I was about to say that this is the place Crowe played at the Holiday Inn for so many years. But then I noticed the lineup and realized that, as someone else has mentioned, this is Crowe’s band. I was in there several years ago when it was empty. I swear it looked about the size of a large living room with a tiny stage about six inches off the floor. That stage should be in a hall of fame somewhere.

At the Beginning of the show Red says "Red Spurlock" kind of of randomly. Spurlock had played banjo on some of Reds first records after he left the Osbornes, and I saw him playing bass with him at a show in the 80s. I wonder if he was in the crowd?

I talked to Red Allen for about an hour and a Half sitting in his car in 1989...and he told me that in them times you thought you better deliver a joke...no Matter the cost...

Dark Hollow just kills me - I've heard that for years and it still sounds so good. The harmony and dynamics...wow. I think Doyle plays the bass when Bobby is sawin on the infidel....

"I'm going back to old Kentucky" Red Allen- Mandolin, Doyle Lawson-banjo, Not sure if J.D or Bobby Sloan is on guitar .and or bass. I think J.D. is on bass and Sloan on guitar. Either way they seemed to be having a good time. The best part is when Crowe says "Thank you very much." and Red says in 2 years that's the most he's ever said on stage..

Bobby Slone played bass and switched to fiddle every once in a while.

The playing, fantastic. And the harmonies, amazing. Red Allen is a great singer, but I was hoping by 1968 that he would have stopped telling racist jokes. (a damn shame).

This is actually J.D. Crowe and the Kentucky Mountain Boys. Red Allen, Doyle Lawson and Bobby Slone are the band.
