Used to dislike Andromeda because she kinda becomes betrayal of Okita promise to Queen Starsha. Until the ep it was sunk, in which I realize Andromeda has a story arc.
But in the end, it had to be necessary because like seriously, we should not be creating more wave motion guns? B*tch pls there's a colossal empire called Gatlantis that literally had like 15 million ships, and you are saying no more wave motion guns. They had to be super necessary in defending Earth
The Andromeda Class was meant to be the successor but in the end the Andromeda was more like a large brother for the Yamato that sacrificed itself at the end.
mass produce ship cannot be the same as the best ship, in my point is Yamato was build with the best part of the earth but Andromeda not, cause Andromeda is mass produce ships but not for the best quality
@@amalzhahran andromeda was a prototype that was given earth best technology, it was the standard model for mass produce ships of the same class, the only difference with yamato is the wave motion core, yamato's core was better quality as it is iscandar made, while Andromeda is just earth copy based on reverse cosmo core.
After watching many warships in anime and as well as experiencing the shipgirl genre, ships became characters for me. Andromeda's sacrifice was super sad to me and felt as one of the best girls of the season had died with a final smile on her covered in blood and wounds face, leaving Yamato and Ginga in tears.
That's right. Ships becomes characters in their own right. Think about enterprise. Everytime an Enterprise is destruloyed I shed a year or two. The only glad think is to look for the new enterprise.
This is what I had in mind when Apollo Norm sacrificed herself to push her older sister Andromeda to safety when Andromeda couldn't escape after that missile literally destroyed her WMG and severely burned the entire right side of her body. As Apollo pushed Andromeda out, Andromeda was more worried about Apollo than herself. Unfortunately, heavily injured and almost died, Andromeda couldn't help Apollo escape too as she began to move out of the gravity well trap. The last words Andromeda hears from Apollo Norm are "Good luck, sister" as she looked at her sister for the last time, with a salute and a smile on her before Apollo got herself consumed by fire
you are aware that space is mind bogglingly huge and four directional? so much so that it doesn't matter where the weapon placement is, because by the time a projectile or weapons blast reaches it? it will have rolled over, evaded the weapons fire or tanked it with shields, & blasted back with it's main guns. zero sense for space my left foot.
Those here designs make more sense for space combat than most others. Especiel considering the lore and WHY they have gravity in the first place on this ships. Up to Kirishima (aka the Kongou class) they had zero grav enviroments on them and all. That we could do already. Them positron weapons? Sorry... but the military already is developing similar, of that i am shure. Those engines? We could already have (stupid greed prevents us from being on mars already). The rest? Thanks to infinite energy thanks to the wave motion core and reactor. And with that? Artificial gravity, shielding and weapons like this are posible easily. Also given we KNOW how to wage war, the designs in total are perfect. Their ballanced, they have anti air, anti ship AND great manouverability. Most of the bigger ships have hangars to launch fighters as well. So in terms of scifi there is NOTHING that could rival them (safe for size, and even then a mere Kongou class would wreck an ISD hard)
And she only exploded and died after knowing both, Yamanami and the Yamato are safe. Musashi did basicaly the same, she only sank after her fleet AND crew where safe, and she took a worse punishment than Andromeda did.
They make it kinda true with reality ! When Yamato is a Dreadnought battle ship, so her armor is thick ! But Andromeda class is not ! They're Multi-role battle ship, and they mostly shooting from far distance more than getting close like Yamato ! The combat range of the two is completely different ! While Yamato effective combat range is around 30.000km ! But Andromeda effective combat range is nearly the distance between Earth and Sun ! This is true with today modern battle ship ! They not getting each other into their line off sight then fire ! But engage when they even haven't seen each other yet
To me, the saddest moment of the whole video is the death of Apollo norm, because it is not one of the big main character ships, they have no plot armour and no big backstory, they are the captain of a ship who willingly gave their life to save their admiral and then people just moved on and prepared for the next battle, that is the true sadness of war, this person made the greatest personal sacrifice possible and within a few months hardly anyone will even remember their name, they will be just another name written down in the history books and engraved on some monument somewhere.
Not really in 2205 the captain and crew of apollo norm got their name on a memorial. And the son of apollo norm captain becomes on of the new recruit assign to Yamato wicht is a great privilege.
I just love that we were given a literal planet killer for a 1 year journey, and the first thing we do with it when we get back is slap it on every ship from the smallest to the largest
A conversation I always imagined between the Andromeda's captain and the Andromeda: Captain: I have to save the Yamato. Andromeda, I need you to pull a miracle for me, one last time. Andromeda: You have me, Captain!! We fly together one last time.
Many people have would a favourite Starship or class of starship, some might say the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars, others would pick the starship Enterprise from Star Trek. More recent ones would probably pick the Normandy from the Mass Effect series and of course, there is the grand old lady herself, the Space Battleship Yamato, and wile my favourite ship is from that series, it is the Yamato itself, she still on the list of favourites, but for me, it’s the Andromeda class and more specifically Andromeda herself. Even though she is less popular than the Yamato, the Andromeda class will always be my favourite. You served well Andromeda, may your sisters continue to serve your honour.
Saw at least one still in active service with the EDF in 2205. And here's the *really confusing* part, also saw a couple with some *very* interesting hull numbers inside the Desarian flagship at the end of 2205.
@@lafeelabriel that Andromeda has designation AAA-21 meaning they are more manned Andromedas after the original 5 AAA-Andromedas starting from AAA-06 - AAA-21.
The wave motion gun still scares me because it can technically be made, not easily, but it isn’t 100% impossible like some other sci-fi super weapons. It is basically a hyper dense beam of Hawking radiation that can, if not done correctly, literally tear a hole in the universe.
@@alicorn3924 oh yeah the Shunran! I wanna see it in 2207 fighting against the Dezariam and like the ultimate badass destroys a fortress with its fleet all on its own.
Because Yamato was recreated based on the structure of an old sunken ship (you should know which already). They still utilized and prepared tons of stuff for it still tho like there weapons everywhere and no space is wasted.
@@thh1226 I think the only flaws they have is that they don't have canon and anti air/missile/torpedo gun in the bottom side, I think if they have that it will help them so much to survive 360 battle, but as we seen, missile in the side and underbelly already seemd enough, even also can be used for attacking other ship
After the near extinction of humanity and the discovery of temporal distortions caused by the device that restored earth, the survivors vowed “never again” and constructed The Endless Fleet.
Well, that was Andromeda class-ship. The warp Cannon able to destroy a small planet, and at 7:40 Andromeda going to destroy the core of a comet with the same size as saturn. And at last moment Andromeda still manage to save Yamato. So more simple "Only in death, does duty end"
That Ship was Apollo Norm AAA-03 . The modified version form AAA-01 Andromeda. The ship was modified to be a aircraft carrier. Even with different design and with huge modifications, the Apollo Norm still recognised as the Andromeda Class
I know it's impossible to have fire and smoke in space since there's no oxygen. But Andromeda has a lot of fuel + core for the wave motion gun to get burn. So it still possible to have fire and smoke in space
"Captain Yamanami is alive, I repeat! Captain Yamanami is alive!" And i cried hard. Also for all those saying "WMF evil" Yea no, its not. She was NEVER used to attack, only to defend. Something wich Iscandar was INCAPABLE of doing. So in a sense Yamanami kept the promise to never use the WMG offensivly (wich was the only part okita promised , never to repeat the mistake of iscandar to destroy other races with it(and subsequently safe them in a crystalized form forever). Seriously? Okita's vision for Kodai was nothing else but Okita telling him thanks to Teresa. Okita basicaly told kodai "we promissed, but saving lifes is more important than it". And hell he did. Took him still till 2205 to snap back to being Kodai again.
andromeda has like plane big at the front and is look good and beautiful and comfortable enough with colour change is looks very nice and clean and wave motion gun is good ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊❤❤❤
Wished Andromeda didn't get destroyed after saving that Yamato..that was totally lame. They could've then souped it up & used in the final defeat of the White Comet Empire & had it for 2205 too..
only two, Musashi who's purpose was to sail and study within and beyond the Milky Way and Ginga who's role was to be Humanities Noah's ark. currently there are no other Yamato class Battleships in the Series only the Three we know of, and so far all three are very different from one another.
they had ai do most of the work, only a few ships were actually fully crewed. it got so bad to the point that even the andromeda's only had one crew member. also as for the mining & manufacturing, having a literal time bubble or dimensional time fault/ factory helps.
Current demographic trends mean that humanity being at 1/3 of today’s population by 2202 is very possible even without any wars at all. People in industrialized nations have less kids.
@doxxing is cool and 10 remain from the war. Those are the neu balgrey class type, andromede class type (garmillan), antares, achilles, aldebaran and alpheratz. And lost andromeda, apollo norm, 1 andromede class type, amaterasu, laboratory aquarius, normal aquarius and acrturus cxci = 7 lost and 10 survived the gatlantis war. The other 1,983 andromeda class battleships are built after the gatlantis war.
Am i just downright bad for thinking the Earth Federation Cosmo Navy launches the Andromeda class and other ships into the water instead of catipulting it into the sky?
