She held back sooo much on those vocals in that performance. She simplified it for the president.Tamala is a pure gospel beast and she could've brought the house totally down. But still a good low and mellow version.
I was going to say the same thing. This is White House Take me to the King. If she went Church Take me to the King she would've had them all catching the holy ghost.
🗣‼‼‼ Check out the writer of this song his nam is Kirk Franklin! He and Tamala have a long history in gospel together. She and her husband was one of the original singers in his group called 'Kirk Franklin and the family'. Tammy had a few solo's on each album at the time one of my favorites being 'The Precious Lamb Of God!'
God knows what we need and gives it to us just in time. I couldn't sleep last night thinking about how this world seems to have pushed God so far into the background that He seems to be forgotten. This song came into my mind and I could not remember all the words, but, it was what I needed. Then I decided to go to RU-vid, and here you are. My first day joining your Gospel Sunday. Thank you so very much, forge some of those folks out there. Haters gonna hate because they are so empty inside. Maybe they need to take it to the King. I have chills everywhere.
I recommend Ricky Dillard You Are the Lifter for a future Gospel Sunday. I love these days, btw. Great reactions. I get to have some nostalgia growing up down south in deep Mississippi with gospel music.
Thank you for saying out loud what SO MANY OF US HOLD IN OUR HEARTS , THOUGHTS, & PRAYERS on the daily , as both citizens & people 💯💯👏👏💕💒. You spoke with Kindness, Honesty of your personal feelings, Respectfully, in a quiet strength type of way 💯😔. Thank you & Enjoyed the review....
Thank you for this reaction and your comments about the dramatic political shift we’ve experienced - from a gospel performance by artists of color one year to ... we know what happened the next year. But many of us have come through it. Better days ahead, I believe.
I love your advice to enjoy and appreciate THE PROCESS...I enjoyed that food-for-thought! Also, 'love Tamela Mann...I agree that the performance was dialed-down a bit...but still good!
Definitely not the best performance of this song by her. She probably couldn't be as free as she would have liked to have been. Still an awesome job. I love your reaction to gospel music.
For this Gospel Sunday you should react to Tamela Mann singing Help Me on The Terrell Show, or Let Go by PJ Morton feat. The Walls Group from The Piano Album. ❤️
@@TheCharlieSmithChannel no worries, I get notified when you drop new stuff so will be looking out for it and well done on your videos so far, I enjoy them a lot!
@@TheCharlieSmithChannel Not sure you're ready for Jekalyn, Charlie. She's a Beast in her own right. I love "Jehovah Jireh". I listen to every day before I punch in for work.
Love your reactions, I subscribed yesterday…I love Tamela Mann. Wonder if you can react to Revelation’s version of “Take me to the King”. They are an gospel accapella group/choir from Orlando
I really enjoy your Dimash reactions and this one so sorry you had to bring up politics, seems like we have opposite views ,but I respect someone’s point of view and I will continue watching. God Bless
She actually sounds hoarse to me. The key seems lower for her to handle the crescendo at the end. Just my non-singer opinion. In general, I've never heard or seen a true gospel singer "hold back" especially in a secular event because they realize it just might be the only "church" some folks in the audience will ever experience. Yolanda Adams singing for the Whitney Houston tribute during the 2012 NAACP Image Awards is a good example. (You could at this to your Gospel Sunday. She sings "I Love the Lord")
I don't like that she sang "Take Me To The King" for the president..... made it look like POTUS was the "king". She could've sung another selection... one that make EVEN HIM ACKNOWLEDGE JESUS AS THE REAL KING.
