I probably don’t know the entire story but I have seen quite a few documentaries about IU’s past and what she went through at a young age. Doesn’t her dad feel ashame? Seems like every time I see interaction between IU and her family members, her dad and her brother, they are always asking IU to buy them stuff. Yet, like this and other videos showed, even IU’s manager and probably worldwide fans know more about IU than her dad and brother…. Even IU herself would say that her dad is always asking her for things like he keeps having her buy him new cars and as for her brother, she say her brother doesn’t call her unless he wants her to give him pocket money.. I know IU is strong after everything she’s gone through but I can’t help but feel so sorry for her…
I guess, one really can misunderstood about their relationship, but i think iu reveal all those things about what her dad wants and also about her brother, just for humour purpose. Like even tho iu's currently one of the most paid artist in korea, her parent still work, cus they doesn't want to rely much on her fortune. From my pov, i think they have a great family relationship 😊

If you had watched her videos, what I said how her dad ask her for a new car almost every year and she was actually shock because he didn’t ask her this one year, turned out it was because he wanted the new car from the next year model, also about her brother rarely ever called her unless it’s for money, these words are not from news or a third party source. Every word I saw and heard directly from IU’s mouth when she was talking about her family in various interviews. Sure, she can afford it and when she continues to give them whatever they want, sure, everyone‘a happy and they look to have a great relationship. If you are an IU fan, you do know what happened throughout her childhood, you would also know she struggled for quite a while with eating disorders because of impossible beauty standards and depression from feel alone, right? Would she feel so alone if she had such a great family supporting her? I don’t know. You don’t know. Only IU knows deep down inside.. when people she works with knows more about her personal details than her parents, that doesn’t look good…
@@fridayblues216 well i guess, it depends on how each of us interpret then, and i respect that if you see that way 😊 but the way how she smiles so brightly just from talking about her dad alone, really warms my heart, i can see that she is happy, at least in my pov 💜

She stated several times that she likes when her dad does that because it gives her an opportunity to be a filial child. and you keep talking “if you seen her videos” blah blah, what about all the videos where she mentioned how much she loved her dad while growing up and how his loving personality set the standard for her future significant other. About her brother, she also stated a lot that they’re awkward because of their relationship growing up. she said she wasn’t the best sister to him and was tough on him, obviously they wouldn’t be super close to have to talk to each other all the time but as siblings that isn’t necessary to show love. It’s common to be like that with your sibling. And no matter how close one is with their parents, that doesn’t mean they want their parents to know every single thing they go through. She has friends for a reason, she doesn’t need to rely on her parents for everything and for you to assume that her relationship with her family isn’t good because of reasons like that is something that would make IU herself upset.
