I just wanted to say that this tutorial works for just about any expression and or idle animation you wanted to add. I added a tongue flicker for my little snake that is sitting on my shoulder and set it to flicker for about every min or so, while i do have a toggle to do it manually this just feels more immersive. And yeah the snake and the tongue flicker is a recent addition that i finished with the help of your tutorial

does anyone know how to get the idle animation to stop once you trigger the expression off?? cause I tried to follow this tutorial and in VTS, first of all: I have a hard time getting the expression to turn off at all, I have to create a whole other expression to force it to turn off. second of all: the idle animation will always be tears unless I physically change it? cause when I toggle the expression off, the tears still play

Thank you so much for this tutorial! Just to check if I understood: the bubbles/sparkles in your model's dress are also an idle animation created with this method? If so, does it mean that if you wanted to make a crying animation you'd have to include the dress bubbles in it (so basically duplicating your base animation and adding the tears)? I hope I phrased it correctly but basically I'm wondering of how to make more than one animation coexist
is it just me or is anyone else getting an issue where the tears are getting sucked back into the eyes. When going through the loop in the parameters it works fine, when i make the animation it was fine. Only when exporting it to Vtube studio did i start having issues
So I'm wondering however why it seems like the animation is seperate form the actual like expression? I can set the expression as a hotkey with no animation but if i want the tears to have the animation it doesn't toggle with it..

Hey Mukono san! Look here what i say: 17:18 ! You need to delete the keyframe in your "Sad" special expression! You use it while making the loop.. otherwise you wouldn't see the tears ^_^ But when you are finished, you have to remove that keyframe before saving ♥ Amazing job with your model

For the tongue you have two different types of ways of doing it: 1) emote triggered by a key 2) tracked tongue The second one is way harder and advanced, but if you need it you can follow this tutorial vtuberkaibougaku.site/2020/05/11/live2d-tongue/ Many have asked me a tutorial on it but i'm still not confident enough in it ;_;

Do I still need to bake the physics when I've made the animation in the Animation tab? Or will the physics just automatically work if I've specifically made physics for the wave?

I can't get the animation to loop in vtube studio. It doesn't even recognize the animation file when 'set/unset expression' is selected. It does acknowledge it with the 'toggle animation', but it will only play it once. I'm so new to this, I don't even know where to start with troubleshooting.

When you are making the animation, make sure you delete the parameter that shows the Sad expression in Live 2d, Export the animation and go on Vtube live and it should only appear when you toggle the sad expression.
Is creating an idle animation the only way to apply a looping animation? My model already has an default idle animation but I want to create an expression with a looping animation. Do I have to replace the default idle animation to do this or is there another method? I tried the "Play Animation" action, but that only plays the animation once and doesn't loop. The only other thing I can think to do is to animate a bunch of loops manually and export it as one large animation, but that seems like such a waste.

Thank you for these all tutorial videos, they're really useful! But I have a question: at first my tears was static, so I add an idle animation for them and it worked! But after that I couldn't stop the animation. So I deleted the keyform from Sad parameter in my animation file and exported it again. But after that idle animation stoped working. And now I can show/hide my tears by pressing hotkey, but there's no playing animation. What should I do? 👉🏻👈🏻
You need to create a parameter called "cry" or something like that to enable/disable the expression Then you go in the expressions tab in Vtube studio, edit expressions, creste new expression and toggle the cry one Now create a new hotkey and add it like any other expression ^_^
@@YoshinoArt I already did it! But for some reason the expression doesn't work properly... If I delete this one keyframe in "Cry" motion file itself and export it after that, then animation of tears dropping just stop working in Vtube studio, it's staying static. But if I keep this one keyframe, then "Cry" expression stuck and I can't disable it. I don't understand 🥲

I have the toggle created for the crying expression and the motion file made for the expression but when i set expression and set the motion file to the idle animation in Vtube studio, the expression will toggle but the animation doesnt play. is there another step we're missing...?
Just copy-paste the keyforms from one idle into the other timeline, so you have both animations in one timeline and you're good! If you idle loops don't line up you might have to do multiple loops until they line up
Hello! You probably have to open your animation file again (the one with the timeline) and delete the dot from the "cry toggle" row (right click it and hit delete keyframe) ;)
This is a longshot, does anyone know why when I import the model into the animation mode, the cryloop is not showing working? The loop works in the model mode. But when its imported and I try adding the keyframes the tear I moved, just stays in its original spot. It's so weird, it's ONLY when I'm in animation mode ; v ;
Have you tried saving the model and opening the animation mode again? Also make sure to momentarily turn on the cry animation so that the tear shows up ^_^

@@Wendy-nm6lj Are you using an iphone x or newer? that's a feature trackable only with iPhone that has truedepth And no, you can make a deformer containing the eye, use it for the expression and it won't affect the blinking ^_^
Hello again! This was a very good tutorial so I tried using it also for when I was making and idle animation where my model falls asleep but don’t really know how I can get it to work after I export it? I exported the file just now out of live2d cubism but do I need to take any other steps to make it work since it doesn’t show up as an option in VTube studio. I haven’t connected it to a parameter but I just wanna know how I can get it to work!
@@Scandein oh yes! Make sure that you export the model too and the animation file is in the exported model folder Then you should find your animation in VTS when you click "Idle animation( when tracking lost"

Hello! I definitely should make a tutorial on that ^_^ in general tho it's very easy, you just select your element (for example eyebrow) make it active in your expression parameter and change every shape of it to be sad when the toggle is on, to the right (or whatever expression you want)
Try to use one time modeling> edit shape > copy shape and then same but paste Sometimes the hotkey bugs Also if you're using the free version, this tool can't be used

Thank you again for another tutorial. I seem to be stuck again... I exported the file (not touched any settings) and it has a motion3.json extension. When I select the hotkey action as set/unset expression in Vtube studio and try and find the motion3.json in the Expression select, Vtube studio doesn't find the file even when it's in the same folder as the model. I've noticed that the file you select has an extension of .exp.json file instead of a motion3.json? Did I miss something?
Hello! Your idle animation doesnt go in the expressions! You have to put it in the "idle animation" button, it's right below where you can put the icon of your model in Vtube Studio, in the parameters section

Hi! I'm trying to making a loop of a spinning wheel, but when I turn the Idle on in Vtube Studio, there's a awkward pause between each loop. Is there a way to fix this? The loop looks fine in Live2D.
Hello! So when you play the animation in live2d, click on the "loop" button that is on the left of the timeline. If the loop is not seamless you will see it there. My tip to make it seamless is that you can also take the last dot in the end of the timeline and move them a bit to the right, outside of the working area. This way you can either move them a bit more left or right, to avoid the weird pause!
