❤ I was on Ozempic for diabetes and I hit a Plato lost 30 pounds on it but then I couldn't lose anymore, so then my doctor moved me to Mounjaro, I have now lost 41 pounds yay...
♥ Hi there. I'm on Mounjaro at the 10mg level now. Started at 253, got down to 203 and, yes, I've been frustrated over the past couple weeks. Absolutely no movement except for 5 lbs IN THE WRONG DIRECTION. I am now at 208. I really wish I knew how to start moving towards my goal of 80. Again, frustrated I'm stuck. The good news? I've been diabetic since 2010 and have been injecting both short and long acting insulin for 6 years. 2 months ago I was able to totally STOP taking insulin, and my A1C is now 5.5!! I wish I could send you the incredible note attached to my labs from my PCP. She said "Look at that beautiful A1C! Totally amazing!" Take good care - I hope this stop along my journey will end soon. - Howard
Judy P. here. So excited to find your reply today! Thanks for the info on weight loss stalls. I am 68 so I guess I should be glad my body is losing slow. Maybe it will give my skin time to recover and not get so saggy. lol I would like to lose about 34 more lbs. at least. I've already lost 57. Do you get as impatient as I do? Here is two hearts, give one heart and a hug to Mr. Freddy. ❤❤
❤❤❤Yes! I have hit 2 different plateaus so far. At one right now, and trying to change some things to get it moving. Ironically I got out of my previous one by adding back some carbs, and I was able to push it forward. Love and strength to everyone!!
That jar lid closer thing is so cool. I am going to def get one of those! Please don't feel so sad about the number to lose but be so proud of what you have achieved! You are doing amazing and also helping all of us out here as well! Mr. Freddy is getting some Vit D today on the couch...so precious. Thank you as always and see you next time...HEART - Jules
*Hey ‘Liz!* And dog-shaped throw-pillow Mr Freddy! 🐶 *Great* vid, and thanks for another shout-out. And yup, as you mention, been tellin’ you ‘bout this stuff for awhile. Nice to see The Atlantic is so on top of the science! 🧪 IMO, there’s two key takeaways from the article for your viewers. 1) Obesity is mostly NOT YOUR FAULT. Really. Your body is programmed to *defend* the highest weight you’ve ever been at… it ‘fights back’ - by slowing your metabolism and by increasing hunger - if you lose a significant amount of weight. And the more weight you lose, the HARDER it fights back. 💥🥊 Back in the caveman days or even the Middle Ages, this was an evolutionary *advantage.* It helped your ancestors *survive* famines and periods of food scarcity. Thanks, biology. 🙏 But, in the modern era of Food Abundance… yeah, no longer so helpful. And we now have an EPIDEMIC of food-caused illness (mass obesity and its’ many co-morbidities). 😕 Key thing is, don’t beat yourself up over biology. Just be AWARE of it, and plan on how to deal with it. 2) And as part of the above… set proper EXPECTATIONS for yourself about weight-loss. How it’s generally not so easy, especially once one becomes obese, and how as you lose more and more weight, the weight-loss is going to be SLOWER (as your body fights back harder). Though still very doable, if you don’t let yourself become demoralized. Again, key thing is *awareness* and not beating yourself up too much. Because beat-up/beat-down ppl tend to eventually give up. 😢 (The mental side is key. 🔑) For you ‘Liz… wow, a 125 lbs weight-loss goal? Props on the ambition!! ⭐️ Would just say a couple of things (that you may already know): - If you gain like 10 lbs of muscle mass from the weights over the next couple of years, then maybe the goal doesn’t have to be 125, but rather 115? It’s about losing the fat mass, not the lean mass, after all. - Even though we’re talking numbers, maybe don’t fall in love with a particular number? Fall in love with a particular level of *health*, both physical and mental (and spiritual). 💕 If the scale happens to read 125 or 115 or whatever less than your peak weight, neato, but in the end it’s secondary to the even more important things. Things that will impact you, Liz, so much more than a particular scale number. 😇 (Though, sure, I over-focus on the scale too sometimes. It’s hard to be perfectly Zen about this.) If ya haven’t seen ‘Dr Dan Obesity Expert’s’ vid on ‘Best Weight’, hunt it down sometime. It’s *so* helpful. 🤗 Finally, and ‘cuz I’m such a nerd… about some of the stats you were talking on weight-loss drugs (and about the new upcoming drugs): Tirzepatide/Mounjaro/Zepbound (all the same exact thing) generally does see an average weight loss of about 20-22 percent of body-weight in the trials. You are 100% correct that this can be influenced a bit by the length of the trials… even in late stage-trials (the Phase 3s), the trial length can vary a lot. Some are 48 weeks, some can be 72 weeks or longer. BUT, this isn’t quite as much of a difference-maker as you might think, ‘cuz once you get past 48 weeks or so, the weight-loss has already slowed down quite a lot (on average… and you may not be average). So that additional time in the longer trials may have only a modest effect in terms of additional weight-loss/higher numbers. Oh, and while there IS a trial that shows Tirzepatide/MJ/Zep with an average weight-loss of over 25 percent (!!), that one was a bit cherry-picked in terms of participants/the trial population. 🍒 What they did on that one was have a screening process where for the first several weeks (8? 12? forget), ppl engaged in *intensive* lifestyle changes, and with no drug. If they were able to lose more than 5 percent of their body weight during that time, they were IN, and got the drug. But if not, they were out. 😭 So, that trial was populated by ‘lifestyle change stars’, if you follow. Kinda comforting in that it confirms that being really into lifestyle changes will help you lose MORE weight on these meds… BUT, in terms of this being a truly ‘average’/representative group of ppl, uhhh, nope. 😐 On the plus side and as the article mentions, there ARE new drugs in the pipeline that will result in even higher average weight-loss than the best we have today. You mention Retatrutide (‘Reh-tat-roo-tide’, but everyone pronounces it wrong), which saw an honest, non-gamed weight-loss of 24 percent in a fairly short 48-week trial. In a longer one, it’s probably an honest 25-30 percent at the highest doses. And that’d be *average.* Add in the ever-important *strong lifestyle changes,* and WOW. 😯 (Too bad it’s a 2026 release at best). And it may not even be the strongest of the strong. Amgen has something in the works called AMG133. No long-term trials for it yet, but there’s speculation that it might see average weight-loss of *30-35* percent of bodyweight. 😳 That’s right up there with the most effective types of bariatric surgery. But AMG133 has to survive the trials process (aka no deal-breaker side effects), and even then, maybe we see it like 2027? A real wait. ⏱ Nearer term, the stuff to watch for is (IMO), - Very high-dose Wegovy (7.2mg). Maybe mid-late 2025, if it makes it past trials. Is likely a fairly rough ride for anyone taking it (side effects). - Very high-dose Mounjaro/Zepbound (exact doses unknown yet, but speculated to be 20 and 25mg). Maybe late-2025 or early 2026, best guess? You may get to titrate up from 15mg someday after all, ‘Liz. ⬆️ - Very high-dose Rylbesus, aka ‘oral Ozempic’ (50mg). Maybe mid-to-late 2024 (*this year,* whoa). But the oral thing means that even though it’s 50mg, it’s not really any stronger than current top-dose Wegovy (2.4mg). And not everyone’s tummies may be down with the side effects of a very high-dose oral. 🤢 🤮 - CagriSema (an amylin/semaglutide combo drug), from Novo Nordisk, makers of Ozempic (think of it as ‘next-generation Ozempic’). Prelim results seem to show it being in the same league as Retatrutide, and likely available EARLIER (late-2025? early-2026?). Let’s hope. 🤞 - Then of course there’s just going the bariatric surgery route. Still the current king of weight-loss 👑, at least the more effective types of it are (bariatric comes in several different ‘flavors’). There’s also less-invasive endoscopic versions of said procedures. Not sure if they’re as effective as the full-on surgeries, but endo bariatric combined with weight-loss meds could possibly be really, *really* effective and not as scary as full-on invasive surgery… bears further research by anyone at all interested in going that route. 🛣 - Finally and obviously… *significant and sustainable lifestyle changes* will increase the benefits/results of every med or intervention mentioned, and are hugely important… not just for that, but for your general *health* and well-being. 👍 Whew, LONG post. Hope it was helpful. 😓 Take care ‘Liz, and prioritize peace for yourself, even if it seems at times to be impossible. Easier said than done, I know. (Do you do meditation? I need to.) 🤔 Lates and good night. 👋 🌙

It's like,OK,I give up,this is your new normal.Sure hope so!
❤❤❤Awesome video!! I’m so excited I found out today that my insurance company covers Zepbound!! I’ve been on Tirazepitide since July without insurance coverage so I’m beyond thrilled!! I’m also ordering that chopper! Thank you for always being so honest and inspiring. I also pray your family member is getting better every day!!💕
❤️❤️. 66.7 lbs down, 30 weeks. Sometimes I think it could be a dream and wake up to find myself back at the start. Accepting the joy; my life has been changed and it won’t disappear!! Thank you God for this miracle drug🙏
I’ve been looking at so many of the videos but found this one to be the most interesting so far! Love the way you mix your shopping with your mounjaro info! Can’t wait to order the mason jar lid! ❤
❤. I empathized with you about being emotional about sharing that you will have to lose more than 100 pounds. The most important thing is that you took control of your health and you are changing your habits to be healthier .
I made it this far! 🏃♀️➡️🏃♀️➡️🏃♀️➡️ glad I'm past the colder weather it is currently 45 degrees here now (woot woot). For whatever reason I don't drink as much water when it is cold outside.
❤ Thank you so much for information. This journey has been or I should say can be a roller coaster ride of emotions. I feel I'm a slow loser compared to some, but I'm so exstatic of the weight I've lost. I find it hard to buy clothes because I can't believe I actually wear an 18 now. AND I have high hopes of losing more weight. I too actually have a 100+ lbs to lose and for me I do much better on a weekly basis if I walk everyday. I live in the mtns of NC and it's been cold, so I've been unable to walk everyday, next week I'm getting a walking pad, I'm so excited, this way I'll be able to walk everyday. If I wake up at 3 a.m. I can go downstairs and walk. I never knew walking pads existed, they are lightweight and can be stored under your bed or couch when not in use. Will keep you posted on how it goes. Thanks again for all you do for us!
❤Thank you! Weigh in morning praying scale has moved!! Have had covid for a week, only had soft jello and mashed sweet potatoes for two weeks! Had a bad root canal tooth was cut out! Stitches!! It has been very painful...😮but I am thankfully finally almost over covid l, and maybe my mouth will have completely healed! Im wasting time I have lots of weight to lose! lol Thank you for very informative video as always!❤
thank you Elizabeth. I'm down 58 lbs since April. Been stuck 4 mo. now. No thyroid so my meds are still changing grh. on 10 mg now. Seeing Dr. on 25th to see about moving up to 12.5 🤞still 78 to go. 😊
I'm a T2 diabetic. I started Mounjaro Nov. 30, 2023. I started on 5 mg because I had previously been on 2.5 but then stopped because my insurance wouldn't pay. During the month of December 2023 I lost 10 lbs effortlessly, but then it stopped. Now, it's January 26, 2024 and I'm still stuck in this plateau. Very frustrating. I want to lose 40 more lbs.
💜💛 purple & gold- go JMU dukes 🎉. Thanks for this video! I just titrared up to 12.5 after being by on 10 for several months. Hoping it helps me lose more but understanding the science behind the plateau helps!
I was 334 Lb at the time that I had lap band 10 yrs ago. I have lost @ 60 lb but have not been able to lost more. I have maintained this but need to lose 100 lbs. I like to think of it in 10 lbs increments. I’m hoping the zepbound will jumpstart this 🙏
💜💜 Wow 😮 this was an incredible video!! I rewinded numerous times to relisten to the statistics cause it’s mind blowing and the amount of research and trials that are going on are insane. As much as people scoff about people using any form of the injections for weight loss, it’s going to be literally a saving grace for so many people in their day to day lives, in their health, mental state, metabolic health and so much more!! It’s time for all of America to get back to being healthy whether that’s with an injectable or an oral form of a tool to help accomplish that. We all have to do better, to be better❣️💜💜 oh and I saved this video as it’s a great reference and also let’s be real for the must-haves 😂
♥Thanks for that info. I wouldn't want to be in a clinical trial going higher dose, but research is how we learn, I guess. So question about the renpro tape measure- is there a trick. When I measure and put it in the little clasp thing its too lose and then I can't tighten it when its in there. I don't feel I measure accurately. Is it easier to get someone to do it for you? And do you always clasp it or just hold it. I do like that it's altogether in the app. Thanks
🩵 I made it this far! 🥰 NP was very pleased at my 2 lb per week weight loss. I want to hold onto my muscles. It’s a marathon not a sprint! Yes, you did your lifting! Love you for being vulnerable and getting your truth out. 🩵🙏
It’s fat memory. As far as people having surgery, I know serval who have had surgery and gained everything back because they didn’t change their life. Another way to look at it is if you had high blood pressure and took a medication, it would be for life. How would taking a weight loss medication be any different. Well it wouldn’t.
She explained that in the Part 1 stall vid, which she put up a week ago. This is Part 2, where she explains the ‘why’ of the stall. Guess it coulda been clearer, since the two vids weren’t back-to-back.
WoW-A!!! This is incredible information from the science perspective. Gives me one more reason to show myself some grace and trust the process not the scale. Love ya GF! Have an Awesome rest of the week. 🙏🏻💜🫶🏼
