Like, the balls that crew had to fully man. And fire their guns while submerged, in a all but suicidal actions, is just massive. As massive as our disappoint with Shinji.
TheNinjaDC wasn’t there an order given for everyone to evacuate the ships? They were on auto pilot (and yes I’m aware that’s not a real thing, but this is in the Evangelion universe)
The fact that they had a laser Karl Gerat "mortar" (it's no longer a mortar at this point, it's a laser cannon looks like Karl Gerat) is what made me question "WTF is with the UN in this universe?"
Fanon has it that after the 2nd impact the UN basically became the world policing force. So instead of peacekeepers they basically became the BIG BLOODY STICK of the new world order. Hence the crazy upgrade in lethality. Cruise missle bombers and N2 mines? To keep world capitals compliant. Battleships? Best way to root out pirates - vaporize their hideout and everthing remotely close to it! Swarms of VTOLs? Basically a more brutal version of US airborne operations in Vietnam.
This is what the UN is supposed to be, a united government of earth....if we combine all efforts of great mind across the world we can achieve new height humankind advancement in all fields. We can even achieve what the UN in anime have...
I love how without scenes of the angel fighting back it just looks like hes standing there all confused while the army wails away on him. "Ow, quit it. Knock it out. Why are you doing this?"
Angel: *Gets shot, blown up, lasered, blown up more, blown up even more, shot a couple more times* "Ha Ha Ha. This is nothing!" Angel: *Gets punched* "CALL AN AMBULANCE!"
I don't know either 😂😂 but I think maybe they transform the energy from the explosions in other thing or something like that, but a punch is a different kind of energy that requires another device or stuff but they can't have both at same time or something like that We need a physics teacher 😂
sniper fuazo Still, they did their best. They knew or at least suspected that Angels are near-invulnerable to conventional arms, but they still tried to slow them down.
@@somedudeonline1936 They had "N2 Munition" a non-nuclear device at least in the kiloton range. That's what totaled Misato's car at 0:41 . My guess is that their military planners estimated that if that weapon didn't work nukes wouldn't either, plus they would have to deal with their dirty side effects. They're stopping the things in Japanese soil, one of their members after all, so I guess they would avoid the collateral damage. What I don't understand is, that in a couple of cases (specially one of the Angels in low orbit) they could have fired a salvo of ICBMs from the Chinese, Russian and American SSBN's they should have lurking in Japanese waters because of the war (plus those launches from the sea would have made pretty animation 😂 ) For first poster. The UN in real life looks ineffective but that is largely by design of the Big 5 in the Security Council, that hamstring their Peacekeeping efforts since the beginning by putting draconian limitations on the scope of their missions in the Charter or sabotage their budget ( the US is specifically guilty of that last one, is a very unreliable partner). The reason for this is because they prefer that no institution exist that might interfere with their Geopolitical goals. Even with those limitations the UN has brokered countless peace agreements and fulfilled Peacekeeping missions specially in the Global South, on a shoestring budget of barely $6 billion. Is the only game in town but their failures are more publicized than it's success. That is also by design. This anti UN rethoric is typical American right wing pablum.
Love how even in the post apocalypse when the earth had been ravaged by two separate impacts by the angels the goddamn UN of all things manages to stay whole
@@theldraspneumonoultramicro405 which ending did you watch? If you watch it only until the ending of the tv anime then I can understand but Evangelion isn't over until you watch it all the way to "3.0+1.0 Thrice upon a time" and it's not optional if you wanna get the full story with an actually satisfying ending.
@@randompheidoleminor3011 yes, but the no touchy field is generated by the genetically engineered/clone angel mecha hybrid that is the evangelion. So you get a robot the punches with shaped charge nuclear brass nuckles. Work is being done on miniaturizing the effective size of the evangelion. Maybe someday we be able to strap them to the front of large anti angel missiles.
@@PandorasFolly say hello to nemesis series evangelion in 3.33 they are best descriped as ..more eldritch abomination then eldritch abomination we got ANTI at field evangelion that use AT field as it method of propulsion...reaching speed enough to go to orbit we got ..at the trailer for 3.0 + 1.0...what it seems to be 10 Mass production evas all with with angel face taped together to fire a atom anhilating beam of death and then the one rei pillot in the start which can still function with it head blown off but what can i say....a local kid litterally become god for simping to his "mom"
At least in that universe, the UN got 'teeth' to show, and tried their best. Where else ours one don't even have military. They can't even stop the atrocities happen right in front of their eyes back in the Bosnian Conflict.
@@AlexSDU the Bosnian conflict, caused by the Bosnian a, three times. Literally have them what they wanted only for the u.n. to get pissed because Russia wanted to garuntee their Independence
evangelion with godzilla music 4 years later godzilla with evangelion director and music composer the circle is now complete all is right with the world.
To make matters worse, almost half of the population was wiped out before the establishment of this UN forces. Too much tax burden on the remaining “Le Citizens” unless things are way cheaper than before the Second Impact incident
@@randomv3iwer Well if you look at most of the UN forces it is really just the local JSSDF plugged into NERVs command structure. Most of the equipment, the Type-74 tanks the MLRS and the fleet is all pre-Second Impact, they're just using what's left over with "UN" hastily painted on the side. The VTOLs and planes are new-ish looking as are the Tokyo-3 defensive emplacements. Overall the impression I got is all the money and development went to the Evangelions and everything, and I mean EVERYTHING else just stagnated, which is my headcanon for why all their consumer electronics look like they're from the late 90's because Second Impact halted all development, except in the few key areas required for SEELE's plans, because the world's ending why do we need a better light bulb?
evangelian is not a robot...it a living titan... only living can produce AT field as it is the light of soul they are made from cloning adam and lilth which both are also living also...they bleed..alot....
Yooo guys chillll It is probably a joke... But yes. Evangelions are large creatures based of the first angel.. Adam. They use the souls of each Pilot’s mother. These souls give them the ability to produce an AT field, which in turn can be used to “decay” an Angel’s field, this in turn breaks it, leaving it open.
"Unable to Produce Additional Units, Insufficient Resources for Production, Unable to Comply Insufficient Funds, You must Harvest more Resources, You must Build additional Silos" 😋
I always laugh seeing the Iowas fire underwater. Totally makes a lot of sense. Four Mk48 heavy weight torpedoes would had have more explosive mass than the two Iowas firing its forward batteries(12 guns total). A Mk48 have a 290 kg warhead compared to 70 kg bursting charge on Iowa's 16" HC rounds. Mk48 ADCAP is a Wire guided-capable heavyweight torpedo entered service in the 1980s and could be directed inside the mouth of the Angel manually without sacrificing two battleships that shouldn't be able to fire underwater in the first place. Four torpedoes are way cheaper than two battleships while being way more effective. The torpedoes can be guided and have larger explosive yield. Maybe I'm remembering this wrong because a magazine explosion would make the Iowas far more deadly than the torpedoes. But then again, why not use a nuclear torpedo? Shkval is nuclear capable and was in service during the anime's production.
Because wasting 2 Iowas (they’re listed with the hull numbers and names of Montana which were never built lol) is superior according to the rule of cool and better at showing NERV’s and the UN’s sheer desperation. No duh it’s more logical and cheaper to launch a guided torpedo into the mouth of the angel, but the sheer cost of a battleship (which probably wasn’t even being made anymore by then) shows that the humans aren’t above sinking their ships like that to destroy the angel. Also could there have been an above zero percent chance that those specific torpedos either were not stored and ready to fire or that the angel was out of wire control range?
I was gonna comment on how the UN-Troops are brave but completely ineffective... but to their credit, they did kill the sixth Angel. Granted, Unit 2 provided the setup, but conventional weapons (if you can call twelve 16" shells shot point blank 'conventional') did the trick for once here.
I know it's a SIFI catroon where anythings goes....but it brings up something I have always wondered about. How much firepower do you unload on something before someone makes the call.."This shit ain't working".
They don't, except the first one, they blow a nuke on Angel but not enough to destroy it then they send in the EVA After that they just try to slow down the Angel for evacuation and messing with it AT Field
