I always get tears in my eyes when I see this scene. Lan Zhan crying when he hears the truth about Wei Ying. When they're in the boat and Wen Ning tells him the rest of the story. You can tell Lan Zhan was asking himself, "Why didn't he tell me?" That scene is so heartbreaking but, someone had to tell truth, or Wei Ying would still be misunderstood.
as painful as this scene is, it's one of my favorites. This is where everyone understands the sacrifice WWX was willing to make for his brother; his most selfless act from his first life.
Lwj is in tears, he is overwhelmed by range of emotions, so do audiences. He has already been in love with WY for many years, but even he never understood why WY abandoned his sword. After knowing the reason, he appreciates and respects him even more, it is like you suddenly discovering treasure troves from a person you already knew having so much good qualities in him. His heart arches for WY’s pain and suffering, also deeply regrets what he had said to him before. He promises to himself he will love him and indulge him unconditionally from now on.
Lan Zhan really does promise himself to indulge Wei Ying and he keeps it. I'm so glad the show was able to keep this touching moment from the novel, because I don't think it would have been the same if it didn't.
Wen Ning and his caring heart trying to protect Wei Ying like a trusted friend should. And seeing Lan Zhan face when he is telling the story and thinking about how brave he is for giving JC his golden core. 😁
The 3 tears of LZ and then finding out the rest of it on the boat was like taking a knife and tearing your insides to shreds. Both scenes were absolutely heartbreaking. I couldn’t care less if JC found out; but LZ’s reaction to finally understanding just how much his best friend sacrificed for others....just no words. I’ve rewatched this series many times and each time, these two scenes are just the most powerful. Great job to all of the actors. Award winning performance. 🌺
Um...you do know Lan Zhan and Wei Ying got married in the novel, right? The series just couldn't directly show romantic relationship between them, because of some Chinese censorship.
@Ace Kim I mean it's a Grey Area because in the original novel they definitely aren't just friends but they had to change it in the live action and tonhua specifically to fit censorship laws
We should thank these actors, actress and crews who worked for this drama. Because of the crew's guide and professional, because of the actors' and actresses' effort, we could watch this high level of drama nowadays. this scene, I think I will give a big thumb up for Jiang Cheng and Wen Ning.
That so Sad part i never see this before. i mean Wei wuxian has sweet man! and now Yei Ying feel bad what he have done And Nice Clip Video Too I love it!
honestly tho i don't blame him? wei wuxian could have told him why he suddenly abandoned Jiang Cheng when he became sect leader, whey he embarrassed him and mocked him by not carrying his sword or participating. While he had good intentions, WWX literally got his entire family murdered
