great to see that even to this day people are holding back on spoiling the uninitiated. even if the ending in the grand scheme is so minor, the buildup from the gameplay and understanding of madotsuki is what makes it so special. i wouldn't wanna ruin seeing it for the first time after seeing all the world for anyone
Mural World and Ending make me feel some...... type of way. Like, I'm all alone in a long forgotten town, struggling to hold on to my fleeting memories of it.
Sky garden... my favorite place in the game, the first time it is quite difficult to find, but it is worth it to get to the sky garden and listen to that relaxing music and that beautiful view of the city
Okay..... Sewers actually followed my brief mouse movements for a second. And then I moved it again and it followed my mouse AGAIN. Actually freaked me out for a minute.... bruh..
Very epic video. Although I was not old enough at the time to experience the peak of this stuff, but when I discovered Yume Nikki a few years ago I really enjoyed it. (This video also reminds me a lot of the undertale ost videos in some way.)
Honestly, I feel bad for Uboa. It doesn't seem like a malicious being, even though it's appearance is very sudden and the room starts shaking with it. In fact, it _smiles_ at you. But when you go and touch them, their face scrunches as if in pain, then you get transported to the nightmarish world. You hurt them. They stop smiling, and they can't smile again after that. You hurt them so badly they can't heal from it, and now you are trapped in the world of suffering you made. And all it did was startle you. However, I speak as someone who hasn't personally played the game or read the manga so take my interpretation with a grain of salt.
The only thing I know about Yume Nikki is the Lake Corridor one because it was sampled in an album that's literally a 3 hour long rabies simulation and so that's the one that scares the shit out of me 😅
I was looking at 1:43 and I was literally thinking "It would be so scary if someone randomly made an edit of this image to move the eyes to look at the camera slightly" and I got horrified when it ACTUALLY HAPPENED
Because of Yume Nikki I’ve been inspired to make a game about reliving my dreams. It’s going to be like a mix of omori and Yume Nikki 🤑. Tho my dreams aren’t weird just very depressing soooo.
