticks from going to sleep, most third party apps I use to watch TV automatically close after a while and none of them have an option to disable that. After some hours I just see my Firestick home/desktop so I can't leave the TV running all day. Do you have a fix for that?

Just disabled the sleep timer via ADB and now I'm facing this issue too. I think this problem has something to do with the "Are you still watching?" option. I tried to go to settings, preferences, data usage monitoring, and turned "Still watching" off. I don't know if this works; I'm going to find out tomorrow.

Please Advise Remote ADB shell, installed on my Galaxy Note 9, fails to connect to my Firestick 4k MAX running OS 7.6.8.1 Error given is "EHOSTUNREACH (No route to host)" I have checked and rechecked the IP address and both are on the same wifi network. ADB debugging is enables on the Firestick and it has been restarted . VPNs are disconnected on both Note 9 and Firestick as a precaution. What can I try?

Hey Chris, just to let you know I've done this on 2 of the newest 4K Max fire sticks and it does still work. Both on Fire OS 8.1.0.6 (Fire TV Home version 6510123.1) so maybe a recent update Amazon has now re-enabled it again for OS 8?
