Fun fact: MXTX had the most trouble writing XieLian’s character. She said it was because he had to have a consistent personality that makes sense even as he goes through all the pain and suffering. She also said she is still not completely satisfied with the published version.
I will never stop talking about how much Xie Lian is so well written. He’s such a good main character. I love his personality, his way of thinking, of acting, even after all the things he went through, he never takes somethings for granted, never. He suffered so much and alone and yet, he still smiles and has never changed. If you think about it, Xie Lian is a person who often smiles, even in situations where people mock him or humiliate him. His smile hides so many emotions, and just after he met Hua Cheng his smile was finally, really, genuine and warmer. He found his true source of happiness. He got his well deserved happy ending.
This novel is literally amazing, book 4 hurt so much, too much that it was difficult to read, Xie lian’s backstory is so full of pain, despair and guilt and yet he is still such a good person, he was betrayed by everyone and he finally find someone who will stay by his side, their love is everything
I remembered he tried to resort alongside with his parents, but couldn't. He was really desperate to cross over but he can't, and the silk he had tried use to resort became Ruoye, the silk we all know and love now. He's immortal, so it's impossible for him to escape the pain through death. The only way is to forget about it

What an amazing animatic! Had my heart-wrenching remembering the Xianle trio's (especially Mu Qing and Xie Lian's) past...even near the end, with Hua Cheng burst into butterflies, it was still so sad...but I was soothed with the adorable lantern hugging chibis at the end! Thank you for this beautiful work :D

It’s been a while since i read the novel and watching this majestic animatic really brought all the memories back and now it’s 3 am and I’m crying. I’m completely awestruck by your style of storytelling combined with your impressively expressive art style. The animatic is just so impactful and soul stirring. I just can’t get enough of it.

I really wanna see book 2 & 4 already 😭 and that ending, you are so foul for that, you just made me imagine tgcf with that ending but no more coming back and now im just devastated nsksksks
