Not to argue, but for PS4 & PS5 platforms, the movie is not on par with JRPG competitors like Final Fantasy or Elden Ring. Falcom needs major upgrades in the quality of movies to keep up with the industry.

@@BLAZER_VA Copy that. Ys series are the only Falcom games I play. I played Ys 1 & 2 back in 1987 when I was 14, so my expectations are quite high. Ys has influenced my life in many ways.

Looks absolutely garbage to me. Literally made for old gen but enhanced resolution for current gen.

Don't forget the signature tunes that are a major part of Ys series. Ys 8 & 9 were incredible, especially those composed by Unisuga. Now, ready for another adventure?

@@JPN850R Meh, 9 was kinda lackluster in that department, and even 8 wasn't as good as it could have been. I really hope that they dropped Singa for this game.

I kind of wish they developed it for the PS5 and dropped especially the Switch version. Well, maybe for YsXI, I'd love to see a new engine for Ys.

@@m.m.2341 Yeah I get what you mean concerning the engine upgrade, would have been nice and probably will be for XI as you say. In my case I'm happy they still thought about people who didn't have the opportunity to get a PS5 yet and still release it for the PS4 owners too.

Long hours

It'll be 1-2 years for Falcom products, unlike FF series as SE has a lot more resources (Falcom is still a minor player in the business, based in Tachikawa, Japan). Falcom relies on Xseed or NIS America for translation & localization. The quality of work force in the U.S is a joke now (at my workplace, more than half the people are not ready to be in the work world). I also wonder how many of them can really understand Japanese. When I had played Celceta, the translation job was miserable, reminded me of 7th grade textbook I had used in the 80's.

I had posted a similar comment a few days ago, and was bullied by a number of others which I assume were all Americans /Japanese or employees at Xseed or NIS America (I am a Japanese native but a legal permanent resident in the United States). The majority of comments were extremely rude & humiliating so I deleted it. My comment was towards the type of English used in Ys series, but I believe young people didn't get my message (I'll be 50 in August, and had played Ys 1~4 real time, which influenced the way I live). The majority of people change when they are anonymous. I hated to see people in the West to wait 1~2 extra years until translation & localization were complete, so I commented I wish I could help Falcom. Had I worked for Falcom, it would've taken me less than a year to complete such work, and I could've done it all by myself. Well, I am an airline mechanic and there was no way I could've worked for Falcom anyway. The type of English used in Ys series degrades the atmosphere compared to Japanese version, as the English used tin the series is tamed, excessively formal and lifeless. I had played U.S market Celceta on PS4, and was appalled to see the domesticated translation (it had Japanese voice available, but no Japanese text). It was clearly destroying the original atmosphere. As opposed to Ys, FF7R had great translation & localization as SE has a lot more resources than does Falcom. Their English was up-to-date and was keeping the same atmosphere as the Japanese version. FF7R also went on sale at the same time worldwide, so no one had to wait. I hope Falcom seeks a better 3rd party for localization and expedites the process so that the fans in the West don't have to wait while Japanese players enjoy the new adventure.

You souldn't have to wait that long, as I can imagine. I believe there are more Ys fans in Western regions than in Japan.

If we compare it to Ys9, we might be looking at early 2025 for the release. Although since there appear to less party members this time around, maybe there will be less to translate and it can be sped up?
