Tekken 8 - all character costumes comparison (TK7 Style - TK7 Outfits) - TK7 vs TK8 - side by side - [4K 60FPS] All the game captures, editing, thumbnail were done by me.
Tekken 8 has finally reached the point where in-game character model look just as good as their CGI scenes. Like Lili finally looks like what her CGI renders were back in Tekken 5-7 if not better!
@@SammyTWT Not what I meant. What I'm saying is the tech of in-game models are so good that it can match it's CGI counterpart and it's intended design, not just because they're using the same models. The fur on Kuma or Panda in-game finally has close to level of fur they have in CGI, unlike before where there was little to none. Like I said, Lili has had more or less the same look in CGI since Tekken 5 DR but it took T8 to get the hime cut and her eyes down just right. It's the details they can finally get right.
@@sckaze777 Right? I would add 7 because her hairstyle in-game was never how it was shown in the CGI renders and cutscenes but now it looks exactly how it should be!
@@LeadMetal82 I personally think in terms of facial diversity and distinction, TTT2 did the best. Though T8 looks amazing in many ways, one thing I do think is a thing is the similarity of faces between female characters, like Reina and Asuka. Also this is just a personal opinion, but T8 Jun looks a bit too porcelain perfect. In TTT2 she *actually* looked like Jin’s mother, like you could see the similarities.
@@noecases5940 it's because Zafina appeared in Season 3 in T7 - the devs team were already familiar with model rendering by that time, so she looked unsurprisingly a lot better in T7 than in T6
Yeah, both stances are practically night and day. Jin in Tekken 7 is like "We're gonna fight? Ok then" and Jin in Tekken 8 is "Ok, I'm gonna beat you senseless!"
i would say alisa's face was the biggest shock to me her face finally doesn't look like a plastic mould of every female face it has some personality behind it now
@@user-oy9om9kf3y Will they are still adapting with the unreal engine 5 mechanics it's gonna take them quite some time to finally master it who knows it might happen in the next Tekken game in the future or whatever project they'll pull off next if there even is any but so far they really did a great job with what they had to work with
@@mohabalserafe3795yea alot of people don't realize how devs aren't still use to unreal engine 5 hence why there isn't a lot of games using it plus it's still being updated and etc if I'm not mistaken so we aren't gonna see anything fully utilize and completely mind-blowing for awhile if ever maybe. This is the best it's gonna look and it looks great tbh
just as fun as seeing the model differences is hearing the voice acting differences. so many of the VAs really show so much progress in capturing how the characters should sound
Timestamps for each character 0:05 Jin 0:29 Kazuya 1:05 Alisa 1:43 Asuka 2:18 Paul 2:55 Law 3:29 Hworang 3:58 Nina 4:32 Xiao Yu 5:03 Lili 5:38 Zafina 6:17 Lars 6:49 Lee 7:24 King 7:53 Brian 8:31 Yoshimitsu 9:04 Steve 9:38 Claudio 10:12 Panda 10:44 Kuma 11:26 Jack 11:57 Leo 12:28 Leroy 13:08 Feng 13:41 Shaheen 14:13 Dragonnov 14:49 Devil Jin
RU-vid doesn’t give tekken 8 justice. It’s significantly so much prettier and smoother it feels like I’m in a constant CGI cutscene I played tekken 7 legit last week and realised the insane difference Tekken 8 really did take advantage of next gen
Just incredible. Tekken 8 is the best the series has ever looked by far. Phenomenal graphics and renders. Great job to all those involved in making and designing the game.
Ehh not really, tekken 7 released off the back of the worst performing entry of the franchise (Tag 2). They didn’t have much of a budget to spend anyway even if they wanted to. Tekken 8 is built off the achievements, success and competitive scene built from Tekken 7, so naturally since they’ve got more resources to work with, they have more budget.
@@atif_ali10 I loved Tekken 7, but wasn’t that big fan of it like the previous, however Im appreciative of Tekken 7’s huge success for making Tekken 8 a lot better, in my opinion Tekken 8 is alot better than Tekken 7, hopefully in more years to come it will get better, now it’s hard for me to get back to Tekken 7 due to being in love with Tekken 8 😂
@@TheShocker650 it isn’t texture resolution. It’s art style. Tekken 7 has a poor art direction and looks less realistic even with more polygons and hi res textures. The characters have a unrealistic shine to their skin like a toy figure and looks like they have Lego hair. The hair doesn’t even move the same as it did in tekken 6
@@monotypical_ I like the shine on their skin. I like it much more than the plasticine look of Street Fighter 5. A lot of the characters look ugly in Tekken 6, especially Nina and Kazuya.
@@monotypical_ I like the shine on the characters a lot. It looks far better than the low resolution plasticine look of Street Fighter 5 for example. To me a lot of the characters look ugly in Tekken 6, like Nina and Kazuya for example.
@@halionextra Although his tekken 5 visual was really menacing, his tekken 5 voicelines are the same until tekken 7. In fact his voicelines in t5 didn't even have reverb and really was just a copy of Jin's. It wasn't until T5 dr that they added the reverb effect.
MEN they look really INSANE everything about tekken 8 is NEW, i also love how they have actual new voice lines when they fight like always the animations remain the same, just with some really minor changes amazing!
Lili used to look directly at the camera in her old intros and rage art, now she looks directly at her opponent. It feels like she takes it more seriously
The game before tekken 7 was tekken tag tournament 2 and from what i know it did pretty bad in the markets which eventually led to bandai almost killing this entire franchise all together So tekken 7 was basically a last resort with limited budget to try and save the series and it somehow did extremely good which made them had more budget hence the massive improvements in tekken 8
@@oliviasoul5898 I see....well, for me.. Tekken 6 graphic was so good, So does TTT2 but was so underrated. TTT2 had such good graphics and everything, maybe it just bad at marketing.
@@nu4473 it's not like that. Tbh I still prefer Tekken 6 and TTT2 graphics tho ngl, the old ones.. but I 'm glad Tekken 8 upgraded the graphics. I'm not saying I hate the Tekken 7 graphics,it looks a bit lifeless but Tekken 8 brings it alive you know what I mean?
Lars face got massive upgrade! You can see the determination and conviction in his expression compared to his T7 counterpart 6:47. Lili got a huge glow up for her hair and everything. Also she winks at you in her T8 Outro which just adds so much personality into her 5:34. Overall a majority of the female characters doll faces and dead eyes from T7 got remedied in T8. All the men got much better faces and the increased quality in muscle definition just made something already great even greater.
I've been watching videos of T8 for so long and now actually playing it and I still can't get over how good this game looks. The character models are S Tier.
Wow! That's a massive upgrade from tekken 7 to tekken 8 characters, details and they seem look alive on latest version. Please everyone, I encourage you all to buy this game at full price. Not only the character models are worth but also the game mechanics and system that has much better than the previous ones. This game is literally the best fighting game of all time and its soundtracks especially Tekken 8! This game is a legend! And its developers too!
One weird thing about Panda and Kuma, their mouths never move during actual gameplay Everywhere else (intro/winning screens, story cutscenes) their mouths move accordingly. No idea why but ever since I noticed it I can't unsee it
I always found it to be an odd change for Law's Tekken 7 dragon pants to have no physics because it had those back in Tekken 6 and Tekken Tag 2. What fabric was on their mind when they made that change?
I will say, I kind of liked Shaheen's idle animation where he's flexing his hand like his mind is racing as he measures up his opponent. It's a shame that little detail isn't in his new model.
I was sitting here thinking why i just can't get into the new street fighter games, and this explains it. I felt so much Nostalgia watching this vid... namco has done its fans justice
Many games don't *wow* me any more with their graphical jump between instalments. Tekken is an exception. The difference in hair, eyes, skin, and cloth is massive.
Looking at Jin Tekken 7 model reminded me of a time where i always spam his RA in Treasure battle and thinking i was good lol. Ah the good old memories
one thing I noticed thanks to this video is how important subtle eye movements are , used in tandem with mocap, take alisa's segment of the video for instance, she sways a lot in her idle animation putting her weight down from one foot to the other and tilting her head up and down as a consequence, in real life your eyelids would follow the movement, when your head tilts backword they'd slightly close and the eye would rebalance in order to keep looking straight ahead (in this case looking at the other fighter) somehow the sways look better in tekken 7 even being basically the same animation, maybe because of the uncanny valley effect tricking me with the high-quality model of tekken 8, looking way more realistic graphically but clashing more with the old eye movement
The Graphical Fidelity jump model-wise is so high and I am so happy that my Almost obsolete PC is still able to play it between 50-60 FPS at 1600x900, medium settings.
Huh, shame Kazuya didn't get a new animation for his idle, Jin moves a lot differently, I would've liked it if it was like his idle animation in Street Fighter X Tekken or Smash Ultimate
It's crazy how great the graphics have improved. Tekken 7 is a pretty old game tho too all things considered, but Tekken has always been top notch with expanding graphics with each iteration. Always crazy looking back on old models and graphics and thinking "That's what I've been looking at this whole time?!" without fail. There's a gonna be time where Tekken 8 is gonna look like graphics from the past. *Brain explosion sfx png*
I still can’t believe they are still able to improve the graphics and visuals to this day. I still remember seeing tekken 3 in the arcades being blocky messes and even the first virtua fighter where the characters jumped like they were on the moon
Will gotta give Tekken 7 the credit it deserves had it flopped as well as Tekken tag tournament before it the franchise would have been dead for good and we wouldn't have seen those huge improvements in the new game
finally they have overcome that 'dead eye' look. it's the first thing i noticed with the side to side comparison next to graphics and the way improved facial expressions. unreal engine 6 will be real hard to recognise from reality.
i actually like tekken 7 nina, look at that smug face. BUT DAMN t7 asuka and lili hurts to see (lars too). T8 asuka looks good sure but it doesnt have the same vibes from her pre tekken 7 face models, idk how to put it into words. T8 lili tho.. mwah
I knew i wasn't crazy. Something felt off with Asuka. She got thicc. Her chest is definitely larger, and she has actual muscle on her thighs and arms. Which makes sense since she bikes everywhere and does archery.
I like that in some waythe models in TK8 has a more distinctive look that represents the nationality and origin of the character more than 7. Take Alisa as an example, with the modification and some ingame angle (especially one shown in the video) you can easily tell she came from Russia (I mean, she is modeled after Dr. Bosconovitch deceased daughter, who was a Russian) since she really sparks the Russian vibe and look exactly as how a common Russian might look - which is directly different from her generic anime-looking model in 7. And that just does not stop with her, you have Lars with a Scandinavian look, Lili is now a true European, Claudio is as Italian as ever, and more.
I love that when you actually give the player what they want they respond positively? The reason why these games continue is because of the dedicated fanbase!
You can tell they ñut much effort on DLC characters like Zafina than in the base roster of Tekken 7. Is crazy the transformation Lili or Asuka got where they look like dolls on 7 and actual people on 8 while Zafina is looking much better and is not such a crazy jump from game to gsme desing wise
Tekken 7 character models looks off. It's like the artists cookie cut the same faces for all of the characters. Male character nips look like they just painted them on with a single shade. 😂 Female character hair (especially Lili's) is just terrible to look at. I don't understand why they removed the lighting as seen in the Vanilla version of Tekken 7, which looks so much better. Anyway, Tekken 8 fixes all that. Really good graphics. 👍Can't wait for Miguel to join the fight roster.
Even small things like how Jin's fighting stance looks a lot more solid are worth noticing. You see how the change makes Jin look more focused and combat ready.
