Time was devoted to long distance phone calls back and forth, coordinating and arranging contingency plans, engaging friends and contacts in Ukraine and Poland to ensure the safe passage of students you don't know or hardly know. That does not equate to not having done anything. If no else does, I take this opportunity again to express my gratitude to your family and all your contacts in Eastern Europe, including the Jamaican living in Poland, for all your generosity and selflessness in ensuring that Jamaican students, strangers, were safe, transported, cared for and sheltered (the ones who were). Thank you, Irina for your coverage of what was a very traumatic many hours for the Jamaican students in the Ukraine. Perhaps it may be worth while to mention that the group of Jaicam students in Poland showed exemplary solidarity with their *brethrin" together with Mrs. Oliwia Musiatowicz,, (who is married to a Jamaican) in the evacuation action. They helped in mustering the convoy and arranged to meet with Miss Denise Sealy, the Charge d'Affaires from our Embassy in Berlin at the border. I know as on that Memorable Sunday night I was on WhatsApp with our students in Poland (they keep in touch with me long after getting their student visas for Poland) and they helped, again by WhatsApp communication to direct her to the border at Medeka. I think that Anthonio Dixon studying in Krakow and Javor Samuels studying in Lodz together with many others should be mentioned in that rescue mission.
