Music: Last Time - Bond, Strange Paradise - Bond
The Red Line is the first metro rail line built and opened in Washington D.C. and connecting the adjacent areas. Opened in 1976 and extended in both directions for many times, the line has a current length of 32 miles with 27 stations opened. Within the entire WMATA rail system, the Red line is the only line that runs individually and does not share any segments with other lines, and has a shape of "U", such that the middle section is in downtown Washington D.C., and the two ends are located in the relative suburban areas.
The line connects up several cardinal areas of the United States' Capital City, including but not limited to the President's Park, the downtown tourism areas, business districts, transportation terminals, university towns, and resident areas.
There are several models of cars running on the line now. The 3 older series are 6-car trains, which are: Breda 2000 series / Breda 3000 series / Alstom 6000 series. The newer model, which are 8-car trains, are made by Kawasaki in 2015. But due to their derailment happened by the end of 2021, they were pulled out of service, and did not return on the Red Line when the video was taken.
Therefore, as the older series' announcement systems are fully-manual, while the newer series' announcements are consisted of "nonchalant" machine-generated voices, I decided to dub the station announcements by myself.
Please correct me if any of those pronunciations are wrong.
The video was taken when I was traveling in D.C. Generally, WMATA left me with an awesome impression. Especially, I love how they treat rail fans with a nice and friendly attitude. For instance, the operator of the train that I took the time-lased video on realized that I am a rail fan, and poured special passion while making announcements. Special thanks to him!
Thanks for watching!
