@@eeiskindamusical.7091 in the land of the rising sun with my friend mizz featherbutt XD...well it should taste good, I spent a long time watching cooking shows.
Monoko's tutorial on how to cook 1- Learn to do it by watching or reading about it 2- Try and do it for yourself 3- Forget about it until it literally explodes 4- Done! Delicious.( ° Δ°)
...and now I permanently wonder if it just looked horrible but tasted fantastic...or she faked it tasting fantastic for the sake of her friend. I really, really can't tell. LoL
I don't know for certain what the creator intended, but to me it seems like it was faked. She takes a bite and it takes about 10 seconds for her to look like she enjoyed it, which I feel would be way too long to not notice something is delicious, and the little curved lines above her eyes when she looks like she is enjoying it looks to me like lines when someone is putting on a fake smile but their eyes aren't convincing. The way she moves her eyes while she is chewing is going from looking away from Monoko with pretty squinted eyes, looking more upwards, then looking at Monoko with more open eyes, which could be her looking away in disgust, while the looking up could mean just trying to get through chewing it and getting it over with, and looking at Monoko trying to not look so unenthused for her friend's sake, looking at her face and realizing she has to act like it's good or her feelings will get hurt. On the other hand she took such a small looking bite it could have just taken a long time to really taste it. She chewed it 12 times after the bite which seems like more than you'd need for how little she bit off, so perhaps she couldn't taste it initially and had to chew it more to try to notice the flavor, and once she did, she noticed it was great. Her eyes motions could have started as begrudgingly chewing the croissant, but the eyes shifting up and then to the side opening more could be her looking around while she is eating it, trying to figure out what it tastes like in sort of a "this doesn't taste too bad actually" kindof sense, and the lines above her closed eyes could just represent something so good it almost brings you to tears and gives a vaguely sad expression. As she chews the food the music distorts, but it distorts less as she looks at Monoko later in chewing, which could either be her getting used to the bad flavor and getting ready to put on an act of liking it, or the taste not being as bad as she expected but not noticing right away. TL:DR I think it's kindof vague and all the body language could be interpreted either way depending on what you want to believe, but I still think it was bad based on the pot exploding and it looking so awful, but who knows for sure besides the creator. Maybe they wanted people to have their own interpretation.
god the use of the white desert song at 1:04 as a sound effect for the beat is equal parts genius and hilarious. hats off to ya gobou, you're truly the best.
The whole animation is great, but what always blows me away about this video is how clearly you can tell that she says "itadaki masu" at 0:33. To be able to pull that off with so few pixels truly shows how utterly god-tier gobou's sprite-work is.
I think the reason everyone loves monoko so much is because she has a perpetual face of shock yet she is one of the most expressive characters, on this channel at least.
Just to help out the people looking for music: The first one is Girl with Flaxen Hair by Claude Debussy. The dramatic second piece is Giuseppe Verdi Dies Irae Libera me. The tasting one, rag-time, Eric Satie Picadilly, in 8-bit. The music interrupting the Picadilly is what plays in the White Desert section in Yume Nikki. Then it's Spring from Vivaldi's Four Seasons.

@@mysterynotch9098In Japanese, most of the time you leave out the word for he/she, and there is no he in that sentence but the translator added it in to make it make sense in English.
translation: The world is black and white, but very beautiful... The expression and movement are insanely cute and interesting! (and i agree with this this type of animation is highly underrated and really good)
0:51 “I woke up this morning and made a lot for breakfast. It was delicious, so I brought some over for you.” 1:10 “What kind of recipe and utensils did you use?” 1:26 “Don’t worry about that. It’s great. Watch.”

My pp Itch watch the first FRENZ video, you'll see it's a nuke that goes off in the background, behind the horizon. The characters seem to not pay attention to nuclear explosions. The character that's like the nuke here is Takofuusen. If you watch closely, at low speed, you can see the last frame is an explosion.
Super depressing if you follow theories but encountering her for the first time was awesome! When I was a kid I didn't know about the stoplight thing though...
