TGCF literally got us fucked up, like the first time when we started reading we were like "oh, such a heartwarming story I guess I can very well get along with it". And then MXTX literally stabbed us with a humongous saber and kicked us off a cliff, then she just gives us a healing band-aid for the wound and pat our heads.
Yea but before that, he did yell, shake, throw Xielian back to the hole, nag for compensation, take his anger out onto the poor suicidal boy (I can understand his perspective tho.) Xielian just wanted a single one good intention in humanity. Still shout out to that guy anyway
The little details like the facial expressions, the blood, the ghost fire is amazing! Even after everything his highness went through he still standing at the end smiling 😭❤️❤️
A detail I absolutely love about this video is how, once Xie Lian gets the bamboo hat, the animation is no longer in black and white, but has colours in it. Before that, the only color was red for blood, but after the hat, we sees Xie Lian's eye and hair color, as well as Bai WuXiang's hair. It's a nice little touch.
I am once again struck by how clearly you can track Xie Lian's mental state through the level of control he has over his fall. Like... going form flailing, to tumbling to rolling and ultimately regaining full control to the point that he is able to stand up again. Like. It's been a while since I read the novel, but I can still match the story 1-to-1 to the depiction of his fall in this.

This is so beautiful - it really captures the feel of Book 4, and I love how at the end, after all that suffering and losing his faith in everything, he is finally able to stand up with a determined look and a smile.
I come back to this video a lot. Your animation is breathtaking and heart wrenching and simply... amazing. Thank you. I cannot put it into words how much I love it. Xie Lian did absolutely nothing wrong. Everything was not his fault yet he had to take the brunt for everything. He tried his best, he wanted the best and achieved almost nothing and in the end was left alone. It hurts. Those few chapters tore me apart. While I haven't experienced even half as much as he did, it hits home in some way. The uselessness you feel while trying and trying, being alone in the end, having no one at your side or rejecting people who want to be.. I think we all somehow once felt like him. So when he almost became the White-No-Face I... understood. It made sense. Would I have been in his situation, maybe I'd have reacted the same way. Of course it's fiction and nothing like this could/would/should happen IRL, but still. I simply can't wrap my head around how someone as kind as Xie Lian had to go through this. MXTX did an excellent job creating both Xie Lian and Hua Cheng. That Xie Lian still gave humanity a chance and just.. lived his life the best he could afterwards shows how strong and beautiful he really is. I often laugh at Simp Lang but really, how could you not fall in love with him or worship Xie Lian? I am literally addicted to this Novel/Manwhua/Donghua/Fan-Material. Sorry I had to write so much I'm still on the path of persuading/forcing my peers to read the novel lol Have no one to simp over it

I only started tcgf this year but watched the video when it came out bc rolling girl was one of my favorite childhood vocalood hits. Now i rewatch this every once in a while marveling at how good it is w the pacing and summarising xianle's downfall and i realise ive NEVER left a comment??? Shame. This is so so beautiful, the song fits Xie Lian so well with how much pain he goes through, always falling but always getting up. The animated clips were amazing. The part with ghost fire Hua Cheng blazing at 1:26 was so emotional it made me cry. Beautiful!!!!

this is genuinely so well made. I like how he looks like hes trying to stand up but ends up falling back down and rolling in a few parts, and i love how even after everything he went through, he still smiled at the end

This is absolutely amazing! This was my favorite animatic of vocaloid songs due to how fluid the animations tend to be, and only now have I gotten this video recommended to me. It's incredible that someone made a TGCF version of this and, on top of that, it fits so unusually well as a narrative for the story, thank you so much for making this❤❤

Tian Guan Ci Fu will forever be in my top favorite novels (alongside wushuang) and I’ve seen other versions of the rolling girl meme but yours is the most crisp and highest quality of animation that I had ever seen from a fan made video. And as much as I LOVE TGCF, book 2 and 4 will always break me (especially 4) this video shows all his emotions and you adding in some book scenes was just 🤌🏼✨ beautiful work
